Chapter 1127:
âHey, why would you say Iâm crazy?â Bailee said, slightly miffed. She had tried several times to lure Gabriela to her side, but to no avail.
Gabriela quickly wrapped her arms around Bryanâs thighs. Bryan bent down, lifting her into his arms as she giggled. Bryan chuckled. He then turned to Bailee. âGabriela is overdue for a shower after five days of travel. Iâm going to take her for one now.â
Bailee couldnât resist teasing. âThat explains the smell!â Gabriela sniffed her arm and whispered to Bryan, âI donât smell bad. Iâll shower and smell amazing soon!â
âHaving a child around really brings life to the house. Iâve missed this,â Bailee, sitting next to Eileen, kept her eyes on Bryan and Gabriela until they were out of sight.
Eileen chuckled and said, âYouâve been married long enough. Maybe itâs time to think about having your own baby.â
Bailee tensed and glanced around. Huey was still distracted, looking elsewhere and not catching the conversation. âThereâs no rush,â Bailee replied.
âNo rush?â Eileen questioned, her brow furrowing. âMom has been warning you to have a child for a while now. She has urged you multiple times about it.â
Eileen believed Bailee and Huey loved children dearly and seemed well-prepared for parenthood. Besides, they had been married for quite a while now.
âWe need more time just for us. Weâre not really ready to give up our alone time just yet,â Huey joined them, settling down with a smile. âEileen, weâre not planning on kids yet, but weâre here to support you with Gabriela. And whenever you decide to have another child, weâre here to help. Sounds good, doesnât it?â
Eileen was taken aback upon hearing this and looked between Bailee and Huey, who both offered forced smiles.
âAs long as you have a plan,â Eileen said, not pressing further. Maybe Huey still wanted to have some alone time with Bailee.
âYou just got back, and Iâve got good newsâmy mother has awakened and is undergoing rehabilitation. With all thatâs going on, we need to see her right away,â Huey said.
âReally? Thatâs wonderful news! How is she recovering?â Eileen asked, her face lighting up with joy.
âShe had been unconscious for nearly two years. The doctors attributed it to blood congestion in her brain, which has now been resolved. She is making rapid progress. She has started walking and is capable of taking care of herself.â The large villa resonated with happiness and laughter. In the evening, a family dinner took place, filling the atmosphere with lively chatter.
Meanwhile, the Dawson Mansion lay quiet, illuminated only by faint lights. Stella, leaning on her cane, gazed out into the dark courtyard, lost in thought.
âItâs getting late. Mr. Dawson mentioned heâd return tomorrow. You should head to bed soon,â Jarred approached her.
Shaking her head, Stella said, âIâm wrestling with how to discuss that matter with him when he visits me. When he was away, he only called you to check on my health, which shows he still harbors some grudges about that.â
Jarred exhaled deeply. âWhy bring it up if it upsets him? Plus, you arenât even sure of the facts.â
Stellaâs frustration was evident. âThatâs exactly why I need a chance to verify it. He never allowed me the chance to do that. If heâs so sure, why deny me the opportunity? Ever since I voiced my suspicions, heâs been avoiding me, not even letting me see Eileen and Gabriela. He is obsessed with Eileen!â
