Chapter 1102:
While the officer spoke, Kamilaâs gaze remained fixed on Eileen. When Kamila saw Eileenâs calm look, her emotions began to rise.
âIf I had known you were Keithâs daughter at your birth, I would have divorced him! Then, I wouldnât have spent my life in such folly! My poor son and daughter have endured so much,â Kamila muttered these words through clenched teeth.
âCome with us.â Before Kamila could finish speaking, the officers took her by the arms and led her away.
As the police guided her down the corridor, Kamila spotted Tilda running toward her after hearing the news. âMom!â
Kamila wanted to say something but eventually said nothing. She straightened her back, turned around, and left.
Though it was only temporary imprisonment, the implications felt definitive.
As Kamila was escorted away, Tildaâs concern peaked, and she hurried to confront Eileen. âYou promised we wouldnât meddle in each otherâs affairs, remember?â
Eileen, watching Kamilaâs retreating figure, replied, âWhen have I ever meddled in your matters? Itâs clear Kamila is the one who has been pestering me.â
âNonsense!â Harrell exclaimed, his anger palpable as he approached them. âYou set my mother up! Youâre responsible for myââ
Tilda grabbed Harrellâs arm, trying to calm him. âHold on, letâs think this through. Something isnât right here.â
Harrell wrenched his arm free, his voice raised in frustration. âWhatâs to think about? You think youâre above us all, huh? Eileen has deceived you! If you had supported Mom and Jaliyah before, none of this would have happened!â
Every story unfolds at gαâηÏνððsï¼ð¬ððº He lunged forward again but paused abruptly upon noticing Bryan standing protectively beside Eileen.
âThis isnât over,â Harrell said. âIâm going to my father. Heâll see you for what you really are!â
With those words, Harrell spun around and ran off.
âGo check with the police; see whatâs happening,â Eileen said to Bryan.
Bryan nodded, casting a brief glance at Tilda, who was standing at the bottom of the stairs, and then made his way back to the station.
Eileen descended the stairs slowly, approaching Tilda. Before she could speak, Tilda blurted out, âMy mother canât be the murderer!â
âI donât believe that,â Eileen responded calmly. Even though she found Kamilaâs arrogance and stubbornness grating, she never considered her malevolent. To Eileen, Kamila could be difficult, but she was not evil.
Relief flickered in Tildaâs eyes. âReally? You think so, too? I also believe you canât be that cruel. It feels like someone is pulling the strings here.â
âTell me more about your family,â Eileen said, guiding Tilda to a quieter corner.
Tilda replied, âI spent much of my childhood abroad. Mom would join me for a few months each year. I rarely saw Dad, but we stayed connected by phone. He was always kind and wiseâmy go-to whenever I faced problems, always ready with comfort and advice. The only strain in our relationship comes from the fact that he doesnât allow me to date anyone. When he discovered my secret boyfriend, he insisted I return home to marry my current husband.â
Tilda, when speaking of the Aston family, admitted her knowledge of her family was limited due to not growing up at home. She continued, âAfter my mother realized you were my fatherâs daughter, she feared you might claim our familyâs wealth. She didnât want the illegitimate daughter to thrive and wanted to push you into backing off. She wasnât trying to excuse Kamilaâs behavior; she just wanted to explain that Kamila aimed to make you leave.â
