Chapter 1100:
âItâs Kamila. She didnât trust Ms. Curtis. She was convinced you wouldnât leave Alverton and would strike back hard, seizing everything from the Aston family. Thatâs why she thought the best defense was a strong offense and coerced me by holding my family hostage.â
Eileen was tempted to swear Kamila had lost it!
Suddenly, Eileen felt a pang of regret for Jaliyahâs death. Jaliyah had been used by Kamila and discarded when things got tough.
Bryan abruptly stood up, and his chair scraped against the floor. âCome here to give the confession.â
The next second, the door swung open. Several uniformed officers entered and subdued the man, who then signed a new statement.
Bryan escorted Eileen out of the building. As they exited the police station, they saw the Aston familyâs car stopping at the entrance.
Kamila and Harrell stepped out of the car and glared at Eileen. Harrell was quick to act, charging at Eileen as if he intended to tear her apart.
âEileen, a life for a life! You monster!â His eyes were bloodshot, and his fists were clenched. He moved several steps toward Eileen.
Before Harrell could reach Eileen, Bryan kicked him in the chest. Bryanâs kick wasnât particularly forceful; perhaps Harrellâs recent lack of rest was to blame. He stumbled and tumbled down the stairs.
Kamila hurried to Harrellâs side to check on him. Once she confirmed he was alright, she looked up furiously and said, âBryan, youâre so clever, yet you fail to see Eileenâs true nature. Regardless of our past, she shouldnât be a killer!â

As they conversed, several uniformed officers entered the police station and quickly approached Kamila.
âMrs. Aston, you are suspected of the murder of your daughter-in-law, Jaliyah Aston. Please accompany us for questioning,â one officer said.
Kamila was taken aback by this abrupt turn of events. Harrell, who had been on the ground, leapt to his feet and exclaimed, âWhat are you talking about? How could my mother have killed my wife? Whereâs your proof?â
âShe didnât personally kill your wife; she hired someone to do it. The murderer has confessed. Mr. Aston, I urge you to stay calm,â one of the officers replied.
Despite Harrellâs fervent defense of Kamila, the police continued to try to convince him. Eventually, the police had to act and forcibly take Kamila to the station.
Eileenâs eyelids twitched twice, prompting her to press them with her hand. She then glanced at Bryan.
When their eyes met, they both felt an odd sensation. They silently agreed to return to the station and listen to the testimonies of Kamila and the Aston familyâs driver.
Kamila, visibly distressed, repeated, âI must have made a mistake. Bring the killer here; I want to confront him directly.â
âSorry, we canât accommodate your request now. Please cooperate with our investigation,â the officer replied firmly. âOn the day Jaliyah died, what were your activities after you returned to the Aston familyâs residence from the Vazquez Mansion? Where were you?â
