Chapter 1079:
He gave Leyla a nod, turned, and walked away.
Eileen and the others each headed back to their respective rooms.
Gabriela, unable to keep her eyes open, fell asleep early. After a refreshing shower, Eileen got into bed and immediately nestled into Bryanâs arms. She wrapped her arms around his waist and gazed up at him. His eyes were half-closed, and his fatigue was evident. Still, she knew he wasnât actually asleep.
He wrapped his strong arms around her waist, took a deep breath, and remained silent.
In the stillness of the room, their breaths mingled.
Suddenly, the silence was shattered by the ringing of Bryanâs phone. Bryan quickly answered the call.
âMr. Dawson, in just half an hour, Christos will be escaping for two full hours. Iâve checked the route, and it looks like heâs heading southeast. He might be going to Onaland,â Raymond said.
Bryan replied wearily, âGive him another two hours. What about the information I asked you to find out?â
âWell,â Raymond said with regret, âwhile Christos wonât harm Ms. Curtis, he also wonât assist her. His identity is rather sensitive, so heâs reluctant to divulge anything useful to her.â
Bryanâs eyes turned cold. He quickly ended the call. Eileen, still in his arms, had overheard the conversation.
She snorted and said, âThe next time I see him, I wonât be forgiving.â

Eileen thought carefully before replying, âHe spoke with an Alverton accent. Bryan didnât know how to respond. It was essentially the same as knowing nothing at all. People from Alverton have a distinct accent. Plus, Alverton has a large population.â
âJust sleep for now,â Bryan said, his voice weary. He was so tired now. Understanding how drained Bryan was, Eileen adjusted herself into a cozy position and soon drifted off to sleep in his arms.
She hadnât had much rest over the past few days either. The chaos had made it nearly impossible for her to sleep soundly. The night seemed endless, and the vast plains of Alverton were blanketed in darkness.
Keith arrived home feeling exhausted. As soon as he stepped inside, he noticed a figure sitting on the sofa. He instantly recognized Kamila after sharing over twenty years together.
âWhy are you still up at this hour instead of in bed?â he asked, flicking on the lights.
âIâve been waiting for you,â Kamila said, squinting as the lights suddenly illuminated the room. âI heard they found that bitchâs daughter. Youâve been searching for her all day. Does she even appreciate your efforts?â
Keithâs expression darkened. âThis is a life-and-death situation. Why are you so frustrated by me caring about it?â
Kamila stood, throwing the pillow onto the sofa in frustration.
âIâm like this because you have another woman in your heart. Youâre avoiding me, and you want a divorce.â
