Chapter 1068:
âYou tried searching for her there? Thereâs a lake near the Vazquez familyâs cemetery, along with some areas that arenât well documented. Maybe she wandered off to explore and got stuck there without meaning to,â Keith said.
When Bryan heard Keithâs suggestion, his expression turned icy. He clasped his hands together, exuding a mix of resolve and coldness. Whether Keithâs words remained a mystery to him was unclear.
Keith turned his gaze to Leyla as she came out of the room, visibly shaking. Her eyes were red-rimmed, and she appeared pale and weak.
She looked so frail that it seemed like she could collapse at any moment.
âKeithâ¦â Leylaâs voice quivered, her eyes swimming with unshed tears. âDid you learn about what happened to Eileen?â
Keith hurried over to her and reassured her, âIâm aware. Donât worry. Eileen is under Godâs protection; sheâll be alright. Dottie will look out for her, too.â
Keithâs comforting words did little to ease Leylaâs anxiety. She had already been through the pain of losing someone dear to her before. She was well aware of the deceit and dangers lurking within wealthy families. But she had never imagined it would happen again, and the thought was nearly unbearable.
âDonât worry; Iâll find Eileen. I wonât let Dottieâs soul remain restless because of this.â With that, Keith turned to look at Bryan, who was sitting quietly on the sofa. Bryan didnât utter a single word.
âLet me help you back to your room. Leave everything else to me. You need to take care of yourself,â Keith said as he helped Leyla make her way back to the bedroom. Once they were inside, Keith closed the door behind them.

Leyla sensed there was more on his mind. âYes, why do you ask?â
âI know itâs not really my place to say this, but I feel itâs important to remind you to protect yourself from any potential harm others might cause you. Just look at what happened with Conroy,â Keith whispered, sitting across from Leyla.
Noticing the conflicted expression in Leylaâs eyes, Keith paused for a while before continuing, âIf you think Iâm off base, just forget I said anything. Iâll do everything I can to find Eileen. If anything comes up, donât hesitate to reach out. Iâll leave now.â
He got up. Leyla nodded slightly, and he left the room. His gaze then lingered on Bryan, who was still seated in the living room, but he left without a word.
Shortly after Keith had left, Raymond rushed in.
âMr. Dawson, weâve successfully installed the tracking system on over ten thousand mobile phones, just as you requested. Everyone involved in the search for Ms. Curtis will be carrying one. The moment any of them sets off a signal, weâll be able to locate it right away,â Raymond said.
A faint spark of hope flickered in Bryanâs dark eyes. He stood up, stretching to relieve the tension in his muscles. Though he hadnât slept a wink since Eileen went missing, fatigue had not yet set in.
He had spent so much time staring at the detailed map of Alverton that he now knew it by heart.
