Chapter 1041:
Eileen only went along because she was curious to see what Jaliyah was up to.
Within ten minutes, the dishes arrived.
Jaliyah dove right in, not wasting any time. âYou know Iâm not actually pregnant, right?â she asked Eileen between bites.
âI just happened to be there this morning. Your Aston familyâs drama is none of my business,â Eileen replied coolly, not even touching the food.
âDo you want to know why Iâm faking this pregnancy?â Jaliyah asked.
Eileen shook her head. âI have no idea.â
âItâs all your fault!â Jaliyah slammed her fork down, her face twisted in anger. âYouâre blood-related to the Aston family. My mother-in-law said that my father-in-law might leave the entire Aston family fortune to you! And Iâm not going to let that happen. Thatâs why I want to have a son to compete with you for the family fortune.â
The corners of Eileenâs mouth twitched in disbelief. She leaned back in her chair, lips pursed, pondering the chaos this inheritance issue had caused within the Aston family.
The irony was that Keith had no clue she was his daughter. And yet, the rest of the Aston family were already losing their minds, ready to go to war with her.
âWith all due respect, but even Keithâs son canât compete with me. What makes you think your son stands a chance?â Eileen said.
Jaliyah choked on her food, coughing violently. She glared at Eileen from behind a napkin.
âI donât want your familyâs money,â Eileen said. âI have plenty of my own. The Aston family fortune might be everything to you, but itâs peanuts to me. Iâm just stating the obviousâyouâre a fool for doing this.â
With that, she rose from her seat, her fingertips lightly tapping the table. âI wonât meddle in the Aston familyâs affairs, but I do advise you to know when to quit. Iâll be returning to Onaland in a few days. From now on, Iâll only come back to visit the Vazquez familyâs ancestral tombs, not to stay for long.â
Jaliyahâs eyes widened in surprise. As soon as Eileen was out of sight, she jumped up, paid the bill, and hopped into a waiting car by the roadside.
The moment she sat down, she turned to Kamila, who was resting with her eyes closed. âEileen said sheâs leaving Alverton and going back to Onaland for good!â
âDonât believe her,â Kamila scoffed, opening her eyes. âShe just thinks youâre a tougher nut to crack than Tilda, so sheâs trying to trick you. Sheâs probably already called your father to tell him youâre faking the pregnancy. Enough of this nonsense. Get back to the hospital and make sure everythingâs in place.â
The driver started the car. Jaliyah mumbled under her breath, âI donât think sheâs the type to lie.â
âWho is?â Kamila snapped. âDo I look like Iâm lying to you? Remember when Eileen told Tilda she wouldnât get involved in her business, and you said Tilda was dumb for believing her? Well, look whoâs the dumb one now!â
Jaliyah was rendered speechless. She went back to the hospital and was admitted.
Eileen was troubled by the whole Dalores situation. She hadnât gone back to the hospital yet, still unsure if she should tell Julio the truth.
When she got to VQ Group, Raymond had just delivered Bryanâs lunch. Bryan hadnât eaten yet.
