Chapter 1033:
Eileen tapped her fingertips on the table twice, her voice steady as she spoke. âAlright, but first, letâs be clear on what you should do if youâre wrong. Make sure youâre up for this before you decide to bet with me.â She paused for a moment before adding, âIf the examination shows that Iâm not pregnant, youâll have to apologize to me publicly. And then, youâll need to live stream, condemning your parents for having an affair that resulted in your birth and declaring that such behavior is unacceptable.â
Jessica paused to think. After a while, she said, âFine, but if Iâm right, youâll hold a press conference, apologize to Mr. Dawson, and admit that youâre a shameless cheater!â
âDeal,â Eileen agreed without hesitation.
Just as she finished speaking, someone from the crowd shouted, âMr. Dawson is here!â
Instantly, all eyes shifted from the two women to the figure making his way over.
Bryanâs black suit jacket was draped over his arm, with his shirt cuffs unbuttoned and rolled up. He looked slightly disheveled yet still carried an air of nobility.
His dark eyes immediately locked onto Eileen in the middle of the crowd. After shooting a cold glare at Jessica, he strode up to Eileen, placing the jacket he was holding over the back of her chair.
Jessica couldnât wait to say, âMr. Dawson, Iâm the one who called you here. Your wife has been cheating on you, and sheâs pregnant with someone elseâs child.â
She looked around before rushing to help an old man stand up and walk over, who had been sitting ignored in the corner. The man looked to be about eighty, clearly brought in for this moment.
The old man had been sitting there, unnoticed, for quite a while. Jessica moved so quickly that it looked like she might make the old man fall at any moment.
Stay tuned for updates at gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm âCome on! Examine her and tell everyone sheâs pregnant,â Jessica urged, practically shoving the old man toward Eileen.
Eileen didnât resist. She calmly extended her hand on the table. But before the old man could do anything, a silk handkerchief was suddenly placed on her wrist.
It was Bryan. He had taken out a handkerchief from his pocket and laid it over Eileenâs wrist with a deliberate air. âApologies. My wife is being targeted here. I just want to be careful and make sure she doesnât get hurt.â
The insinuation was clearâwhat if the old man had poison on his fingers?
Jessicaâs confidence wavered, but she forced herself to say, âIt wonât affect the results anyway. Mr. Dawson, after this doctor confirms that Eileen is pregnant with another manâs child, you wonât defend her anymore.â
âWhy are you rushing things?â Eileen asked Jessica. âSince he cares about me so much, he might not believe that the baby is someone elseâs just because you said so. You might have to wait until the baby is born and tested to prove your point.â
Everyone fell silent.
With a subtle smile, Eileen allowed the old man to examine her.
Noticing that Jessica was about to speak, Eileen placed her index finger to her lips and said, âHold off on saying anything. Itâs important to stay quiet while the doctor examines me.â The old manâs frown deepened, making Bryan increasingly uneasy.
