As soon as the plane landed, Dan-Han took them to the hotel where he had reservations.
He observed Eun-sun as she gazed around the hotel lobby in awe. Her eyes glistened like she hadnât seen anything like it before. She always had that look whenever she went somewhere new, and it stirred up the urge in him to show her the world, take her to all the places she hadnât been before, and that was something heâd live up to. She was just too easy to please.
âYou like it?â He asked as she kept snapping her neck around, her eyes darting back and forth in wonderment as she took in whatever she could of the ambiance. What caught Eun-sunâs eyes the most was the fantastic fountain at the heart of the lobby and the artificial waterfall fountain adjacent to it.
She turned to Dan-Han with glistening eyes and eagerly bobbed her head. âItâs beautiful.â She happily said.
Eun-sun felt another wave of nostalgia hit her as she took in the placeâs ambiance. Being in Dan-Hanâs arms in a beautiful place like this reeled back the unforgettable memories of their beautiful dates in this city weeks ago.
Her eyes twinkled as she lifted her head and kissed his cheeks.
Dan-Han lowered his head and looked at her with amusing eyes, a pleasant smile edging his lips.
.....
âWhat was that for?â He asked as she lifted her head again and dropped another feathery kiss on his cheek, making him chuckle at her cute little actions.
Eun-sun shrugged non-committally and pursed her lips to hide the shy smile on her face. No matter how hard she tried, Dan-Han still made her feel conscious despite the time theyâve been together, and she couldnât stop herself from blushing whenever he smiled at her. Maybe it was the feeling of knowing his smile was sacred and exclusive to her and that she was the reason behind every smile on his face. âI couldnât help it.â She said with a bashful shake of her head.
Dan-Han couldnât help but laugh at her pretense of being shy. âYou fake shy girl. Youâre not shy, Eun-sun. So stop acting like you are.â He teased, and she slightly hit him on his chest while trying to bury her flushed face in his chest.
Ni-Na, who stood by the sidelines, compulsively treated to an unnecessary display of affection, rolled her eyes as she wondered if the Dan-Han before her was the very man who had helped her mother raise with an iron fist. It was unbelievable.
She glared at them and snorted as she trotted towards the elevator, leaving them with the choice to follow behind if they ever decided to close the curtains to their charade of giggles and kisses.
âCome on, letâs go.â Eun-sun eagerly told him when she saw Ni-Na walking away, and Dan-Han did as he was commanded.
With Eun-sun still in his arms, he tossed the card in his hand towards Ni-Na, and she reflexively caught it.
âYour suite is next to ours, and Iâm sure your bags have been moved there. You can go check it out when I return.â
âReturn?â Ni-Na asked with a curious frown as she confusedly stared at Dan-Han. âAre you going somewhere?â She inquired, but she obtained her answer from the blank look on his face because she knew heâd never give her an answer.
Ni-Na turned fully towards him, her frown running deeper and drawing her brows into a tight knot. âAre you here for business or a vacation?â She firmly demanded.
Dan-Han threw a side glance at her. âYou should know better than to ask me such questions. Just do as youâre told, Ni-Na. Iâll be back as soon as possible.â He sternly told her. He was about to say something else when the elevator door chimed on arrival, and he swallowed back whatever it was before stepping out of the elevator.
Ni-Na confusedly glanced at Eun-sun for clarity, and thatâs when she observed the apologetic look she had on her face that confirmed her suspicion that Eun-sun might have withheld some crucial information about this trip.
Ni-Na walked behind Dan-Han as he led them towards his suite, where they found the bellboy already waiting with their luggage.
He bowed to them and held the door open before excusing himself.
Ni-Na bit her lips to stop the urge to pose another question to Dan-Han. She turned to Eun-sun when she heard her asking
âWhen will you be back?â
Exactly! When will he be back?! Ni-Na roared inside of her.
âBefore dinner.â He vaguely replied, and Eun-sun nodded. She looked at the watch on her wrist and observed the time. It was barely a few minutes past eleven in the morning.
She deeply heaved. It was just going to be a few hours, and sheâd spend them with Ni-Na.
Dan-Han placed her on the couch and planted himself in front of her knees while his fingers reached for her hair and gently combed through it. âEat lunch and wait for me. Also, take the meds Jae-Hyun gave you. Iâll be back before you know it.â He softly told her.
Eun-sun could hear the tenderness in his voice, and she knew it was because he was feeling bad for bringing her there only to leave her as soon as they arrived.
Eun-sun flashed him a sweet smile as she trailed her hand along the length of his jaw. âYou donât have to worry about me. Iâll be here with Ni-Na, and weâll be fine.â She assured him.
âI wonât be fine!â Ni-Na refuted with a sigh.
Dan-Han sighed as he turned towards Ni-Na, who still maintained a grumpy look as she openly glared at him. He turned away and ignored her.
He placed a kiss on Eun-sunâs forehead. âDonât move about.â He told her, and she obediently bobbed her head.
He rose to his feet and glanced at Ni-Na again. âDonât look for trouble.â He told her and walked away while she snorted after him.
Ni-Na folded her hand across her chest as she intently glared at Eun-Sun.
âWhy are we really here?â She sternly asked.
âYou mean why are you really here?â Eun-sun redirected her question with a raise of her brows and a slight smile.
âWhichever way you want to put it,â Ni-Na replied.
Eun-sun put away her phone on the table beside her and replied. âHe has some business to attend to, so youâre here to babysit me.â
âBabysit?â Ni-Na stopped herself from snapping. Babysitting wasnât the reason why she had agreed to come along. She had thought there were going on-
âWhat happened to having fun?â She evenly asked. âWeâre still going to have fun, right?â She curiously inquired.
âIsnât babysitting fun?â Eun-sun teased while Ni-Na rolled her eyes.
âFirstly, youâre not a baby. Maybe my brotherâs but not mine. Secondly, youâre a grown woman whoâs supposed to be having fun with me and not rotting away in a hotel room. What happened to shopping and-â She paused as she tried to put her words together. This sudden news was drying her juices. âT..to shopping and everything exciting.â She rapped out.
Eun-sun shrugged and lolled back on the couch. âWell, thatâs the extra curriculum youâve been hired for.â She said, but Ni-Na suspiciously narrowed her brows at her.
âAre you saying-â
âYour brother agreed you came along because he wants you to keep me company, but I wanted you to come because I thought we could be a bit rebellious, but moderately rebellious.â She quickly added when she saw the mischievous glint that suddenly glistened in her eyes.
Ni-Na pouted her lips as she tried not to smile too devilishly, but Eun-sun could see the admiration and excitement in her eyes. âMy brother couldnât have made a better choice. Weâre so having fun, whatever kind this place can provide.â She half squealed while Eun-sun cautiously smiled.
Whenever Ni-Na zapped into her happy mood, she became a different person who made her nervous, but she liked her anyway.
Away from there, Dan-Han answered his phone the moment he stepped into the car.
âDo you have it?â He asked.
âYes.â The person over the phone replied.
âMeet me at the hospital.â He ordered before intercepting the call, but as soon as he did, he received a message from A-Yeong that she had just arrived at the airport and requested a location, and he sent her a text to meet him at the hospital.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
He didnât need to tell her the reason for the meeting at the hospital because he was sure she had a clue of what it was.
Dan-Han made his way to the hospital, and the moment he arrived, he met a few people who were already waiting for him.
âMr. Lee.â A middle-aged doctor dressed in a white lab coat bowed as well as the people behind him. Dan-Han frowned, seeing the unnecessary number of people looking at him.
âWhat part of discreet did you not understand?â He coldly asked the man, who suddenly trembled. Small beads of sweat formed on his face and the others standing behind him.
âIâm sorry, President Lee. I just thought-â He stuttered. He turned towards the people behind and surreptitiously signaled them to leave, and they all scrambled away.
âIâm sorry, President Lee. I didnât mean to-â
âLead the way.â He ordered, not having the leisure time to accommodate his apology. The man vigorously nodded and quickly led the way.
The man led him to his office, where Dan-Han saw one of his subordinates waiting. He had sent the man over even before he boarded his plane.
âBoss.â The man jerked to his feet and bowed the moment he saw Dan-Han.
âWhere is it?â He asked, and the man brought a specimen bag containing a few strands of hair.
Dan-Han received it and gave it to the doctor. âHow long will the test take.â
âA few hours.â He hurriedly replied.
âGood.â Dan-Han nodded.
âThen take my sample and send me the results the moment itâs out.â He ordered.
