Chapter 50: Chapter 50

DRAYA

It wasn’t the elaborate dress that Draya didn’t understand; it was the bodyguards that Daniel hired to guard their property. Ever since they found out that she was pregnant, he’d become obsessed with safety, never failing to remind her what precious cargo she was carrying. He was already crazy, but now he was thirty times worse.

From the doorway, Daniel watched Draya get ready. Putting on the wedding dress herself was a no-no for Mr. Control Freak; he was afraid she’d trip and fall.

“Do you want me to get Reece?” he asked with a frown as she tried to zip the back of her dress.

“You’re the one who wanted me to wear this in the first place. I would have been perfectly fine in jeans and a T-shirt,” Draya complained. “We have less than ten wedding guests, Dani. Hell, there are more bodyguards than wedding guests. I don’t need to wear this type of glamorous gown; you said this would be simple, and this doesn’t look at all simple.”

In all honesty, Draya didn’t really care what she wore. She didn’t even care that the wedding is small; she only had two friends anyway: Reece and Marcus. She invited Chris as well, but that was more for Reece to have eye candy than for her to have someone to chit-chat with.

“You’re not wearing jeans, Draya; you’ll squeeze the baby. I don’t know if you’ve noticed the bump, but it’s there, and your jeans are far too tight to wear.”

She rolled her eyes. She had no idea where he was seeing a bump; she’d barely even gained weight.

Draya decided to let Daniel have his way. If she didn’t, they’d go back and forth for hours, and their marriage officiant certainly didn’t have that kind of time.

Draya pointed to my back, indicating that Daniel should help her zip the dress. In the mirror, she saw his eyes on her skin, and the look in his eyes said he liked the fact that she was naked underneath.

Reece insisted that Draya skip the panties tonight. According to her, it would get his mind off the baby and back on her, his future wife. Back on her needs as a woman.

Still, Draya wasn’t prepared for Daniel’s hands or tongue on her skin. It had been a couple of days since they’d last made love, and she was more than ready to let him have his way with her.

“You did this on purpose,” he said huskily, and it wasn’t clear if he was intrigued or pissed. His expression gave nothing away, but she could feel his erection against her back.

Tingles spread across Draya’s clit, and Daniel had barely even touched her yet.

She decided she would play coy today. She planned to be cryptic until he just threw her on the bed and fucked her already. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Daniel kissed Draya’s neck and zipped her dress shut, whispering, “Later,” close to her ear. He let her go.

“Right now,” he continued, “I want to say ‘I do,’ take pictures, chat with our family, and then pick up where we left off… I’ve done a lot of things wrong in my life, Draya, but being with you, moving in with you, marrying you, and starting a family with you feels right. You’re my air. I’ll love you always, and I’ll cherish our children and protect you all with my life. Let’s just get married first. I’ll make love to you later.”

~How can I refuse him when he puts it like that?~

Through their bedroom window, Draya could see that their guests had settled into the oak chairs set up in their backyard. Waiting for them to exchange vows.

~Aren’t you supposed to feel nervous before marrying someone? Shouldn’t I have cold feet?~

But she knew there was nothing to be afraid of. Daniel was the love of her life, her imperfect match.

~I love his love for me, his sacrifices, his willingness to learn new things, his unchanging loyalty. I admire his drive and his passion toward work, me, and the baby. I love his eyes that never lie, I love his cock, I love his lips, I love his voice, I love his way of apologizing when he makes a mistake, I love his stable approach toward life, I love his motivational speeches while he’s working. I love the way he’s trying to get my birth mother some help, even though I can’t stand the woman.~

~No matter what he’s done in the past, he’s mine now and always will be. What do I have to fear?~

“Ready, gorgeous?” Daniel asked, lacing their fingers together.

Draya nodded and stepped into the comfy flat shoes her soon-to-be-husband insisted that she wear. Smiling up at the man she loved as much as her own life, she tightened her fingers around his and said, “Ready.”

Daniel picked up her train with his free hand, and together they made their way outside.

“Dearly beloved—” the officiant began, but Daniel raised a hand to stop him.

~What is it now?~

~What did I forget?~

Draya checked her hands and was pleased to see her sapphire engagement ring. Check.

Her hair was neatly done by Reece. Check.

Nails done professionally. Check.

No underwear. Check.

Makeup done. Check.

~So, why’d he stop him?~

Daniel took Draya’s hands in his, then turned to face their guests. They looked as confused as she was.

“I’m only going to do this once, and you’re all my witnesses,” he said. “She’s not allowed to leave me. Ever. I’ll never allow it. She’s mine now and forever. Anyone who has a problem with that can leave.”

Everyone chuckled and shook their heads, used to the way he was by now.

Draya couldn’t say she didn’t like his devotion to her. She was just as devoted—and just as ready to experience everything with him, one day at a time.

~Giving up isn’t an option. I’ve survived the Gray Billionaire already, so I’m sure I can survive the Possessive Billionaire 2.0.~
