The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and students quickly filed out of the classroom, eager to start their weekend. Lumine packed up her things with a quiet sigh, reflecting on how fast the week had flown by. As she slung her bag over her shoulder, she heard the familiar voice of their teacher calling for attention.

"Students, may I have your attention?"

The teacher stood at the front, a grin on their face that suggested something was coming. The students groaned, bracing for some kind of announcement they weren't quite sure they were ready for.

"I have an announcement!" the teacher continued, their grin turning more mischievous. "The school will be hosting another school camp this month!"

The classroom fell silent for a beat before a student, clearly confused, raised their hand.

"Didn't we just have a school camp two months ago?" they asked, skepticism dripping from their voice.

The teacher chuckled, shaking their head. "Yes, yes, we did. But don't worry, this one will be different. There will be even more activities and chaos than last time. So get ready, everyone. It's going to be wild!"

The room erupted in a mix of groans and excited murmurs, some students already dreading the camp while others looked forward to the mayhem.

Lumine rolled her eyes, glancing at her twin, Aether, who was already plotting how to make this camp memorable. The last trip had been filled with unexpected twists and laughs, and judging by the teacher's tone, this one was going to be no different.

The Day of the School Camping Trip

The day of the camping trip arrived with the promise of sun and adventure. The group had gathered by the school fountain, surrounded by the busy hustle of classmates heading off in every direction. Their bags were packed, everyone chatting eagerly about what the trip might bring, from thrilling activities to inevitable mishaps.

Lumine and Aether stood near the fountain with Amber, Ayaka, Kazuha, Albedo, and Venti, exchanging stories and excitement about the upcoming camp. Scaramouche strolled over, his trademark smirk etched across his face, making his entrance slightly later than the others.

"Well, look who decided to show up," Lumine teased, crossing her arms. Scaramouche simply shrugged, still wearing his casual yet confident expression.

"Just taking my time," he replied.

Aether pulled up in the car, honking the horn impatiently as he poked his head out the window. "Hurry up, we don't have all day! Let's get going already!"

Lumine rolled her eyes but smiled, following the others as they climbed into the car. She, Amber, and Ayaka hopped into the backseat, while Albedo took the front with Aether. Scaramouche followed closely behind, somehow managing to get into the backseat just before the door slammed shut.

"Are we all ready?" Aether asked as he shifted the car into drive, his foot already pressing down on the gas.

Venti, who had been unusually quiet up until now, suddenly spoke up. "Aether, slow down! You're driving way too fast!"

"Oh, come on," Aether replied nonchalantly, his eyes on the road. "We'll be fine. Besides, we're already late."

Venti flinched as the car sped up again, gripping the edge of his seat and shooting a nervous glance at the others in the back. "You're really going to make it a race? Are we in some kind of rally competition?"

"Don't be such a baby, Venti," Aether teased, his grin widening. "If anything, we're making good time."

Amber laughed nervously, looking out the window at the passing scenery. "I don't know, I'm getting a little worried..."

Just as she spoke, a small rat darted across the road. The group barely had time to react as Aether swerved slightly to avoid it. The car's tires screeched, and there was a sickening thud as the rat met its unfortunate fate.

"Did you just hit a rat?" Venti exclaimed, his eyes wide. "I can't believe you hit a rat!"

Aether's expression didn't change. He shrugged again, his foot pressing further on the accelerator. "It's just a rat. It happens."

Scaramouche, who had been watching the entire situation unfold with a smug look on his face, suddenly spoke up. "Amazing. That rat didn't even stand a chance." His voice was low, almost like he was admiring the way the whole thing had played out.

Amber blinked at him, clearly puzzled. "What's so amazing about that?"

"Oh, don't mind me," Scaramouche said casually, still smirking. "I just happen to find rats annoying. You know, being a cat and all..."

Venti, who had been silently watching the whole thing, shook his head. "I swear, this trip is going to be a mess..."

Albedo, who had been quiet up until this point, chuckled lightly from the front seat. "It already is."

Lumine couldn't help but laugh under her breath, amused by the antics that always seemed to follow this group. This trip was already turning out to be chaotic, and they hadn't even reached the campsite yet.

"You think it's bad now?" Aether smirked, glancing over his shoulder at the others. "Just wait until we get there. I'm sure this will be one for the books."

The car continued speeding down the road, the wind whipping through the windows as they all settled in for the ride. Despite the commotion and unexpected rat encounter, there was something comforting about the familiarity of it all.

As the group joked and laughed, Lumine looked out the window, a smile tugging at her lips. She was sure this school camp would be filled with even more surprises, chaos, and memories.

And deep down, she wouldn't want it any other way.

Rip to the rat😓🐀
