I was in my bedroom and when I woke up I looked to my bedside table and saw a photo of me and James and memories came up of me and him moving into our house we bought, but I had sold that house since I cried almost every time I was in there due to my memories and my sister let me start to live with her since she felt empathy for me.
Soon, I got dressed and went to the police station instead of going with Talia and Angela to pick up Tim. After I got to the station, I went to the locker room and got in my officer uniform and went to the briefing room. Soon the boots got here and when Officer Nolan got here the other TO's decided to mess with him and put a bridal bouquet on his seat.
"Oh. Very funny, you guys." John says and we all laugh then he continues "Of course, you know, this means now I have to throw them." As soon as he says that he tosses them over his shoulder and I look and see Lucy and she doges them and as soon as she does that the bouquet lands in front of Grey.
"All right, the honeymoon's over. 3, 5, 21. Officer Nolan, you care to guess what these numbers represent?" Sergeant Grey asks John
"Combination to your heart, sir?" John jokes
"3 is the number of opportunities you had to disable Runaway Bride's car yesterday. 5 vehicles were damaged because you failed to do so. And the last number. Officer Bishop." Grey says not sounding happy while asking Talia what the number 21 meant
"$21,000 in property damage the city has to pay." Talia says
"Correct. All in all, Officer Nolan's first pursuit reveals room for improvement." Grey says to Talia
"Yes, sir." Talia says
"Onward. Officer Chen is in need of a training officer until Tim Bradford is cleared for duty. Officer Scott Wrigley, you get the nod. That's it. Stay safe out there. Oh, Lopez, West, see the captain on the way out." Grey says and everyone else leaves while me and West stay behind
"What do you think she wants?" West asks me
"Nothing good." I tell him knowing it will most definitely be something bad
Soon, me and West enter the captains office.
"I was reading over your report on the Officer Bradford shooting. First off, neither of you had your body cams on, which I understand. You were under fire. What I don't understand is how Officer Lopez emptied two magazines, striking the suspect in the leg, but Officer West, you didn't fire a single shot." Andersen says
"If I may. Officer West did not have a protected position from which to fire, so I urged him to stay down while I engaged the suspect." I lie to her
"Is there anything that you would like to add?" She ask us
"No, ma'am." West denies
"Okay. Get back to work." Andersen tells us and we both leave the office
"Thanks." West tells me
"I didn't do it for you. The golden boy with the VIP dad flunks out on my watch. I just hope protecting you doesn't get me killed." I tell him honestly still mad about what happened
Me and West were in the patrol car, when West decided to say something to me.
"Failure's not an option, okay? I've been around guns my whole life, never froze up before." West asks
"It's different when they're shooting at you." I answer him
"Yeah. Yeah, well, now I know. Look. It- It won't happen again." He tells me
"Not good enough. I don't want to spend every call wondering if you're gonna freeze up again, so today, we get proactive, take all the high-risk calls and see how you do. You better do well." I tell him and as soon as I say that we get a dispatch
"Wilshire units, 415 at Presbyterian Church. PR states man on PCP attacked a priest. Units on scene requesting backup, Code 3." Dispatch says
"Perfect. 7-Adam-07, responding." I say
Me and West roll up and we both get out and we walk up and see a group of officers standing outside the building watching as the priest get loaded into the ambulance
"What's going on?" I ask
"Blaster on PCP walked into the church and threw the priest through a stained-glass window. Tore the place up. We're waiting for special ops and a supervisor." Officer Miller tells us
"Big guy?" I ask again
"You could say that." Miller says
"Okay, cool. We're going in." I tell them meaning me and West
"We are? I mean, hell, yeah, we are." West questions but then puts a brave face on
"It's your funeral." Miller tells us while me and West enter the church
Me and West enter the church and find a very large, muscular man in the balcony, screaming, breaking furniture and throwing things.
"Whoa! He is a big one. What do we do here, Officer West?" I ask West
"Phencyclidine, or PCP, is a dissociative sedative that makes the user feel invulnerable and, uh, sets his body temp through the roof, which is why he took off all his clothes. He's basically the Hulk, unable to feel pain. If you shoot him, it just makes him mad. So what we need to do is calm him down." West answers
"I'm not looking for a dissertation." I tell him
"You stop." The big guy tells us
"I want to know how you're gonna get him into cuffs and then our shop." I tell West for him to do what I want him to do and know
"Come here!" The big guy yells
"Carefully." West says
West has ascended to the balcony and is talking to the BIG MAN on PCP.
"It's okay. Look, I'm just gonna come a little bit closer, okay? Okay." West starts saying while waving me off then continues "Hey, hey, no, we're good. We're good. It's okay. We're good, right? Listen to me, just a quick second. You're thirsty, right? You got to be thirsty. Okay, you like water? I can get you water nice, refreshing water, right? Just put these bracelets on." West says and shows the big guy the handcuffs and continues with calming the guy down "Put these bracelets on, and I will give you all the water that you want. Sweet, sweet water." West finishes and has the guy successfully handcuffed
BIG MAN exits the church, handcuffed, escorted by WEST, followed by me. We walk past the group of cops still standing outside.
"Special ops, my ass." West says
"Bunch of meter maids." I tell him
I go up to West, Chen, and Nolan having no idea what they are doing and say "Officer West, time to go." and we both leave
(Time skip to in the patrol car)
"I pulled a high-risk warrant to serve. Brenner Plank, a member of the Aryan Nation who enjoys long walks on the beach and felony assault. Hope you're ready for a fight." I tell West since he has no choice
"Can't wait." West says and soon we are at a convenience store
I am looking around when I suddenly hear West yell police and hear stuff being knocked down and I run to where the bathroom was
"Police!" West yells
"West!" I yell
Soon we got the guy to the police station and we all had to go to the briefing room
"Her name is Emma Vasquez. Reported missing three weeks ago. Detectives think she's the one that Christine left behind." Grey tells everyone
"I've approved extra shifts and O.T. until we find this girl." Andersen says
"Everyone canvasses between calls. Anything else?" Grey asks Andersen
"Yes, one more thing. Officer Nolan. The motor pool is considering taking out a hit on you for all the damage you've caused to their vehicles. I talked them into, uh, a different solution." Andersen tells Nolan
"Have a good night." West tells someone while leaving the locker room
"Nice work today, Officer West." I tell him
"Thank you." He thanks me
"You took a very bad man off the street, proved you got some fight in you." I tell him a little proud he knows how to fight
"So, this mean we're good or - ?" He asks but I interrupt him
"No. But we're getting there." I scoff while saying this
Soon, I got to me and Angela place and she is already home.
"Hey." I say and am about to go to my room
"Hey, you okay?" She asks me
"Yeah I am." I tell her
"You sure? Because I still remember what today is." She tells me
"Yeah. I am okay. Just tired from today from what I had to do with my boot to make sure he is capable of this job." I tell her
"Okay. Just know I am here." She tells me
"I know. Goodnight Angela." I tell her
"Goodnight Soph." She says and I go to sleep
