Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Operation Haruhi and Hikaru's First Date!

I'm Not a Girl!Words: 33258

Arai looked at Haruhi a bit skeptically. "Haruhi Fujioka?" He asked her.

"Hey Arai." Haruhi replied while Tamaki has his hands on Hikaru and Kaoru's shoulders looking between them.

Daniel was still waking up as he drank some juice. "So uh, these are your friends?" Arai asked smiling nervously.

"Oh, yeah, this is Hikaru, Kaoru, and Daniel, they're in my class." Haruhi said as Daniel lifted a hand in a little wave towards Arai. "And this is..." She looked at Tamaki who was giving her puppy dog eyes. "My Sen-...An acquaintance of mine." She smiled as Tamaki paled.

Daniel coughed trying not to die as Haruhi basically not friend-zoning Tamaki as Misuzu added a foul note sound effect on the piano to add to Tamaki's pain.

"Misuzu... please don't add any sound effects to my moment of despair." Tamaki said slowly turning his head toward them.

Haruhi and Arai sat together at a table talking. "I haven't seen you since graduation." She told him.

"Yeah, you've cut all your hair off. That's such a shame." He replied.

Haruhi lifted a strand of her hair, playing with it when he mentioned it. "I don't think so. I mean, since I cut it, it has been easier to manage." She said in response as he nodded.

"So how's Ouran treating you? Do you keep in touch with anyone from middle school anymore?" He asked her.

"Yeah a little, Kazumi still calls me. What about you?" She looked at him.

Meanwhile the third years and Kyoya sat at a table while Hikaru and Kaoru sat by a counter as Daniel was sitting with them.

"So, then he's a friend of Haruhi's from middle school, huh?" Kyoya commented.

Hikaru just scoffed. "They've had zero contact since graduation, so in my opinion they're not friends just former classmates." He said as Kaoru looked over at him.

"It's hard when you go to different schools Hikaru." Daniel replied frowning at his change of behavior.

"So these guys are all in the same club as you?" Arai questioned.

"Host Club." She replied with a blank face.

Hikaru raised an empty glass, the ice clinking from the movement. "Hey Haruhi, don't you think you should be working? You shouldn't be slacking off!" He called to her from the other side of the room.

"Misuzu said I could take a break!" Haruhi replied sweat-dropping a bit as the sounds of paper being ripped were heard making her look over at Tamaki who was in his corner tearing pieces of the manual he made in a pile. "Hey! Quit making more garbage I'll have to take out!" She yelled at him.

"It's not garbage. I'm making a hamster home." Tamaki replied in a pouty voice.

"But Senpai, you don't have a hamster." She told him.

"I'm not your Senpai." Tamaki told her as he glances over at her before looking back at the paper. "I'm just an acquaintance of yours." He said.

Daniel sighed. "Hikari and Aaron have a hamster, though I'm not sure if this paper is suited for a hamster." He told Tamaki.

"They... Share a hamster?" Tamaki asked as Daniel took out his phone showing him pictures of the hamster.

"Yeah, I think her name is Storm or something, I don't remember." Daniel replied.

"She's so cute." Tamaki said before Arai chuckled.

"Wow, who knew you Ouran guys were so funny." He said as Tamaki sweated profusely. "You know it's such a prestigious school, I've always imagined it's a whole different world." He told them.

"Oh it is alright." Daniel replied with a sigh as he put his phone away.

Arai looked over at Haruhi and smiled softly. "To be honest with you Fujioka, I was kinda worried that you were gonna have a hard time going to such an elite school. I'm glad to see you're doing well." He told her making her smile softly.

A blush went to Arai's face as he continued. "Uh I mean, it's not like I was the only one who was worried about you, lots of people were." He said as he smiles nervously, scratching the back of his head.

Hikaru narrowed his eyes. "What's with him? He's trying to use the refreshing innocence approach." He said looking to the side as Kyoya and the third years look at him. "Someone should tell him we already had a refreshment contest."

"You're being unusually critical."

"I'm just sayin', it's obvious this guy has a thing for Haruhi!" Hikaru raised his voice getting the others attention. It made Arai look over at Haruhi frowning. "It's sickening to watch him try and flirt, blech." He said as Arai looks downward with a sigh as Haruhi stood up glaring at Hikaru.

"Hikaru, stop it. You're being such an asshole." Daniel spoke up before Haruhi could. He was frowning, this was just like when his own friends first came to Ouran.

Arai waved his hand dismissively and laughing nervously. "Hey, it's no big deal, he's right. I did have a thing for you once." He said looking over at Haruhi causing the others to look at him in shock. "But who cares, you already turned me down right?" He said causing even more shock.

"Huh!?" Haruhi exclaimed as she didn't even know either making Daniel and Kyoya to look at her.

"Why do you look so surprised?" Kyoya asked her.

"Wow, you must be oblivious to not realize." Daniel added shaking his head a bit.

"She's not the only one." Kaoru muttered and Daniel looked over at him questioningly which just got Kaoru's grin as an answer and making Daniel roll his eyes.

"You have to fill us in on this story Arai, now when did this happen?" Tamaki asked the male going over to Arai.

"Well, it was about a year ago..." He started as he recalled what had happened about how Haruhi rejected his feelings.

Daniel blinked as the story finished. "Of course she said no, you didn't exactly ask her out, how was she supposed to know?" He said blankly while the second and third years interrogated Haruhi.

Arai rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, it wasn't the only time but if she never got it or understood it's fine, she wasn't interested." He replied and looked at Daniel before Haruhi came over bowing to him.

"I'm so sorry." She told him making Arai shocked.

"So you're turning me down again a whole year later?" Arai said and laughed quietly waving his hand. "Don't worry Fujioka, I'm over it already." He blushed lightly as he scratched his forehead.

"As I said, you didn't realize what I meant so that means you weren't interested. But you know... I was always drawn to that faraway look in your eyes." He smiled and looked at her. "And the way you would look someone in the eyes when you spoke to them. I liked that about you, I always thought you were special." He told her.

Daniel looked at Arai. "You must've cared a lot about her." He said smiling softly before Tamaki rushes forward making Arai stand while holding his wrists as his eyes shined.

"You think that much of my little girl? Don't worry I'll never forget your gallantry!" He exclaimed smiling at the other as Arai just looked weirded out.

Hikaru couldn't help but glare as he sucked on his straw as the glass was already empty. Kaoru watched them with Arai and glanced at his brother seeing how hard he was glaring.

~Later~

Everyone, well mostly everyone was sitting at a table, continuing to hear about Haruhi's past. "Wow! You guys went to Kyoto for your middle school field trip? How unusual that you stay in the country!" Honey said and Daniel hummed.

"Maybe it's unusual for the rich." Daniel replied as Arai gave Honey a close-eyed smile.

"Yeah it's quite normal for commoners." Arai agreed with Daniel.

"Well, I've always been a fan of Kyoto." Tamaki said reminiscing on his times going there as Kyoya pushed up his glasses shaking his head.

"I can't tell you how many times I've had to tour the temples with him." Kyoya said with a sigh. Daniel chuckled in response and glanced over at the twins, the only ones not at the table.

He could see them talking and it really seemed Hikaru was just in a foil mood. Tamaki didn't seem to notice or not realize as he stood up. "Hikaru, Kaoru!" He called to them waving them over. "Get over here! This may be our only chance to hear what Haruhi was like in middle school!" He told them, smiling.

Hikaru simply looked away, sitting back and closing his eyes. "Sorry, .but I'm not interested." He said opening his eyes and looks over with a glare. "Man, how stupid can you guys get? Where's the fun in sitting around talking about somebody's past, I don't see the appeal. Besides, doesn't that guy realize Haruhi doesn't want anything to do with him? She's got plenty of friends." He said crossing his arms looking away.

Haruhi narrowed her eyes and stood up. Daniel reached out to stop her from doing something drastic but he paused as she just stomped over to Hikaru as the other continued talking.

"So she doesn't need you around, get it?" He said, directed towards Arai, opening his eyes to see Haruhi there with her hand raised and slapped him across the face, her glaring at him.

"That's not something for you to decide Hikaru! I'm not going to tolerate you insulting my friends anymore, you got that?!" She shouted at him.

Hikaru's eyes were wide as he looks down, trembling. "But why? Why should anyone else even matter to you?" He asked her as she paused and her glare softens. Daniel got up and went over before Hikaru stood up.

"I thought we were your friends! Are we or aren't we?!" He shouted glaring at her before seeing Daniel seeing his frown. It seemed to make him hesitate slightly before he looked away and runs past them going upstairs.

"Hikaru, wait for me!" Kaoru called after him, following after him.

Tamaki watched them run off with the others and rubs the back of his head. "Their world is still so small. It's such a shame." He said with a soft sigh.

"I thought we gone through this with my friends." Daniel said with a frown.

"Probably because he has to see them everyday with you, it's different here." Honey suggested making Daniel hum and look at the stairs where they ran off to.

~Outside the Pension~

Arai soon had to head out so the group went out to see him off. "I'm really sorry Arai." Haruhi told him as Arai got on his bicycle.

He chuckled a bit and smiled. "It's okay, I don't know what I did, but whatever it was it sure seemed to set him off huh?" He said and Daniel hummed.

"It's not the first time, it's not your fault, Arai." Daniel told him before hearing footsteps behind them and looked back seeing Hikaru walking over to the others. Daniel blinked as he was quick to see it really wasn't Hikaru. Hikaru's temper wouldn't go down this fast.

"Huh? Hika-Chan!" Honey said as the others looked over seeing Kaoru dressed in Hikaru's clothes. Daniel glanced at Haruhi and she glanced back and he knew she knew too but wouldn't say anything. For now at least.

Kaoru rubbed the back of his head. "I was out of line, I'm sorry." He told Arai and Daniel had to hold back from just ratting Kaoru out. He only didn't because he knew Hikaru needed time to cool down and well he'll apologize to Arai truly in time. At least he hoped so.

Arai smiled at Kaoru, unknowing how it wasn't Hikaru. "Thanks, don't worry about it. Well, see you soon Fujioka." He said and started riding off. "Bye guys!" Honey jumps forward holding his stuffed rabbit while he waves frantically bye to Arai as the others were more waving calmly.

As soon as Arai was out of earshot Daniel lowered his hand. "So, why're being Hikaru?" Daniel asked as the hosts looked at Kaoru surprised.

Daniel watched Haruhi reach up and grab Kaoru's cheek. "Hey, what happened to that scratch on your cheek?" She asked him as Kaoru chuckled nervously before holding out a tiny bottle.

"I just covered it up with some concealer." He told her before she let go of his cheek and he stood up. "I don't think Hikaru's temper is going to let up anytime soon. He's no fun when he's like this." He said and smiled at Haruhi. "So, Haruhi, I've got a small favor to ask of you."

Haruhi blinked as she looks at him. "Huh?"

"How would you like to go out with me tomorrow on a date?" He asked her chuckling slightly and gave her a closed eyed grin.

~The Next Day~

When Haruhi went out to town for her date with Kaoru when it turned out to be Hikaru there instead. Daniel and the others were watching them from inside, making sure they weren't caught.

Tamaki was reaching out towards Haruhi sadly. "Haruhi!"

Kaoru was holding him back before he could get them caught. "Be careful Boss, they'll see us!" He told him before Tamaki just grabbed his shirt.

"Why did Hikaru and Haruhi end up on a date anyway?! I don't understand! How are yesterday's events even related to this?!" Tamaki shouted at him.

Honey, Mori and Kyoya were sitting at a table drinking tea. "Y'know this might be Haru-Chan's first date!" Honey said, adding fuel to the fire as Tamaki screams, breathing out fire in the process.

"You're going to pay for that! And look at what she's wearing! It's cute! It's super cute!!" Tamaki shouted pointing at the window.

Daniel was silent as he stared out the window at Haruhi and Hikaru. He didn't know why but he just felt uncomfortable seeing Hikaru out with someone, even if it was Haruhi. They looked... Cute together. His chest tightened and he frowned a bit.

"Elle-Chan, you okay?" Honey asked him making Daniel look over.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be? It's not like it's a real date, friends hang out together all the time, there's nothing romantic about it." Daniel told him before looking over at Tamaki and Kaoru as Kaoru started to explain his reasoning about this.

Daniel looked at Kaoru as he told them the only way to get Hikaru to do this if he was sick. "You faked being sick so Hikaru would hang out with Haruhi?" He questioned as Kaoru nodded.

Tamaki was whining and running around. "No fair! No fair, no fair! No fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair, no fair!"

The group got outside so they could continue watching Haruhi and Hikaru as Tamaki was still whining. "I don't know boss... It's hard for you to understand, but it would be good for Hikaru to find other people he can feel close to." Kaoru said making Tamaki pause and look over at him as the others did the same.

"The only people we've ever been able to depend on are ourselves. We didn't care what anyone else thought about us. That's probably how we ended up so self-centered." Kaoru continued.

Tamaki and Daniel looked at Kaoru blankly. "So you're admitting it?" Tamaki asked.

"At least you're aware of it." Daniel commented.

"I guess you could say Hikaru's immature and let's his emotions take over. See, I'm not sure he's even aware of it, but I can tell that he cares about Haruhi. He just doesn't know how to react, so his emotions run wild. He's selfish and wants all of her attention. It's like what happened with you and your friends, Daniel." Kaoru looked over at Daniel.

"Huh?" Daniel asked as Kaoru just smiled softly as he went back to watching Hikaru and Haruhi.

"He wants to be acknowledged by her but he doesn't know how to make that happen. If you want true friends, friends who aren't only your toys, you have to learn to respect them. That's the only way you can have a meaningful relationship." Kaoru told them before looking back at the others.

"And I think it's about time that Hikaru learned that lesson himself, without someone else to be there to help him." Kaoru finished his little speech.

"That... Explains a lot." Daniel said looking over at Hikaru. He hoped Hikaru would get it though.

"Kaoru... That was amazing." Tamaki told Kaoru, entranced by the other's speech.

"So in other words, this date is basically a test to see if Hikaru can handle being thoughtful towards other right?" Kyoya summarized as Kaoru puts his hands on his hips looking at them.

"Just promise me you won't interfere with them okay?" Kaoru said looking mostly at Tamaki since he was most likely to interfere.

"Fine, but then why are you making us follow them?" Tamaki questioned.

Kaoru crouches behind a tree as he continued to watch Haruhi and Hikaru. "Because! There's no reason we should miss watching something this interesting!" He told them.

"That's not exactly leaving Hikaru to do this alone if we're following them." Daniel told the red head as they walked as Tamaki looks up at the clouds.

"So where do you wanna go Haruhi?" Hikaru asked her looking over at her as they walked together.

"Well, Kaoru said he'd plan everything, so I didn't really give it much thought." She replied as the two sat on a bench, Hikaru holding a tour guide pamphlet. "Any ideas?" She asked looking at him.

"Well there's not anything I need to do here." Hikaru replied, having an attitude, obviously not in his element willingly really.

Hikaru let out a quiet groan. "I know, why don't we go to that outlet mall by the train station, they've got cheap clothes there?" He asked her.

"That's cool, but do you need to buy some clothes?" She asked back.

"No. There's no way I'd buy my clothes at that place." Hikaru's immediate response was.

"Then let's skip it." Haruhi deadpans, not even going to entertain it if Hikaru didn't want to go there. She looks up at the clouds. "Everything looks okay now, but Misuzu said it might rain... I sure hope there aren't any thunderstorms today." She told him.

"I never knew you were so into the weather." Hikaru said sarcastically.

The awkwardness between the two of them was almost visible as the Hosts were watching from behind a building.

"How could he call himself a host club member!? This is the lamest excuse for a date I've ever seen! I should switch with Hikaru, I'll show her a good time!" Tamaki exclaimed as Kaoru held him back.

"That would ruin everything!" Kaoru shouted back to him.

"He's not good at doing things last minute is he?" Daniel replied watching. He could see Hikaru was stressed from here.

Tamaki was pushing on Kaoru's head trying to get him to let go of him. "Get out there Kyoya! Act like a punk and pick a fight with Haruhi so Hikaru will have to rescue her!" He exclaimed to the male, angry at how the date was like.

Kyoya hook his head as he pushed up his glasses. "Where do you dream this stuff up?"

"Ice cream! Ice cream! Does anyone want ice cream?" Honey called attempting to do an old man impersonation while pulling an ice cream cart by Hikaru and Haruhi. This caused Kaoru and Tamaki to gasp in near horror before Mori ran in and grabbed the small blonde before Haruhi and Hikaru noticed anything.

"Bad idea." Mori told Honey as he hid behind a wall as Honey holds an ice cream.

Hikaru blinked as he looked at the place where Honey and Mori vanished. "That was creepy. That old guy kinda looked like Honey-Senpai." He said and looked over next to him to Haruhi but freaks out a bit when she wasn't there.

Daniel kept watching them while the others were distracted, snickering a bit at ho easy Hikaru lost Haruhi. It was cute. Daniel paused when that thought crossed his mind. 'He's not cute, just silly.' He corrected mentally.

"One Ice cream please." Haruhi was heard as she stood at an ice cream stand. Hikaru got up and headed over.

"You shouldn't run off like that, Haruhi." Hikaru told her watching her get an ice cream cone.

"I heard this place is famous for their ice cream." She replied turning to him and holding the cone out. "Here, I'll let you have the first taste." She told him smiling.

Hikaru frowned a bit, looking at the ice cream questionably before grabbing her hand that's around the cone and bends down to taste it. "If it sucks then we're playing a penalty game." He told her before being pushed back by Tamaki, who was dressed as the ice cream vender.

"What a pretty young lady, here's another one for you on the house!" Tamaki said in a different voice while handing Haruhi an ice cream.

Haruhi took the cone from him. "Thank you, sir." She said before trying it. "Delicious!" She commented.

Hikaru watched her before trying his own. "You're right, it is pretty good." He said and smiled a bit thinking about coming back here

"I bet Daniel and Kaoru would enjoy coming here." Haruhi said looking over at Hikaru as his face erupted in red.

"How did-" Hikaru started before Haruhi smiled.

"I can just tell." She hummed walking while Hikaru followed after her.

Kaoru, meanwhile was in the vendor shop shaking Tamaki as the actual vendor stands there confused. "What do you think you're doing!? It was finally going well! What would've happened if they had seen us? You almost blew our cover!" He hissed at the other.

Tamaki had tears pouring from his eyes while this happened. "You think I'm going to let them share an ice cream cone like a couple!? That's indirect kissing!" He replied back.

"Let's just get out of this poor vendor's stall." Daniel grumbled grabbing them by their collars, apologizing to the vendor while getting them out.

Haruhi and Hikaru were just walking through the market looking at everything before Haruhi picked up a small package. "According to this, they're pickled yams! Pretty weird huh." She said as Hikaru rolled his eyes standing next to her.

"C'mon, pickled food is so lame. Who'd want to eat that crap?" He questioned as Haruhi stabs one with a toothpick before holding it up to Hiakru.

"Try it." She told him as Hikaru looked at her.

The male sighed and and eats it anyway and looks to the side at the taste. "Mm it's not that bad..." He mumbled as he ate the food.

Haruhi smiled and looked back to the vendor. "I'll take two bags of these please." She told the vender.

"You're not supposed to buy souvenirs until the last day of your trip. You're going to be in Karuizawa for a while, right?" Hikaru looked at her as she grabbed the bag.

"These are a gift, I'm getting them for Kaoru." She told him as the other's eyes widen. She turned to him with a smile on her face. "Hey listen, do you think the others would be up for souvenir shopping tonight? We could always come back to these shops later and pick out a few more gifts for Kaoru." She said as Hikaro frowned a bit, confused, looking to the side.

"I don't understand... How can you tell I'm upset about Kaoru?" He asked her.

"I just can. Just like how I know when you're thinking about Daniel." She told him as he sweatdrops. "Well, let's go." She told him walking past him as Hikaru smiles slightly, following her and they're able to spend the day normally and messing around while going to shops.

"We take our eyes off of them for a second and suddenly everything's great!" Kaoru commented as they watched them.

"That's true, but I get the feeling Haruhi's the one in charge here." Kyoya replied.

"It makes sense, Hikaru is alone so why would he do something without his brother's input." Daniel replied as Kaoru blankly looked at him as Daniel noticed. "Am I wrong?" He asked Kaoru.

"It looks like the ice cream stand helped smooth things over!" Honey said happily.

"I doubt it." Mori told him.

"We should get going, if we get caught, it's going to ruin everything." Kaoru said before looking over at Tamaki. "And anyway, I don't think the boss can handle much more of this." Kaoru stated as Tamaki hid behind a pole, watching Haruhi and Hikaru while crying a river silently.

"It looks like so much fun... Lucky..." Tamaki whimpered.

~Later~

Daniel was looking out the window of the pension along with Kaoru, Kyoya and Honey. Daniel had a frown on his face looking at the rain pelt down outside.

"Check out that lightning." Kaoru said as the sky flashed white before thunder was heard afterwards.

"I hope those two didn't get stuck in the rain..." Honey said softly while holding his bunny.

"They're probably fine, Honey." Daniel tried to comfort the other, but he was nervous in reality. He didn't like when he didn't know if his friends were safe or not. He glanced over at Tamaki as the other was pacing quickly, small whimpers coming from him.

"Tamaki dear, please try to settle down." Misuzu told Tamaki making the other point to the door nervously.

"I should go and look for them." He told them before the phone rings and Misuzu answers it with a happy tone.

"Hello!~ This is the Penision Misuzu!~ Oh it's you Arai! What is it? What? Haruhi and Hikaru?" They replied as Daniel looked over with Tamaki once hearing their names. "Hm... Mm... Thank you, Hikaru should have his cell with him so I'll try giving him a call. Goodbye now." They hung up the phone and turned towards the hosts.

Daniel couldn't help but look back outside now even more worried. "Evidently, Hikaru left Haruhi in front of the produce shop and decided he'd head back on his own." Misuzu told them making Daniel's eyes widen as Tamaki and Kaoru gasp.

"Arai said Haruhi took off after Hikaru and that's when it started pouring. He was worried, so he called to make sure they made it home okay." They finished.

Tamaki glares slightly, Daniel looking at Tamaki, not used to seeing him mad like this. The blonde took out his phone and started dialing Hikaru's number.

Meanwhile Hikaru was standing out in the rain with his headphones, barely getting cover from a tree before his phone starts ringing. "Hey what's up boss. You've got great timing, think you could send a cab to get me? I haven't had any luck hailing one." He told Tamaki expecting him to do so.

Tamaki grit his teeth as he was pissed. "You idiot! I want you to turn around and start looking for Haruhi right now! What kind of a jerk would leave a girl out in a thunderstorm like this by herself!? No you listen to me, Haruhi is terrified of thunder! Whenever she hears it, she gets so scared she can't even move! Why don't you spend less time concentrating on your jealousy and worry about someone else for once!" Tamaki shouted at him before hanging up.

Daniel just stared at Tamaki as he hung up before standing up from his seat looking outside at the rain. His heart raced a bit at the thought of them stuck out there, especially when one was scared of thunder. He grabbed his jacket and an umbrella.

"Wait, you're not seriously going out there are you?" Kaoru asked Daniel as the hosts looked at him.

"Yeah, our friends are out there. I'm not going to stand around and do nothing." He replied.

"It wouldn't be smart to leave in a storm like this." Tamaki started but Daniel cut him off.

"You care about Haruhi's fear, but BOTH of them are out there. It's not all about Haruhi, Tamaki. Hikaru's out there too you should care about how he feels being stuck in the storm too!" He shouted at the blonde making him pause as Daniel opened the door and ran out.

Daniel ran through the empty streets his umbrella open over his head. It was hard to see with how hard it was pouring but he managed to get to town and looking around for the produce shop.

Arai was in the building when he saw Daniel open the door. "Daniel, what are you doing out?"

"Which way did Haruhi and HIkaru run off to?" Daniel asked, the umbrella hardly doing it's job to keep him dry.

"He went off that, way, but why-" Arai started to ask him before he went back outside and continued running without letting the other finish.

"Hikaru! Haruhi!" Daniel shouted as he ran. The thunder not helping as it was louder than his voice.

He huffed as he ran on the dirt road before slipping and falling in the mud. "Damn it." He said as he grabbed his umbrella off the floor and getting himself up and continuing before pausing seeing a church, the doors wide open.

Daniel panted as he looked at the entrance before heading in. "Hikaru? Haruhi?" Daniel called hoping to hear them.

"Daniel?" He heard Hikaru's voice making the other run over and see them huddled together, Haruhi wearing Hikaru's headphones to block out the thunder.

"Thank goodness, you're both okay." Daniel said sitting on the ground catching his breath.

"Why are you out here?" Hikaru asked him looking at him and seeing him covered in mud.

"Because you were out in the storm and hearing Haruhi was scared of thunder." Daniel said and chuckled a bit. "I was worried about how you were doing." He told Hikaru looking at him.

Hikaru felt his face heat up a bit. "I'm fine, it's Haruhi who needed help more than me." He said and Daniel shook his head.

"Yeah, but you were still out here too." He spoke and Haruhi nodded a bit, barely hearing the conversation while she was too scared to speak up.

Hikaru looked at him before looking away blushing. "You look awful." He muttered and regretted it immediately after saying it but paused when Daniel laughed.

"Yeah I do." He replied smiling.

~Few Days Later~

Arai walks into the pension with a smile. "What's up!" He called in.

Haruhi looked over as she was working, dressed up in her apron. "Hey! Good morning Arai." She smiled at the other.

Arai smiled more and held up a watermelon. "I brought you a watermelon. My uncle's got the best in town." He said as the others walking over.

"Oh wow! It's huge!" Honey commented.

"That's certainly an impressive melon!" Tamaki said with a smile.

Daniel nudged Hikaru over as the other walks up a bit nervously as Arai looks over. Hikaru looked at him and Arai smiles, handing him the watermelon. "Here." He said to the twin.

Hikaru smiles grabbing it. "Thanks a lot." He replied.

Kyoya and Kaoru were on top of the balcony watching the others. "By the way... A question about your strategy. Did you ever consider the possibility the date might go too well and those two might fall in love?" Kyoya hummed.

Kaoru look over at Kyoya with a smile before looking back down at the others. "Nah Hikaru's kind of a dummy especially with his feelings for Daniel already." Kaoru chuckled a bit.

Tamaki looks up at the two on the balcony. "Hey come down here it's time for some melon!" He called the two.

Kyoya pushes up his glasses. "Well, then he's lucky because our club's full of dummies." He said before the two moved to head down.

Ichimatsu Is Bae: Wow, Jiro is dating Nekozawa-senpai, that was completely unexpected. He's so lucky too, he got to go to Hawaii.

Yeah, I have another story that is connected to this one that just involves Daniel's friends called 'I'm Not A Girl! The Side Story' I haven't updated it in awhile but there are connections if you are interested, it's a little more mature with themes though so be warned in some things.

From Fanfiction:

ImagineStories (chapter 14): I'm so glad that Aaron is a good guy! I was worried at first his character was going to turn out to be some sort of threat to Daniel, either being pushy with his affections, and/or finding out he's a guy and reacting horribly/threatening him. But he's actually so sweet!

It didn't even cross his mind to use this information against him. Like, there wasn't any disgust or anger at being "deceived", just confusion and a bit of internal panic at realizing he might be bi/pan (though it seems like he might not know these terms yet).

And I appreciate that his panic wasn't even in a "being gay is wrong/gross" way, but in a "suddenly my whole self-perception is shifting, 'cause I thought I was straight, but knowing Daniel's a guy doesn't change that I am still hopelessly crushing on him and holy shit has it always been like this?!" kinda way.

But anyways!

I'm going to read on :) Thanks for the cute story!

Yeah I couldn't do that to Aaron, He's too much of a sweety to turn him into an obstacle like that. I'm glad you like what I did with him! There may be more of Aaron in the future but who knows

iHateFridays: Arai! Great chapter :D

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

Blooky(2): "How Haruhi could act like nothing was happening was beyond him, it was probably due to her being here longer than he was."

whoop whoop caught a mistake! (i think.) dani here refers to haruhi with "her", and unless he found out about her real gender then it should be "him"! i believe. pronouns can be confusing. especially now that theres two of them acting like their other gender LOL

tho if haruhi can rock the boys' uniform, dani can totally rock the girls' uniform too! dont be so glum- youre slaying and thats what matters LOL

i was like naw the host club randomly letting a commoner they dont know into their club?? and their first female host too?? after meeting her (him) for 5 minutes at most???? thats not very believable, is it? then i remmebered they made haruhi into an errand boy. then again... haruhi only got the job because she broke the vase and had to repay it... then became a host because she's really cute and tamaki is a simp... oh. theres the reason - theyre simps for danielle LMAOOOOO

Pretty much, lol They're big simps, also yeah a bit of a slip up, I don't have to worry about it now for Haruhi in these later chapters though, lol

Blooky (8): wait HAHA i was picturing yaribu fujisaki too! probably because he's also extremely shy and is in love with a club member. and follows them around.. and stalks them... ok, there IS a bit of a difference BUT the vibe is similar LOL

I don't know who that is, but from the sounds of them yeah, I can see it, not the stalking, Aaron is a precious good bean

Blooky (18): go for it, hikaru!

Blooky (22): if this happened in japanese then i suppose using wrong pronouns wouldnt be as much of a problem LOL

nooo daniel!! your gorgeous long silky hair!! it was such a good foil to haruhi's short hair... but oh well, im sure you'll rock the short hair nonetheless. (good luck to hikaru ^^)

Blooky (23): hikaru and daniel date PLSSSSSS

In due time. In due time

Kokobeans: Embrace the gayness Aaron !!

He will in time, lol
