“Congrats, Karua!”

As Lana congratulated Karua, having just upgraded to an advanced job, Karua made ‘V’ sign with both her hands.

Ohh, now that was something new. She would usually make one ‘V’ sign, but today, she had been making two.

I guess I should read it as she was also happy. Now that I had another look, her face showed more expression than usual.

I also took my turn to wish her.

“Congratulations on the advanced job, Karua.”

“Hn, thank you, Zephyr. Now I can brag in front of my group.”

“Uh-huh, just having it doesn’t make you the brightest. You ought to show them through your actions.”

“Oh, I didn’t know. Hn, then I will do my best, and clear the advanced dungeon.”

“That’s the spirit, we’re on all the same path!”

A motivation to take a step toward the new height was the way to go, yeah.

After that, Karua was taken into a hug by Lana, and then took her to where other girls were. It looked like a girl's gathering time more than anything else.

Receiving other girls' congratulations, Karua’s expressions were more lax than ever before. It goes to show what a monumental happening it should have been for her. Her whole visage was radiating with an aura of happiness.

Once the squealing voices had died down, it became by turn, prompted by the question of Sierra.

“So…which job you’re going to take, Zephyr?”

“No fair, I want to know too!”

“We’re talking about Zephyr, I am sure each of his jobs must be something incredible.”

“Hmm, the advanced version of «Brave»... «Brave» was already a miraculous one, I can only imagine what would be ahead of it.”

“Zephyr’s going to be in V-V squad?”

Sierra, Hannah, Lana, Ester and Karua respectively shifted their gazes on me.

With «Advance Job Ascension Ticket» grasped between my fingers, I took my signature pose for a moment and touched the «Dragon Statue».

Oh, and I have already used jewel. Ah, I mean, you know, it was the moment for Brave’s advanced job to shine, so I used my pocket money to kind of…err, clear all the available conditions available of all types, leaving no one! I was just as into it after all! Just like the last time!

——What the hell is «Demon King» doing at my glorious stage!

Ah, umm, forgive me. It was hard to control myself there.

Any player would find it hard to ignore…it was almost at the gag level. So let me off for now.

Ahem-ahem. Let me start my lecture on «Brave».

さらにこの【魔王】系に就いている時しかできない専用の魔王イベントや魔王エンディングなんかも用意されていて中々味わい深かった。

ちなみに【大魔王】は魔法型、【真の魔王】は接近物理型の職業ジョブだ。

どちらに就きたいかは好みによるな。

さて、【魔王】はこの辺でいいだろう。【勇者】行くぞ、【勇者】！

Starting from low-ranking option to top-ranking one, there were a total of five upgrade routes for «Brave». The direct route was «Holy One», and «The True Darklord» was its alter version.

Huh, dark one tickle your interest more than the path of justice? I had been the same. So let’s begin with them first.

——«Demon King» Route.

The origin of this comes from the saying ‘there’s only a paper thin difference between a hero and a demon king. (Eh, you don’t know? Don’t ask me when I don’t as well. Either way, the meaning should be obvious enough.)

If «Brave» resorts to some underhanded means, he shall fall to the path of the dark king. Before anyone begin with anything, I suuuuure as hell haven’t done anything to make me Demon King alright. But moving on, choosing the path of «Demon King» would render all the previous Brave’s skills, magic and Unique unusable. However, in return, the job grants multiple Demon King skills or Demon king Spell which when taken to level 10 makes them comparable to ‘Unique-class.’ And I kid you not, they’re ridiculously overpowered. Usually, if it had been someone’s choice, then the best way to start was from «Brave», stocking all the possible SP without using them.

Furthermore, there were even special events and Demon King ending prepared exclusively for «Demon King» jobs if that’s what you picked up. They’re not just some flashy addition after all. …Ah, I doubt it would happen in reality though.

Incidentally, «Great Demon Lord» was the mage-type job, while «The True Darklord» was a pure physical fighter. The choice was dependent on user’s preference.

Now, coming to «Brave» route, which were three.

The truth path for it was «Holy One». It overall enhances «Brave»’s available skill, magic etc, tuning up the all-rounder factor. In short, it was strongest in the basic stuff.

Though, then comes the «True Lightbearer» that surpasses it.

By player base, it had been nicknamed «Hero that slays the Demon King» as well. It was the typical alias for the heroes who had traversed through a treacherous ordeal to kill the last boss—Demon King at the end of their journey in your RPG games. Though it was another job in the «Dungeon Activity».

Well, there’s no quest such as ‘O’ the hero, slay the demon king’ otherwise to achieve it though.

But it was strong—incredibly strong. The unlocked «Skill» and «Magic» all took after the lightning attribute. Its multi-hit lightning spells were capable of decimating the enemies from the face of earth along with the ground they stood on, and I mean literally—that were terrain transforming spells. Then there was one spell where you would have the lightning crawling onto your body like garb, which was so cool—cough, I mean ultimately strong. It had often been my one of thre frequent picks in the game.

And now coming to the finale—though well, as far as it had been concerned in the established setting of the game, much about it was still hidden around.

All that was known was—in a faraway past, bringing salvation to the world, it was the oldest and legendary job that was created by the ancient hero to vanquish the demons and bring in an era of peace. And that was «Gloria Salvator».

The role of this job was special, and to be honest, it was largely seen as a profession designed for triggering events and endings. Or well, that was how in the game.

Taking it from a performance angle, «The True Lightbearer» was obviously the strongest job, and a fan-favourite. It checked many cool factors , and its best attack—«Lightning Tribulation», was an AoE attack where you rain down lightning one after another.

Meanwhile, «Gloria Salvator» was an all-rounder job, much like «Holy One». Of course, it was incomparable in offence. But, then again, it had the «Dragon» tame ability so there was no clear black and white like situation. It’s just «The True Lightbearer» was a more straightforward job. However, a hero riding the dragon was also the classic tale… it’s really a tough battle.

Anyway, back to the topic, «Gloria Salvator» was indisputable to access most of the events and endings in the game. The protagonist must have it if they wanted to access them.

—«Save the World Event».

An exclusive ending could be achieved by clearing this.

Frankly, I was hard leaning on «The True Lightbearer». I knew everything about it like the back of my hand, which was one of the factor, but more than anything, it was cool. Its strength was indisputable too.

Also, I might sound paradoxical here, but I have the hunch that it may trigger ‘world saving event’ and I wanted to avoid that.

The ‘Save the world’ was a storyline developers had put their heart and soul in making and honestly, it would be sliiiiiiightly dangerous if those events actually happened. It the greatest finale that encases whole of the world!

It sounds interesting of course, but a wise man had once said the key to live longer is keeping yourself away from danger. So I choose…… «The True Lightbearer»!

—I decided, or had just made up my mind when my «intutuion» flared up.

“Hey, hey, for real……. I should chose that?”

“Hmm? «Great Demon Lord?”

“Woahh there, I am not choosing «Great Demon Lord»!”

Soooo close. I had almost ended up selecting «Great Demon Lord» it as Lana let out a startled voice at the oddest timing she could have chosen.

I was not fitting for «Great Demon Lord».

——My intuition had reacted with… «Gloria Salvator».

“What happened, Zephyr-kun?”

“—Hannah?”

As I stood frozen in front of the list of job, Hannah looked at me with curious eyes.

“I guess even you have never seen advanced jobs of «Brave» huh, Zephyr. It’s the first time I am seeing a visible look of hesitation on your face.”

Sierra said, and it’s then it finally clicked me.

So that was it, I hesitated here huh. Recalling back, nothing had ever put me in confusion ever since I come to thetis word. If anything, I should props it (?) for making me hesitate huh,

“So these are the advanced job for «Brave»...... I bet royal palace’s people would be flaggbersated if they saw this list.”

“Heh, I kind of want to see that happening.”

Lana tapped her chin with her fingers as he put her impression. Ester on the sideline chuckle faintly.

Well, I couldn't say I wasn’t interested as well. Maybe I see keep the name of job hidden for a while.

“Still, I never heard about any of these jobs……”

Sierra took a look at my job’s list and explained with knitted brows.

“Also, I don’t know what that Demon King jobs are about but it’s giving me some uncanny vibes.

“Hn. It would be better to not select it, Zephyr.”

“Oh, well, that was never my choice so relax.”

I reassured both Sierra and Karua as they showed an worried expression.

So it seemed like they—or this world for that matter, haven’t heard about Demon King related jobs so far.

Well, yeah, it might give uncanny vibes, and sometimes even chuckle mainiacally, but otherwise it was a great job.

“You can’t decide which one, Zephyr-kun?”

“Hmm, yeah. This is indeed a pickle. I can’t decide between «The True Lightbearer» or the «Gloria Salvator».”

“Hn. Then how about this one?”

Karua nonchalantly pointed out at—«Gloria Salvator.»

Right, she was also the holder of «Intutition». No wait, so it really wanted me to choose «Gloria Salvator»?

Oh heavens. I reflecively looked up at the sky—though reflected in my eyes was only ceiling of their room.

Karua’s «Intutition» had often come out as correct. No, frankly speaking, It’s actually correct almost all the time.

Both Karua’s, and mine «Intutition» were pitching for the same thing. Lana, who had been staring at the list, also nodded.

“Oww, I was thinking it sounds great as well.”

—Stab!

I think I just received a critical hit. Holy crap. Lana’s intuition was so close to the home even without the skill. Considering the holiness her job was based on, her words carried most weight. And her intuition was pointed at «Gloria Salvator» as well.

Kuh, what’s with that setup?!

I took a deep, really deep breath and exhaled.

Haa… man, it’s giving me a jittery vibe. Was it the foreshadowing for the upcoming event? But either way, I had found my choice.

«The True Lightbearer» was forsaken by all, while «Gloria Salvator» was receiving everyone’s attention.

Hmm-mm… whatever, when it happens, it happens.

«The True Lightbearer» was strong, but it wasn’t the chosen one for whom I would ignore all the telltale signs. Besides, I do wanted to try riding a ‘Dragon’ with the «Gloria Salvator».

My base skill setup was sketched in an all-rounder manner, so it wasn’t a problem whether I choose «The True Lightbearer» or «Gloria Salvator».

Either way, there was no second guessing here. And so, I—selected «Gloria Salvator».

——From today onward, I shall be the «Gloria Salvator»!
