âThat only happened a few years back. Your necklace is already more than twenty years old.â Olivia nodded seriously. âYeah.
Making fakes must be a tradition then.â
Eugene was amused by that reply, and he laughed. Olivia laughed too. âI better hide this tomorrow, or theyâd think I stole it.â
Eugene held her hand. âWhat are you afraid of? We didnât do anything wrong.â
Olivia nodded. âI know, but Iâd rather deal with less problems. Iâm going back now. You get some sleep.â And she tried to leave.
Eugene held her hand. âHold on a second.â Olivia yawned. âIâm tired. I want to sleep.â
Eugene wouldnât let her go. âYou can sleep here.â The corner of her lips twitched. Sleep here? Are you kidding? I know you. You might look like a cute little puppy now, but if I actually sleep here, youâd become a big bad wolf in moments. âNo. Iâm going home.
Iâm used to sleeping in my own bed.â
Eugene sighed. âFine.â Olivia was surprised that he agreed so quickly. She thought she would have to spend some time convincing him. Well, that was fast. But just when she was about to pull her hand away, he stood up and said seriously, âIâll have to go with you then.â
Hey, do you think Iâm stupid? Do you think I donât know what youâre thinking? Coming back with me is the same thing as me staying here. âWhy are you coming with me? Iâm going home to sleep.â
Eugene looked at her innocently. âDonât you need someone to warm your bed?â âNo.â
âItâs cold.â
âItâs not.â âBut I am cold. I need someone to warm my bed.â Olivia stomped on his foot angrily. Eugene didnât even dodge her, though he pouted. âHey, youâre burning the bridge.â
Olivia said, âI donât remember crossing a bridge before.â âYou did. I cooked for you and taught you how to play the piano,â
Eugene answered. Olivia was speechless. Heâs going all out, huh? â1 donât care. Youâre sleeping at home.â
âI can share a room with my son.â âHe doesnât want to share a room with you.â âWeâve been sharing a room when you arenât here.â Oh, really? âSo youâre saying he loves you more than he loves me?â
Eugene wouldnât step into that trap. âNo! I love you more than anything.â Olivia snorted. âI love my son more. You stay at home.
Donât forget youâre still in the observation period.â She wanted to pull her hand out, but he still wouldnât let her go. He was looking at her coolly. âDo you think Iâd let you go?â
See? I told you that the puppy face was fake. This is his true self, but nothing I canât handle. She looked up haughtily. âWhy arenât you letting me go? Do you want a girlfriend or not?â
Goddammit. âI want a girlfriend.â Olivia then talked to him like he was three. âThen let me go and sleep by yourself, alright?â
Eugene was amused. You think Iâm North? Not even he needs this. âKiss me and Iâll let you go.â
Olivia glared at him angrily. âYouâre still in the observation period.â
