A guy asked me to be his girlfriend two years ago on Valentine's Day. I didn't really want to but all my friends were there, as well as his, and I was pressured into saying yes.
I think he liked me but was scared to initiate anything. I didn't have the heart to tell him I never wanted to be with him, so I carried on playing along. People always teased us, sometimes in a nasty way, for not being a "real" couple because we didn't have sex or anything like that. I never told anyone I didn't like my "boyfriend" in case he found out from someone else, so I kept it secret.
This carried on for a sixteen months.
After that, we graduated from that school and I was so happy to finally be away from all that pressure.
Now I've moved on with my life, I am in a much happier relationship. However, the other guy and I never actually ended our relationship. We just... stopped speaking.
I avoid speaking to people from my old school at all costs, and I was always afraid to tell the truth to my parents about my situation, so this will be the first time anyone has heard the true story.
