After I left I noticed that Outside the house I could see familiar limousine. Standing next to it was the well built attachment to boyish grin.
"Don't tell me you wanted to give me a lift to school." I said.
Alexander waved his head.
"That and little surprise."
I didn't have a good feeling about it passing the test. I was still a little despondent about not finding the next clue to the Maze at the governor's mansion. I think the problem was I was missing something and of all the things I find annoying that was the worst. All was lost. My stomach had large stone in it at the idea I would never see the town or anyone again. So I decided to let Alexander have his way with me one last time. I slipped into the limousine and landed on the soft Italian leather. Alexander slipped in after me and of the huge space available inside the car decided to sit right up to me.
We drove to the school. While we did Alexander pressed a button and TV set emerged from the seats before us and a picture came to life.
"I own one of the TV channels the fun-fun-fun channel, " said Alexander.
The fun-fun-fun channel was a channel dedicated to short 2home made videos of people falling over, slipping in things, having accidents. 24 hours of people engaged in accidental self harm. It was the most popular channels on television and Youtube. To break up the monotony of one funny accident they had a program called 'Don't look now' which played unpleasant tricks on people.Wow if Alexander did own Fun-Fun-Fun he controlled what 90% of what people watched.
The TV was getting a shot from a camera crew. I recognised the space outside our school. I looked up and out of the window and saw a group of four people. One of the four carried a TV camera, another a microphone all rushing towards Amanda Caltrhop. Looking back to the TV
"We are looking for Amanda Caltrhop" said someone who looked like Harry Styles to people. "Looking for Amanda Caltrhop."
"Is that..." I said pointing to the screen.
"4K HD record your right," said Alexander... " and I got Harry Styles to front the program for some reason. "
People pointed to Amanda and then got back to looking worried about the exam. Eventually they rushed up to Amanda.
" are looking for Amanda Caltrhop," said the Harry Styles.
"I'm Amanda Caltrhop" said Amanda on the screen.
"That fantastic." said the Harry Styles "I'm Harry Styles and we are from the Fun-Fun-Fun channel. On national test day we are doing a series called America's most smartest people. "
"No way," said Amanda.
"Yes way. To celebrate the self sacrifice of some many of our best and brightest, we wrote to each school asking for their most brilliant and you name was on top of their list" said the Harry Styles.
"I'm listening," said Amanda now stopping in her tracks.
"Good. well given the smartest students are most likely to pass the test we wanted to give you the opportunity to earn one million dollars for your family, just by answering some really brainy questions. If you win by getting the most questions right, you can have what ever you like inscribed on the bottom of the solid gold statue to."
Amanda looked around. Her parents were hanging around like many of the town and nodded. There was still plenty of time before the test we had to arrive early to drop our bags off before the test to be checked for bombs and contraband. If we passed the test we have 20 minutes to say good by to our family before leaving.
"Sure" Amanda nodded, for and infected she was never shy at an opportunity to show off her so called brains.
"So Amanda Calthop?" said the Harry Styles.
"Is that the first question?" said Amanda.
"No, Just warming you up. Your first question is multiple choice. A school is a kind of a) a type of prison b) a kind of kidnapping c) a group of dolphins or d) an educational institution?"
"D an educational institution," said Amanda. "it's actually an institution of education."
"Well done!" said Harry Styles. "So the next question Amanda Caltrop of Springfalls is... Where do you find a Farmer is it; a) on a Farm , b) on a ship, c) in an art gallery d) Up your nose?"
"Well I was going to say up your nose, on a Farm sounds too simple... but I'm going to say yes on a Farm"
"So you answer to Where do you find a Farmer is is on a Farm?" said the presenter.
"Yep" said Amanda.
The attraction of Harry Styles and a TV camera made a crowd was form around Amanda.
"Well done." said Harry.
Amanda if not leapt for joy then certainly bobbed seriously for joy.
"Wonderful" Harry began "now for the final question which if you get right will get you a million dollars. So Amanda R Caltrop the final question is...."
At this point Amanda changed her gaze from the camera to Harry.
"errr. Your wrong it's not. Amanda R Caltrop I'm. Amanda P Caltrop. P for Penelope." said Amanda.
"Your not Amanda R Caltrop?" said Harry he held his hand written list up.
"I'm the only Amanda Caltrop in this school," said Amanda, which was rigth.
"Oh We'll I'm sorry to have wasted your time Amanda P Caltrop." said Harry standing up. Harry then walked off in to the crowd. shouting "Amanda R Caltrop! Amanda R Caltrop anyone, calling Amanda R Caltrop"
Amanda was left in the crowd fuming and now a million dollars short.
Alexander sat back.
"The wrong Amanda Caltrop" said Alexander smirking "that's really unfortunate. Such a shame."
"You organised all this for my benefit," I asked him.
"No I organised it for the benefit of millions of viewers on television and my self who makes the profits at the end of the day, but your welcome. I just wanted to say you have a good test."
At this the driver opened the door and held his hand out.
"See you soon," said Alexander.
"What. If I pass the test. They will drive me off to Overworld." I said worrying if that made me sound to clever.
"I wouldn't worry about that," said Alexander.
Wow go vote of confidence for my intelligence. I smouldered and walked away. He didn't think I was smart enough to pass the test? A almost wanted to prove him wrong. I looked around time to do the test.
