3rd Person's POV
After the class, When third years were walking towards their next class. Hermione pulled Y/n closer as they were walking. She scooted close to Y/n, so no one else could hear them.
"How did you do it?" Hermione whispered to Y/n
"I'm gonna need to more than that" Y/n replied not understanding what Hermione was talking about
"You took the three classes on right time!! I was late every five minutes to each of those class, I just don't get it. You were with Harry and Ron all the time, How did you manage to-- you know what" Hermione whispered
"I told you before, Hermione. I've been taking practice.. even if you know about my time turner, you will never catch me using it.. I've gotten too sharp for it. Even the teachers won't be able to tell if I'm using it or not." Y/n replied
"Then, teach me how to do it the way you do" Hermione pleaded
"Sorry, Hermione. But Uncle taught me and while doing it he said that the procedure is top secret. I can't teach you" Y/n smiled at Hermione pouted face. They walked outside the castle for their next class 'The Care for Magical Creatures' which Hagrid was going to teach.
As, they walking down the stepping stones. Ron asked
"You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black?" Ron asked his friends
"well, Honestly, Ron. If you ask me, Divination's a woolly discipline.." Hermione replied "Now, Ancient Runes, that's a fascinating subject"
"I agree with you Hermione, It was more worth listening than Divination" Y/n replied going with the flow.
"Ancient Runes???? Wasn't that the subject that was on same time as Divination?? How do you two know the lesson was good? You were at Divination at that time. You two had to be in two classes at once for that to happen." Ron said being confused
"Don't be silly. How could anyone be in two classes at once?" Hermione said and walked further making fun of Professor Trelawney's words. Harry seemed at little down, so Y/n decided to comfort him.
"Hey, Don't listen to what Professor said. okay?" Y/n told Harry but he didn't look convinced. Looking at that, Y/n signed and said "Jake said that most of what she says is just show-off. Its never true. Jake's words I quote 'She just makes up bunch of crappy words, so that people can believe that Her Inner Eye is still working'...  So, about the Grim.. it can be wrong.. there's alot of chances it could be"
"But, I could be right.. She could be saying right" Harry muttered
"And Why do you find it so believable?" Y/n asked raising her eyebrow
"I... I" Harry was thinking if he should mention about what he saw before getting into The Knight Bus. Part of him, didn't want to tell anyone but he realized that it was Y/n, He could tell her anything, She was best-friend and he felt like if she knew, she'll just find a way to solve the problem.
"Harry? If you don't want to say then its okay, really-" Y/n got off by Harry himself
"The night the arrived at Leaky Cauldron.. you know, before The Knight Bus arrived.. I-I saw a... dog" Harry said to Y/n, as she was listening curiously
"So....... what??" Y/n asked
"The Dog!! Isn't the symbol of The grim a Dog?" Harry said in little worried tone
"Harry!" Y/n said stopping in her tracks making Harry do the same. "You just saw a dog.... There's nothing wrong with that.. Those cute little beings are everywhere!!!" Y/n said with very warming smile.
"But.. The dog I saw wasn't cute at all..... He was... more like.... Scary " Harry said remembering the past events
"That just makes him more likable for me" Y/n said. Harry chuckled right after listening her.
"You have a very unusual preferences" Harry chuckled and begun walking
"I don't think its my fault to like something different" Y/n giggled as they walked together to their friends. Ron was still asking Hermione, if she took the class of Muggle Studies or not. Hermione didn't want to reply to Ron, so she started walking faster towards Hagrid's Hut leaving Ron alone.
"Don't do that if you want her to keep helping you with your homework" Y/n said as she reached Ron and walked away to catch up with Hermione. When they reached Hagrid's Hut, Where Hagrid was standing. Y/n felt that Hagrid was nervous even if he wasn't showing it. When Hagrid's eyes met Y/n's, she signaled Hagrid to take a deep breath. Hagrid smiled and did as Y/n said.
"That's it! come on, now. Come closer. Less talking, if you don't mind" Hagrid said pointing at Lavender and Parvati who were still talking to each other about Divination.
"I got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So follow me" Hagrid told everyone. Y/n smiled proudly at Hagrid's sudden confidence. He led them to the front part of the forest. There were very few trees. They kept walking a little further, a small ground with no trees came in sight. It was more like a paddock.
"Right, you lot... less clattering. Form a group over there. And open your books to page 49" Hagrid told them.
"Exactly, How do we do that??" Malfoy asked in drawling voice
"Just stroke the spine, of course...Goodness me" Hagrid replied not believe that the students were this oblivious
Everyone did as Hagrid told, When Malfoy did it, he was impressed by Hagrid and the book but he covered it with a scoff. Neville opened the belt before stroking it spine, that's why the book attacked him
"Don't be such a wimp, Longbottom." Crabbe laughed at Neville as he crossed him.
"Mind your own business, Crabbe!!" Y/n snapped as she walked over to Neville. Except few friends, Everyone thought of Y/n and Jake as superiors, that's why Crabbe did not say anything to her and walked away.
Y/n bent and cautiously stroke The book's spine and the book made a purring voice and opened quietly on Neville's lap. Neville's uniform was almost torn but just few stitching charms and it will be as good as new.
"You alright?" Y/n asked standing up
"Yeah, I'm okay.. thank you" Neville replied calming his breathes
"Don't mention it" Y/n said grinning "page 49" She told Neville as drift off to her friends.
"I think they're funny" Y/n heard Hermione say as she approached them.
"oh, yeah. terribly funny" Malfoy's voice came from near a tree. Everyone turned to him.
'I really deserve a award for not smiling!!!! It's my favorite line!!' Y/n thought as she signed in order to suppress her smile.
"Really Witty, God! this place has gone to the dogs!! wait until My father hears Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes!" Malfoy said annoyedly. His goons laughed.
"Shut up, Malfoy" Harry said coldly walking in front. He had enough, he wanted Hagrid's first class to be perfect. Y/n and Ron smirked at Harry giving him encouragement. Malfoy and his goons woo-hooed at Harry's sudden confidence.
Everyone crowded them, Malfoy walked towards Harry in his iconic way. As he stood in front of him. He looked up behind Harry and acted like he was scared, he took few steps back as he said
"D-dementor! Dementor!!" Malfoy said pointing at the Air. Everyone looked where he pointed, being horrified. Y/n didn't turn and just rolled her eyes. Malfoy and his goons burst into laughter looking at everyone's reaction. Harry looked back at Malfoy, glaring at him.
Draco and his goons got their hoods up and they wooed at Harry pretending to be a dementor. Hermione walked towards Harry and dragged him back not before throwing an annoyed face at Malfoy.
"Just ignore him" Hermione told Harry as she dragged him back to his place.
"What happened to you?" Ron asked laughing at Neville. Y/n slapped his arms telling him not to make fun of Neville. Ron was to say something to Y/n but Hagrid cleared his throat earning everyone's attention.
"ta-ta-da!!!"Â Hagrid said excitedly pointing at the creature.
The creature was mixture of an eagle and horse. His face was of an eagle but his body was of a horse. His front feet seemed to be giant eagle's claws but behind he was completely like a horse. Except, he had big wings and was covered in grey fluffy feathers. His yellow eyes staring at the students who were watching him being astonished.
"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid asked excitedly. Y/n smiled and nodded looking at the creature. "Say hello to Buckbeak!" Hagrid said giving Buckbeak his treat
"Hagrid..... exactly, what is that?" Ron asked gulping
"He's a Hippogriff, Ron" Y/n replied smiling. Everyone looked at her neither knowing how she knew nor understanding how she managed to open the Monster Book.
"That's correct, Y/n!!! First thing you wanna know about Hippogriffs is that they're very proud creatures. very easily offended. You do not want to insult a Hippogriff. It may just be the last thing you ever do" Hagrid explained to everyone
"Now!!! who'd like to come and say hello?" Hagrid asked turning to check on Buckbeak. Y/n excitedly raised her hand. Everyone behind her had stepped back leaving Harry, who was busy staring at the creature and Y/n, who wanted to be friends with the hippogriff.
"Well done, Y/n, Harry!!" Hagrid said proudly. Harry, now, realized that everyone had stepped back leaving him and Y/n. "Come on now"
Y/n left her bag near the big stone and started walking while Ron pushed Harry at little, telling him to go as well.
"Now, you have to let him make the first move, it only polite so--" Hagrid was about to instruct them but not being able to control her excitement, Y/n bowed. Hagrid looked at her proudly, everyone stared at her in confusion. Buckbeak stared at her. Y/n peeked up to meet his eyes, she smiled slightly. Buckbeak saw her smile and bowed back. Y/n straighten up as everyone clapped for her. She smiled and winked at Buckbeak, who purred back.
"Your turn, Harry" Y/n said stepping back. Harry nervously nodded and stepped in front.
"So, as your saw Y/n... Give him a nice bow, Then you wait and see if he bows back at you like he did to Y/n. If he does, you two can go and touch him. If Not.. well, then only Y/n could do it" Hagrid instructed shrugging at the end.
"Just make your bow." Hagrid said and Harry bowed." Nice and low" Harry bowed a little more. As it was the second time, Being confused Buckbeak, chirped little loudly. "Back off, Harry. Back off!!" Hagrid said being caution. When Harry stepped back, he accidently stepped on a dry twig, breaking it. Y/n held her breath while few gasps were heard from the crowd.
"Keep still" Hagrid told Harry, He did stayed quiet and looked up at Buckbeak. Buckbeak looked at Y/n, asking if its safe, Y/n nodded telling him its alright. She knew because she have been training with Toothless and he does the same thing. Taking Y/n's nod as yes, Buckbeak bowed back.
"Well done, you two!! " Hagrid said happily while giving Buckbeak his treat. "Right. I think you two can go and pat him now" Hagrid said and Harry looked at him with horror, He looked back at Y/n but she smiled and extended her hand, pointing at Buckbeak. Telling him, he should go first.
Being Disappointed, Harry looked at Hagrid who said "Go on, Don't be shy". Harry stepped in front a little. "Nice and slow, now. nice and slow, slow," Harry walked towards Buckbeak and extended his hand "Not so fast, Harry!" Buckbeak chirped angrily at the sudden action. "Slow done, Harry. That's it..Nice and slow, Now, let him come to you" Hagrid told Harry.
Harry stopped in his tracks and kept his hand extended while Hagrid kept guiding him. Buckbeak stepped closer and smelled Harry's hand. After that he stepped closer to Harry, letting Harry pat him. Everyone clapped for him[except few]. Then Hagrid looked at Y/n.
"Your turn Y/n" Hagrid said smiling. Harry stepped to a side while still patting Buckbeak. He wanted to watch Y/n being success at this.
Y/n smiled as she was waiting for her turn. She looked at Buckbeak directly into his eyes and started walking towards him. She stopped leaving a big step space between her and Buckbeak. She held up her hand, showing Buckbeak that she has nothing. She extended the hand a little, so Buckbeak could smell it.
Knowing her actions, Buckbeak slowly smelt her hand, the fragrance of oranges ran through his nose, calming him. Y/n slowly touched his beak and slowly held her hand higher, patting Buckbeak between the space of his eyes. Remembering, Toothless's calming spot. She started sliding her hand under Buckbeak's chin. As she reached there, She scratched him there. Feeling the sudden comfort, Buckbeak Happily nuzzled to Y/n making her giggled loudly.
Harry was standing right next to her, he saw Y/n laughing closely. As he watched his best friend laugh, he felt warmness in his heart. He always felt like this whenever he saw his friends laugh happily. But something was different this time... Y/n was... she looked more prettier than usual. Harry thought that maybe it was because he saw her after a while now.
"I think he may let you two ride him now" Hagrid said approaching them. Y/n looked at him with excited eyes while Harry was horrified "What?"
"Come on" Hagrid said picking Harry up because he was closer. "Hey, hey, hey!!!" Harry said trying to stop Hagrid. But he didn't listen and he made Harry sit on Buckbeak. Y/n stepped closer to Hagrid and said "Back off, Harry"
"Why?" Harry asked trying to keep his balance.
"Because I want to sit in front" Y/n told him
"How come I have to sit back? Why can't you? I'm already up here you know" Harry said not wanting to sit back.
"Well, Because, You're obviously scared and I'm not.... so that's why... I'm going to sit in front... Hence, Back Off, Potter " Y/n said glaring at Harry.
"You know what, Harry? she deserves it, She did do better than you" Hagrid said as he picked Y/n up and made her sit on Buckbeak and in front of Harry. She looked back at Harry, grinning playfully.
"Now, Pull out any of his feathers, because he won't thank you for that...." Hagrid said and she slapped Buckbeak's behind making him run. Y/n grabbed Buckbeak tightly as Harry grabbed her. After few meters, Buckbeak spread his wings and BAM he took flight making Harry and Y/n scream in excitement.
As Buckbeak flew higher, The roughness of the flight became less. Y/n loosed her grip and she slowly sat straight.
"You can loosen your grip now, we're on perfect balance" Y/n said looking around at the view. Harry too, sat straight, he was thinking if he should keep holding Y/n's waist or not. He decided to move his hands away as he almost did it when Y/n stopped him.
"Don't do that.. You might fall.. keep your hands on my waist for support" Y/n said while staring at the beautiful view, not being bothered by it at all. Harry was her friend, so she didn't feel discomfort. While it was the other case for Harry. He placed his hands back at Y/n's waist, he could feel his cheeks burn.
'Is she really not bothered at all?' Harry thought looking away but not actually looking at something.
"Harry!! Look at That!!!" Y/n yelled showing Harry the small waterfall between the mountains. When Harry saw the view Y/n was looking at all this time, he forgot all about whatever he was feeling.
It. Was. Magnificent.
While, this was happening outside the castle grounds, inside in the castle, many fifth years were spending their time on the courtyard since it was their free period. Most of them were having fun while some were getting prepared for the next class. Not belonging in either of the category, A fifth Year Ravenclaw was sitting on the bench, staring at the sky, daydreaming about something.
"Why is she always with Potter!!??" The Ravenclaw Boy huffed
"Who?" His friend from same house, who was sitting next to him, asked.
"Harry Potter" The Boy said while still staring at the sky.
"No, who's always with him?" His friend asked, now, looking at the boy.
"Y/n Kim, who else?" The Boy replied looking at his friend.
"Y/n Kim?? Why in the world are you talking about her??" His friend asked
"Well, you know.. she's.. pretty nice.. and she's interesting.. and.. kind of perfect" The Boy told his friend, who looked back at him with mixture of surprised and disgusted.
"Bryan, Calm yourself... She's a third year... Very young for you" His friend said
"But--" Bryan got cut off by his friend.
"Besides, if her brother, Jake, hears us.... He'll probably murder us right away" His friend said
"What will lead me to murder both of you right away?" a familiar voice asked
Bryan and his friend look at each other with wide eyes and then turned behind them to find Jake standing while leaning against the stone handrail of the corridor behind them. Fred and George were with him as well.
"Yes, Desmond... What will?" George asked even thought he knew what the boys were talking about
"Something you don't have to worry about" Desmond laugh nervously with Bryan. Being in same class as Jake, They knew that Jake's anger can scare anyone.
"Oh really????" Fred said playfully as he sat next to Bryan. "I think it was about our Ravenclaw friend Bryan having a crush on someone's sister" Fred said playfully even though Desmond and Bryan were shaking their heads 'No'.
"Really??? Well then its nice you have crush on someone.. you can talk to her siblings for permission you know" Jake told the Ravenclaws, suggesting them an idea.
"really?" Desmond and Bryan asked being confused while Fred and George signed because their friend didn't take the hint.
"Mate, I meant your sister" Fred explained and Jake's eye darken to that
"What?! Is it true???!!" Jake asked coldly while glaring directly at Bryan's soul.
"No, no-no!!!! I was talking about, how she's nice to everyone" Bryan said getting away from Jake a little as he was approaching him.
"But, Desmond said that I'll try to harm you if I heard you.. that's means, that was not what you were talking about!!" Jake said while walking closer to the boy.
"Wait... is that.... Y/n??" George said and everybody turned to look at him to find him looking up at the sky. They followed his stare and saw that, Y/n and Harry were flying on The Hippogriff!. Everyone at the courtyard watched the two enjoy the ride. They laughed when Y/n yelled 'woo-hoo!'.
"They really are enjoying their class, aren't they? I wonder what Hagrid has for us" Desmond said looking at his juniors
"Its amazing but that's not fair! In our first class of 'The Care for Magical Creatures', We had to collect some old wood insect" Fred huffed
"It was Bowtruckle" Jake corrected him while chuckling. "Toothless is going to get mad if he finds out that he's not the first creature you took flight with" Jake muttered to himself
"See??? She's again with Potter, That lucky fellow" Bryan said to Desmond
"What now?" Jake asked glaring at him once again.
"N-Nothing" Bryan said raising his hands up, surrendering himself.
Buckbeak flew across The Hogwarts Castle and now was above The Black Lake. Harry felt that Buckbeak begun to fly slowly, So took his hands away from Y/n's waist and spread his arms feeling the air.
"Y/n!! Try this!!" Harry yelled
"Its okay, Harry!! You keep on!!" Y/n told him while laughing at his reaction. Harry yelled happily and Y/n joined him soon after.
After Buckbeak completed the full circle, he started flying to back to Hagrid. The two of them heard Hagrid whistle, calling Buckbeak back. Buckbeak flew a half circle and landed on the ground, Making Harry grab Y/n again. They heard everyone clapped for them
"Well done, Harry, Y/n and Well done Buckbeak" Hagrid said clapping
"That was wicked!!" Dean Thomas yelled to them.
"Well done, well done!" Hagrid said placing both Harry and Y/n back on the ground. "How am I doing doing me first day?" Hagrid asked them in whisper tone.
"Brilliant" Harry said and he looked at Y/n while smiling
"Professor" Y/n said bowing her head a little as a respect nod making Hagrid smile.
"You're not dangerous at all, are you?" A cold voice approached them "You great ugly brute!!"
"Draco, No!!!" Y/n yelled warning him but he didn't listen.
He scoffed at Buckbeak, disrespecting him. Buckbeak angrily screamed and used his claws to scratch Draco's arms. Hagrid tried to stop Buckbeak but he wasn't listening.
"Buckbeak, Quiet!!!" Y/n yelled and somehow Buckbeak went silent. "Come here!" Y/n called him a little away from everyone. Buckbeak listened to her and followed her.
"Its Killed me! Its killed me!!" Malfoy kept yelling.
"Calm down, Its just a scratch!" Hagrid told him.
"It wouldn't happen if you listened!!!!!" Y/n yelled from a little distance.
"Hagrid!!!" Hermione yelled running closer "He has to be taken to the hospital!"
"I'm the teacher. I'll do it" Hagrid said and picked up Draco, who was yelling. Yes, He got injury, but not that hard that he'll scream like he's about to pass away. Everyone watched Hagrid take Malfoy away.
'Come on now, can't anything go right without my interference.. I've got to do something now.' Y/n signed .Buckbeak came and nuzzled his beak against her cheek telling her to pay attention to him. She patted him.
