"Someone give me an Oscar for not smiling"
3rd person's POV
The next day, Everyone was ready to leave for Hogwarts. Surprisingly, The Ministry had arranged two cars for the Kims and Weasleys. Eric suggested that Harry, Ron and Hermione join the Kims in their car since they have lots of space and Mr. Weasley was thankful for that.
"Why is The Ministry providing us cars, Dad?" Percy asked as he help his father put the luggage in the car trunk.
"Because you became the Headboy of Hogwarts" Y/n said sarcastically putting Haru's cage in the back seat along with Hedwig's, Making almost everyone around her chuckle. Eric looked at her proudly.
"Really?" Percy asked almost believing Y/n, which made everyone laugh this time.
"Apparently Not, You see, I don't have a car and I'm a good employee, so they're helping us with little payback service." Mr. Weasley said. Percy nodded disappointedly but Ginny got a doubt and decided to ask about it.
"What about you??? Why did they provide you a car?" Ginny asked Eric.
"The Ministry just likes me alot." Eric replied grinning at Ginny, who laughed at the statement. "I'm not joking, we get a car every year" Eric continued as Harry, Ron and Jake sat on the middle seat of the car.
"Wait, I thought that was our car" Y/n said as Hermione, Eric and Herself sat in the front seat.(Its a magical car that can fit many people. so 6 people on front and middle seats can sit comfortably)
"Come on, Honey. We don't own a car....." Eric said sitting on driver's seat ".....yet" Eric completed whispering at the end. Y/n and Hermione heard him and laughed.
"Ready to go, Eric?" Mr. Weasley asked
"Can't let the kids miss their train now, can we?.." Eric asked starting the car
"What did you say?" Mr. Weasley asked not getting Eric's sarcasm.
"I'm ready as I'll ever be, Arthur" Eric replied smiling at Mr. Weasley's innocence.
"Okay!!" Mr. Weasley said and begun to drive out of Diagon Alley.
While driving through London, Ron excitedly looked out the window, watching the Muggle world.
"Why are we taking the Muggle roadways?? I thought the Wolon's Road was easier pathway to reach King's Cross Station?" Jake asked looking at Eric
"Wolon's Road?" Harry and Ron asked in Unison and Hermione scoffed.
"You've been taking that road for 2 years and you don't about it??" Hermione said in disbelief
"If I did know, why would I bother to ask?" Ron snapped back. Hermione was about to backfire with something but Y/n stepped in and stopped the possible argument
"Its the road ways mostly used by Wizards and Witches. Its easier to get to the station since that road is made using Magic and there won't be any traffic" Y/n explained
"Yes, and that road is considered not safe for few days, you know.. for some reasons" Eric replied glancing at Harry on the end. Harry and Y/n understood what he was talking about. The rest were confused.
After few minutes, Eric stopped the car somewhere and was about to get out, Y/n interrupted him.
"Where are you going??? Wouldn't we get late for the train?" Y/n asked
"There's one and half hours to spare currently, we will at King's Cross in half an hour from here. You all won't be late" Eric replied
"But where are you going?" Jake asked
"The Café... I want Coffee.. It doesn't feel like its morning without it" Eric said looking at Jake.
"You could have it at Leaky Cauldron" Harry said looking out at the Café.
"I would if they had any.. There was just tea.. I drank it but.. I'm craving for some coffee right now" Eric replied and got off and when he was about the close the door of the car. Y/n said something making him stop.
"Can you bring me one hot medium cup of Americano??" Y/n said forgetting that she's just 12.
"What did you say?" Eric asked staring at Y/n, almost glaring her.
"One hot medium cup of Americano---" Y/n stopped when she realized she wasn't supposed to let Eric know that she drinks coffee behind his back even when he forbid her from drinking it.
"Aren't you too young for that?" Eric asked sternly. Y/n looked at Hermione asking for help. Hermione just secretly smiled.
"What? But she drinks coffee at Hogwarts everyday." Ron said out loud. Eric looked at Y/n, glaring at her this time. Y/n looked at Ron with her jaw dropped.
"We'll have a talk about this separately.." Eric told Y/n and looked up at the sky. "It seems it will rain soon. I'll bring you kids a cup of hot chocolate" Eric said and closed the car door and went into the Café.
"Ron!!!" Y/n said loudly "Why did you tell him that???!!!" Y/n asked in annoyance
"I didn't know you weren't allowed to drink it" Ron replied with a grin
"Your Uncle is right.. You are young for that" Hermione said agreeing with Eric
"Well, I know he is but I like to drink it.. and Ron, I'm not gonna help you with your homework anymore" Y/n said and Ron looked at her with surprise
"What? Really?" Ron asked and Y/n nodded.
Eric came back before Ron could convince Y/n. He passed he kids 5 medium cups of Hot chocolate. Y/n heard Ron asking Harry if the drink was good in taste. Harry replied that Ron can guess that himself after drinking it.
The 6 of them reached King's Cross station with 40 minutes to spare. Y/n knew that Ron was forgetting about his rat but she didn't tell him intentionally. They entered the platform 9 3/4 without catching Muggle's eyes. When everyone was done giving their luggage to the worker, they begun to bid their families. Eric hugged both his niece and nephew.
"Will I be seeing you this Christmas or not??" Eric asked whispering to the siblings who shook their heads sadly.
"Oh, come on.. Now I would have to find one more reason to sneak into Hogwarts to meet you two" Eric said and Y/n and Jake both chuckled hugging their Uncle back.
"Jake! Come on, Mate!" Fred called out for Jake and He smiled at Eric before walking towards his friends. Y/n watched him go. She took Eric's big hands into her smaller ones.
"Even if I'm 12 ...and I know I'm 3 years younger than Jake.. But still, I promise I'll be stronger than him in every way.. and I don't want you to worry about Harry and--" Y/n stopped and looked around her before whispering "Sirius Black.. Trust me.. nothing will go wrong.. I'll try to make sure" Y/n said smiling
Eric chuckled and pecked Y/n on top of her head. He hugged her once more.
"I don't know why, I always feel anxious when I see you go somewhere on your own" Eric said letting Y/n go.
"Studies says that it is normal to feel that way while parenting" Y/n said sheepishly
"And I found the meaning of the word 'Androhydrous'.... nice way to cover the original word in public" Eric said making both of them laugh.
"I'll get going now" Y/n said and Eric nodded letting her go. She walked towards her friends who were about to enter the train. Harry went first and Y/n followed him with her bag pack on her back. The train was about to start but suddenly Ron yelled.
"Oh no!!!" Ron said dropping his bag.
"What?" Hermione asked looking behind at him
"Scabbers!!! I forgot him!!!" Ron yelled and looked out at train window calling for his Mom.
' I knew I should had given him an empty cage' Y/n thought and signed. The train begun to move, bright white steam starting forming around the train wheels as the engine started.
"Oh! for goodness' sake!!" Y/n heard Mrs. Weasley from out side "Don't lose him!!!"
Ron looked back at his friends who were staring at him. He shrugged
"What?? It happens" Ron said and four of them begun to walk trying to find a place to seat but most of the seats were full already. While walking, Harry was telling Y/n about what happened with his Aunt a day before.
"I didn't mean to blow her up. I just... I lost control" Harry completed and Y/n chuckled
"Brilliant" Ron said in impressed tone
"Honestly, Ron, its not funny. Harry was lucky not to be expelled" Hermione said to Ron
"I was lucky not to be arrested" Harry corrected Hermione
"I still think it brilliant" Ron said
"Come on, Every where else is full" Hermione called out for Harry and Y/n who were walking forward. While listening to Harry, Y/n didn't pay much attention to the seats because Hermione will tell where the right place to sit is.
"I agree with you.. It was cool" Y/n whispered to Ron as she followed Hermione inside. Ron smiled sheepishly. Y/n took seat next to stranger who was sleeping and was covering himself with a jacket. There was a glass bottle next to him.
"Who do you think that is?" Ron asked sitting next to Hermione and near window.
"Professor R. J. Lupin" Hermione told him.
"Do you know everything??" Ron asked Hermione. "How is it she knows everything?" Ron asked Y/n. Harry sat next to her.
"Its on the suitcase. Ronald" Y/n told him. Ron saw the name and mouthed 'oh'
"Do you think he's really asleep?" Harry asked peeking at the man.
"Seems to be, why?" Hermione asked
"I've gotta tell you something" Harry said closing the door of the compartment.
Harry told the three of them about Sirius Black and Mr. Weasley's warning for him. Ron was thunderstroke, Hermione had her mouth covered with one of of hand, but Y/n wasn't really reacting much. She was just thinking.
"So, Let me get this straight.. Sirius Black escaped Azkaban to come after you?" Ron asked
"Yeah" Harry replied
"That means you're not safe either!" Ron said to Y/n making her flinch in confusion
"How in the world does that concern me???? " Y/n asked curiously with a hint of sarcasm
"Well. Its no news that you-know-who has a grudge against your family and you've defeated him back to back for two years.. all of this is pretty well-known. Black definitely knows about it too and He would think about taking you down as well...you know like.. revenge and since you're Harry's friend. he could aim two spots at once" Ron explained to Y/n. She just stared at him
"I don't agree to that.. I don't think he'll do something to me" Y/n huffed and leaned back against the seat with her hands folded on her chest
"You don't know what he could do.. He escaped Azkaban---" Ron got interrupted
"But they'll catch Black, won't they?" Hermione said finally joining the conversation. "I mean, everyone's looking for him" Hermione said encouraging her friends that maybe nothing bad will happen.
"Sure.. Except, no one's ever broken out of Azkaban before and he's a murderous, raving lunatic" Ron said and Y/n scoffed
"Thanks, Ron" Harry said blankly and suddenly the train begun to stop.
'Oh crap!' Y/n thought and got alerted
"Why we stopping"? Hermione asked. "We can't be there yet"
Harry got up and looked out the compartment. Suddenly the train shook very hardly making Harry drop on his seat back. His hand landed on Y/n's. None of them realized it, so they kept their hands like it was.
"What's going on??" Ron yelled as the train begun to shake.
"I don't know, Maybe we've broken down" Harry said and the compartment light turned off making it almost dark. It was raining outside so, there wasn't much light coming from outside as well.
"Ouch, Ron. that was my foot!!" Hermione exclaimed. Ron peeked outside with his hands on the glass.
"There's something moving out there" Ron said panicking and the compartment light flickered on. The light soon turned off and the compartment slowly turned cold.
"I think someone's coming aboard." Ron said anxiously
The compartment turned in freezing cold in few seconds. The water drops that made the window wet were turning in ice and even the water kept inside turned into solid ice. All four of them were breathing heavily knowing the something's coming. The train again shook but this time lot harder than before
"Bloody Hell!! What's Happening?" Ron screamed putting both of his on the seat. Harry peeked next to Y/n, to find the professor was still asleep.
Suddenly, a figure of something dark was moving outside the compartment. Y/n's stomach dropped she begun to feel very uncomfortable. The dark figure outside motioned its hand which slowly opened the compartment door.
Harry grabbed something which was in his hand all this time. And realized that it was Y/n's hand but before he could let go the door swung open. The long dark fingers were on the handle and the dark figure stepped inside. Its face was covered with a hood but even if it was, it still looked horrifying.
It looked at each of the kids. Crookshanks hissed at it and Scabbers hid inside Ron's jacket. It looked at Y/n a little longer and turned to Harry. And it begun to suck something from him, a visible glimpse of light could show that the thing was sucking Harry's soul.
Y/n was about to pull out her wand but suddenly, another figure came inside the compartment and directly begun to suck Y/n's souls. She felt like the air inside her was being sucked out. She felt cold, very cold. She felt the coldness run through her mind, her lungs, her nerves, her heart.
But suddenly, she could hear something. Two female's voice. Y/n could make very few words since most of the words were muffled. Then out of no where, the coldness went away with a swift motion. All her eyes could make out was a bright light.
She felt light and dizzy. Her body was about to fall but pulling all her leftover strength out she held out her hand and placed it somewhere. When she felt something cushion-y, she knew she was grabbing the seat. She begun to gasp for air as her organs begun to work back.
She blinked her eyes many times until her vision was clear. While she was gasping for air, she dizzily looked at two people calling out for her. She couldn't really hear them yet but soon she listened to them
"Are you all right??!!!" Hermione's voice came and Y/n nodded lightly.
Leaving the support of the seat. Y/n sat back at her place straightly and calmed her breaths down. She felt that something held her hands very tightly. she looked down at Harry who was lying on the seat near her.
"Here... have a chocolate.. you'll feel better" A new voice said. Y/n looked at him and instantly knew who it was. She took a piece of chocolate
"Thank you" Y/n managed to whisper. The man smiled as Y/n took a bite of chocolate. As the chocolate went inside her body, she could feel normal slowly.
"Do you feel okay now?" Hermione asked with Harry's glasses in her hands. Y/n nodded her head eating the chocolate. After few minutes, Ron spoke up.
"Look!! Harry waking up!" Ron exclaimed. Hermione quickly crouched on the ground as Harry begun to twitch signaling that he's about to be conscious.
"Harry, are you alright?" Hermione asked as Harry opened his eyes. She passed Harry his glasses who muttered 'Thank you'. Harry got up and it definitely looked like he was feeling little dizzy. Harry noticed that He was still holding Y/n's which now was red from his grip. He let her hand go.
"Sorry" Harry muttered
"Its all right, Don't worry about it"Â Y/n replied smiling, eating her chocolate.
"Here, eat this, it'll help" Lupin said giving Harry a piece of chocolate. "Its all right, it chocolate"
Harry took it and started looking around trying to find the thing that knocked him out. But, happily it wasn't there.
"What was that thing that came?" Harry asked
"A Dementor" Y/n replied instantly. All 4 people looked at her not understanding how she knew. "Uncle told me" Y/n shrugged
"You're right. Its one of a guards of Azkaban. Its gone now. It was searching for Sirius Black." Lupin told the kids and gave the rest of the chocolate to Y/n.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to have a little word with the driver" Lupin said and stood up from the seat.
"Eat, you'll feel better" Lupin told Harry and walked away from the compartment. Harry took a bite from the chocolate. Y/n took another piece of chocolate.
"What happened to me?" Harry asked eating the chocolate.
"well, you sort of went rigid. We thought maybe you were having a fit or something" Ron told Harry.
"And.. did either of you three... you know... pass out?" Harry asked
"No" Ron replied "I felt weird though...Like I'd never be cheerful again"
" I was about to pass out.. But I got hold of myself at the right time.. That thing.. did something to me as well.. and when that feeling went light suddenly, it was hard to be conscious.. But, I still get to get how I stayed awake" Y/n described what she felt. Harry understood every words she said since he went through similar events.
"But someone was screaming. A women--" Harry got interrupted
"Two women.. There was two of them" Y/n said looking at Harry "You didn't hear the other one?" Harry shook his head as he heard only one voice.
"But, no one screaming. Who did you two hear?" Hermione asked. But neither Harry nor Y/n said anything.
After an hour, they were about to reach Hogwarts. Y/n and Hermione went into bathrooms, so they could wear their School Robes. Harry and Ron stayed in the compartment and changed there, closing the drapes.
After half an hour, they reached Hogsmeade Station, They heard Hagrid calling out for first years so they could go to Hogwarts in the boats as they did in their first years. But since it was raining heavily, it didn't seem like a good idea.
They watched the first years go and went into other directions where the rest of the students were going. They walked towards the exit and saw carriages waiting for them. Harry and Y/n were still feeling a little weak. Ron and Hermione were paying them a close attention. Y/n was thankful but Harry felt a little annoyed because he thought his friends are treating him like he's going to break.
Harry, Y/n, Hermione and Ron sat in one carriage, which except Y/n, everyone thought was pulling itself. The raining wasn't ending soon. The raindrops never left the window. After few more minutes, they reached Hogwarts. For a moment all four of them forgot about everything that happened and smiled looking at the visible image of castle.
The carriage stopped inside the main gate of Castle. Everyone got out. The four of them walked on the stairs, so they could go inside The Great Hall which they knew, would be warm. But their planned was ruined in just few moments. Professor McGonagall was standing right in front of the stairs which was the same staircase that lead them to Great Hall.
"Mr. Potter, Ms. Kim and Ms. Granger.. wait here, you three have to come with me.. Mr. Weasley... you can go inside" Professor McGonagall said sternly. Ron felt awkward that he was the only one who has to go but he was thankful at the same moment.
Harry, Y/n and Hermione followed McGonagall to the Hospital Wing. Y/n knew they were going to get checked up. All she wanted was a warm tea and delicious dinner but now she had to wait more, that's why she was little annoyed.
"You told McGonagall about us didn't you?" Y/n asked Hermione in whisper tone, pointed at herself and Harry. Harry walked closer to them, so he could hear them
"NO, I was with you all the time... how could I?? I wanted to, but I didn't got time for it...Someone else did....But whoever did it.. must be very observant and intelligent" Hermione whispered satisfiedly
"Must be Professor Lupin then" Harry whispered to them and the girls realised at the same time
"of course!!" The girls said in unison.
"He must've sent a letter to McGonagall informing her about you two" Hermione said not whispering this time.
"Enough with your talks.. go inside" McGonagall said strictly making all three of them quite. They entered Hospital wing. Harry and Y/n were dragged away the second they entered. Madam Pomfrey made them sit on different beds.
"You two!! Its always you two!!! What trouble did you do this time??!!" Madam Pomfrey asked in annoyance. It was no news that Harry and Y/n get into trouble more than anyone in the whole school, except Neville sometimes, Poor him.
"It wasn't them, Poppy.. They were attacked by Dementors." McGonagall said and Madam Pomfrey turned to the kids with a horror look in face. She ran to get something from the Medicine cabinet.
She came back with few things. She first checked Harry and Y/n's temperature. "They are terrible beings, They always attack people who already are delicate--"
"I'm not delicate!!" Harry snapped as Madam checked his pulse
"Of course you're not" Madam Pomfrey said absently and checked Y/n's pulses as well.
"What do they need?? Bed rest for few days?" McGonagall asked in slight worried tone.
"Nah... They're fine. But they should have chocolate. I think I have some of it in--" Madam Pomfrey was about to get it but Harry stopped her.
"We already ate it on the train" Harry said quickly wanting to get away as soon as possible.
"What?" Madam Pomfrey asked
"Yeah, Professor Lupin gave us chocolate the moment we got our posture back" Y/n told the elders in correct and polite way.
"Oh...." Madam Pomfrey said being impressed "Finally someone who's worth teaching the subject"
Hermione and Y/n looked at each other and smiled, both knew what Madam Pomfrey was talking about. There was only one subject with no teacher which was Defence Against The Dark Arts. But Harry still didn't get it
"Very well then, You can go" Madam Pomfrey said Harry got up, Y/n did too, so she could leave Professor McGonagall and Hermione alone. But McGonagall stopped her.
"Ms. Kim, stay here.. there's still business I want to discuss with you two" McGonagall told the girls
"I'll wait outside then" Harry said
"No need Mr. Potter... You may go on your way to The Great Hall." McGonagall said and Harry left not knowing why the girls had to stay, he decided he could ask them later. When Harry left, McGonagall pulled out a box from her robe's pocket and gave it to Hermione.
"I had to write so many letters to the Ministry, so you could own this.. they gave you the permission.. so take care of it and use it well" McGonagall said smiling at Hermione. She beamed when she opened the box and took the thing inside in her hands.
"Is that a T--" Y/n was about to ask
"A Time-Turner..." McGonagall told Y/n "Ms. Granger have chosen all subjects that are going to be taught this year.. And if we leave one subject.. so have you"
"That's true.. I chose all the subjects except Arithmancy.." Y/n replied nodding her head
"Since it the concept was to choose few new subjects, you two decided to do something else.. which may be a good decision for you.." McGonagall said and The girls smiled
"But... Many of your subjects will be on the small time on multiple basis... That's why, I had arranged a Time-Turner for Ms. Granger so she could attend all the lessons... As for you.. I think I might have to ask the Ministry for another Time-Turner-" McGonagall got interrupted by Y/n herself
"I don't think there's a need for that, Professor" Y/n said. McGonagall and Hermione looked at her confusedly. Y/n reached her collar and pulled out a Platinum chain which had a small pocket watch as a pendant. "I already got one"
"You-- You already have a Time-turner??!!" Hermione asked excitedly
"Yes.. Uncle gave me. Jake has one too" Y/n said
"That's explains why he is so good at studies.." Hermione said nodding her head
"Great. Eric knew what he had to do... surprisingly " McGonagall said thinking about her old student who used to make trouble every week.
"He's good parenting.. really" Y/n told McGonagall who had a proud smile.
"You two must go now.. The feast is about to begin.. Poppy and I'l be there soon" McGonagall said.
"Wait a minute!!!" Madam Pomfrey ran inside with a goblet in her hand. "Drink this before you go" She said passing the goblet to Y/n
"But.. you said I'm alright?" Y/n asked raising her eyebrow
"well, you are but you need to drink this.. It'll will help you recover sooner" Madam Pomfrey told her
"Then, why didn't you give it Harry as well?" Y/n asked again
"Well, because he doesn't really need it. You're growing up and slowly turning into a women. The Dementor attack you experienced, can cause a problem in the process. this will help in that matter" Madam Pomfrey explained but she sounded like she just made it up. Y/n didn't found it convincing, so she decided to ask more questions.
"Still doesn't explain, why Harry isn't treated the same way. You know .. he is also growing up and all--"
"JUST DRINK IT!!!!!!" Madam Pomfrey said angrily.
"Okay" Y/n quickly took the goblet from her hand and drank whatever was in there in one gulp. Tasting the chocolate-y sweetness, she gave the goblet back to Madam Pomfrey who was looking at her with a look scarier than McGonagall's angry face.
"Good, You can go now" Madam Pomfrey said. Hermione and Y/n nodded and went away. They were walking back towards Great Hall.
"Two time-turners, huh?? It must've cost your Uncle a fortune" Hermione said not too loudly
"Three actually.. he has one too, you know.. for.. his job." Y/n said and Hermione's eyebrow went up showing that she's impressed. "But, don't worry, it didn't cost him anything... He already had them. And the time-turners he gave us are the ones that belonged to our........" Y/n paused "our parents"
"Oh, then the one you have must be your Mom's" Hermione said
"Yes.. he.. said that.. it'll will a waste if no one uses it.. so he gave them to us" Y/n said and Hermione nodded.
'I still hesitate to call Irene and Suho my family???? When will I accept the fact that they are the ones who adopted me!! I need to do find a way. Uncle Eric and Jake truly loves me as I'm really part of their family. Even Debbie and Dabon love and respect me like I'm their true Heiress. I.. accept.. I'm disappointed in myself for this' Y/n thought and signed deeply
Hermione thought that it must be because, Y/n felt sad about her parents, so she decided to light up her mood.
"You're coming to Hogsmeade, right?" Hermione asked catching Y/n off-guard
"Yes, I am, why did you ask it now?" Y/n asked
"Not much reason, but which shop are you excited to go to?" Hermione asked innocently
"Me??? Probably.... Honeydukes... Thanks to Ron, I know alot of Wizarding Candy but I haven't seen any shops yet.." Y/n said
"Then, we'll go there right away" Hermione smiled and looked front
Y/n stared at her, not understanding why Hermione started acting weird but soon understood. Y/n smiled brightly and gave Hermione a side-hug.
"Thank you Hermione" Y/n said and Hermione laughed knowing her mission was successful.
"Stop it, we're here" Hermione said and Y/n broke the hug. And looked at the Great Hall to find that its door is closed.
"Huh? I thought it was always open, why did they close it? How are we going to get in?" Y/n asked confusedly. She felt little light in her head but she wasn't telling anyone
"They Sorting ceremony must be going on.." Hermione guessed
"Well, since they locked us out here, let's just go and sleep" Y/n said and was about to walk away but Hermione held her back by grabbing Y/n's robe's hood.
"That's the medicine speaking, you need to eat before you rest. and I must say that you have to eat or you're going to half-minded all night if you don't eat anything... And they didn't lock us out, you just need to push it like a normal door" Hermione said placing Y/n back to her place, who was pouting now.
Signing in disappointment, Y/n pushed the door open.... A little too hard. The door opened with a loud noise which echoed in The Great Hall. Every one, Every. Single. Person in the room was staring at Y/n and Hermione. They saw that Professor Flitwick was doing the Sorting ceremony on the first years. Hermione looked away in embarrassment.
When Y/n felt all eyes on her, all the lightness and laziness she felt drift away. she smiled awkwardly "Sorry for that... I didn't mean to.. open the door.. like this.. it just opened... by itself" Y/n said with an awkward chuckle in the end. Many students, including her bestfriends laughed. Y/n felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment.
"Let's go, Y/n." Hermione said and started walking inside with Y/n following her.
Y/n was popular among male students around her age. But this time, she earned lot more new admirers who definitely got interested in her. All of them were watching, Y/n walk towards her friends and sit next to her brother and Hermione.
A Certain Hufflepuff boy watched her from far as well. He always saw her a kid but, now, its different. he admitted growing up is scary. He watched Y/n turned red in embarrassment as her friends who were making fun of her, he didn't realize that he was smiling. Until, Professor Flitwick called out another first year's name
"Arnold Hopper!"
As they Ceremony kept going on. Y/n became the perfect target to tease.
"Honestly, Y/n. If you like to make a grand entry, you should tell us" Fred said in fake sad tone
"Really, we would be more than happy to help you" George said in same tone as Fred. Gryffindors who were around them laughed.
"Shut up, you two" Y/n said hiding her face between her palms as her elbows rested on the table.
"Looks like the medicine you drank has lost it effects" Hermione said not leaving the chance to tease Y/n.
"Not you, too. Hermione!!" Y/n said looking at her friend with mixture of embarrassment and disbelief
"So, its true that you were attacked by a Dementor?" Jake asked and looking at Y/n.
"Don't make it sound like it was my fault!!!" Y/n yelled at Jake in whisper tone. "I didn't do anything intentionally, it just... happened"Â judging by her tone, Jake understood that it wasn't how it was supposed to happen. so he decided to let it slide.
"Well, I'm just saying, I'm glad you're okay now" Jake said and Y/n smiled.
"Madam Pomfrey gave you medicine?" Harry asked and both Y/n and Hermione nodded "Why didn't she give anything to me?"
"It was for a different reason, Harry" Hermione quickly said covering for Y/n. "That's why both of us stayed back"
Harry didn't really understand Hermione, but nodded anyway. Just then, Students clapped, showing that The Sorting Ceremony ended. The Headmaster, Dumbledore stepped in front to give his first speech of the year.
"Welcome ! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now, I'd like to say a few words, before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast" Dumbledore said. Y/n and Jake chuckled at his words at the same time.
"First, I'm pleased to welcome, Professor R. J. Lupin who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher. Good Luck, Professor" Dumbledore announced. Lupin stood up from his seat as the students ans other teachers clapped for him.
"Now You understand why he gave you the chocolate, Harry?" Y/n asked clapping and Harry nodded smiling but as Dumbledore continued his speech, something interrupted them.
"Potter, potter!!!!"
All four looked behind Harry to find Draco Malfoy smirking from the Slytherin Table.
"Is it true you fainted?" Malfoy asked and other Slytherin mimicked fainting in a funny way. "I mean, you actually fainted?" Malfoy asked laughing
'Someone give me an Oscar for not smiling.... I mean its one of my favourite iconic lines' Y/n thought trying to make her face as still as she could.
"Shove off, Malfoy" Ron said with gritted teeth, making Harry face in front again.
"How did he find out?" Harry asked whispering
"Just forget it" Hermione told him.
Y/n on the other hand, was still staring at Draco who was looking back at her. He expected Y/n will at least smile at him, since they got along very well on the night of Summer Ball. But what he didn't expect was that Y/n looked away from him with a straight face, ignoring him completely. He crossed his eyebrows in confusion, not understanding the girl's behavior. Y/n remembered what Eric said and she knows that Its Harry who needs help the most. She'll find a way for Draco later. She listened to Dumbledore who was going to make a great announcement.
"Our Care of Magical Creatures teacher has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I'm delighted to announce...that his place will be taken by none other than our own... Rubeus Hagrid!!!!"
Everyone clapped. But the Gryffindor table made loudest cheers. All of them knew that Hagrid loved creatures and is a great teacher who teach them. Hermione and Y/n wooed happily as they clapped for him. Seamus even whistled for him. But, as Hagrid got up, he made the teacher's table fall. Students laughed but still clapped for him.
"Finally, on a more disquieting note..at the request of the Ministry Of Magic.. Hogwarts will, until further notice, play host to the Dementors of Azkaban..until such a time as Sirius Black is captured." Dumbledore announced
Even though Y/n knew about this, she felt shiver run through her spine. If she was attacked for first time, there might be chance she'll might be attacked again. Thinking the same thing, Jake looked at his sister worriedly.
"The Dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I've been assured, that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities.." Dumbledore said
"A word of caution. Dementors are vicious creatures. They'll not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore I must warn you each and everyone of you to give them no reason to harm you. It is not in the nature of a Dementor to be forgiving." Dumbledore said partly staring at Harry.
"But you know, happiness can be found..even in the darkest of times" Dumbledore said blowing a candle with his hand " if only one remembers to turn on the light" Dumbledore said moving his hand back at the candle, making it burn again.
Dumbledore's speech was meant to be for all the students and Y/n had heard it many times but for the first time in her life. She felt that, what Dumbledore said, actually meant for her. She felt like he was telling her all this indirectly.
The feast begun, as Dumbledore said, Everyone ate their stomach off. The more Harry and Y/n were eating, they more they felt better. After an hour, the feast ended.
Everyone walked to their dormitories which they already knew will have their luggage kept their already. Y/n and Hermione walked towards their dormitories. A sign with 'Third Years' was on the top of the door which last year showed 'Second year'.
Y/n and Hermione both smiled at each other and entered their dorm, so they could rest. Little did both of them knew, that this year is going to be hard as well.

I had so much fun writing this, but I wanted to tell you that every chapter of 'The Prisoner of Azkaban' will have a little clue about the next part 'Goblet of Fire'. If you pay attention, you'll know. And Many secrets that will be given in this sequel will be solved in further parts.
