Chapter 12 - Detention

"Four Gryffindors out of bed ???This ain't new for you"

Y/n's POV

Wendy...

She was the person I could see in the mirror with my 16th year old self. I was missing her for months. it was just my memories with her... but now that I can see her reflection in this mirror.. All the emotions are flooding back

"See... that is my Mom and Dad" Harry said happily

"Harry.. I can't see them..... I see...nothing" I said trying my best not to sound sad

"Really????what do you see then" Harry asked sadly

"Nothing..... Just me.." I whispered

"Go get Ron.... Let's see if he can see them." I said knowing really well that he won't see them..but I want to be alone now.. at least for few moments

"Yeah.. you're right.. what about you then??" Harry asked

"I'll stay here.... Don't worry.. If I get caught.. I'll say that I was sleep-walking..because There was no female in girl's dormitories.. no one saw me... You go" I said still looking at the mirror

Harry left and I was left alone. I sat down

"Happy Christmas Wendy.... I wish I could tell you about this world" I whispered and she smiled

Wendy is the only one that mattered to me. She took care of me even if she was an orphan herself. she kept me as her first priorities. Because of her.. I never felt the blank space of my parents.

I signed and looked at Wendy, She was still smiling. But then she moved away and two more people came forward.

I was shocked. I stood up and stared at them. I felt warmth and throb in my heart at same time

"Are you guys.." I said

"....My parents???" I whispered and they nodded smiling. I felt my eyes getting watery

"Why couldn't I remember you???"  I asked with broken voice

"Accident" they mouthed. and I crossed my eyes

'Accident???? I have never been in any accidents.' I thought and they started walking back.

"Wait... no.. don't go" I said placing my hand on the mirror. they just smiled and disappeared. I stood there dumbfounded

But then there was a figure coming. I could figure who it was

"Jake???" I asked and then a family came

The Kims.

I could see all four of them.. with me in the middle. They were all hugging me.This time.. I was 10 I heard a tap on the window, so I looked back. but there was nothing so I looked back at the mirror and saw nothing.

'they disappeared too?' I thought and then I saw myself in the air?

I was riding something. it wasn't clear.. It was a shadow of something. I couldn't see properly what it was.

But then the door opened. I quickly wiped my tears and looked at Harry and Ron.

"Come on, come!, come look its my parents!" They Ran to me and I moved away from the mirror

"I only see us" Ron said

"Look in properly. go on stand there" Harry placed him

"There, You see them, don'you?" Harry smiled

"That's me!" Ron said excitedly

"Only I'm head boy. And I'm holding a Quidditch cup" Ron smiled and Harry looked at me, I shrugged

"And Bloody Hell! I'm Quidditch captain too! I look good" Ron smiled dreamily

"Hey guys,do you think this mirror shows the future?" Ron asked us. I shook my head

"How can it? Both of my parents are dead" Harry said sadly

"You said you know what kind of mirror is this earlier.. What is it?" Harry asked me

"I don't think I can explain it correctly neither I think I'm right person to tell you" I said

"I'll go drop Ron with your cloak.. you stay here and do..whatever you like" I said nodding my head towards the mirror.

Ron and I were now going back to dormitories.

"You don't know what mirror is that, do you?" Ron whispered

"Of course I do.. that mirror shows what we desire to have. what you saw was not future.. its what you desire" I whispered explaining him

"oh.. what did you see?????" Ron whispered back a little sadly

"...My family" I said thinking about them. I looked at Ron, he was looking sad

"You know Ron, You can have what you desire, but you need to do a hard work for it." I whispered and he looked at me

"I know you--- no-- I believe that you can do that" I whispered and he smiled

"Thank you..." He whispered and then we reached the Common Room.

"You go on... I'll go get Harry.. He would need this cloak" I said and Ron nodded.

After few minutes I reached Harry but didn't disturb just sat in a little distance, with my back against the cold wall.

Minutes passed, None of us said anything. we were comfortable with silence but then I saw a shadow.

I looked up and saw Professor Dumbledor. I stood up

"Back again? Harry and Y/n?" he asked and Harry got up as well and stood next to me

"I see that you two, like so many before you have discovered the delights of The Mirror of Erised." He said and started walking to us

"I trust by now you realize what it does" He said approaching us and I nodded my head but Harry looked clueless

"Let me give you a clue" He said looking at Harry.

"The Happiest man on earth would look into the mirror and see himself exactly as he is" He explained to us

"So then, it shows us what we want. whatever we want" Harry asked

"Yes.. and No" Dumbledor replied

"It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest and the most desperate desires of our hearts" I said explaining Harry and Dumbledor nodded his head approving

"Now you, Harry, who have never known your family.. you see them standing beside you... same goes for you Y/n" he said looking at me. I widen my eyes

'How does he know about that?' I thought

"But.. remember this both of you. this mirror gives us neither knowledge or truth.. Men have wasted away in front of it. Even gone mad" He warned us and Harry gulped

"That is why tomorrow it will be moved to a new home.. And I must ask you, Harry..not to go looking for it again..It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live" He explained and after that we were walking back to dormitories.

"You said you didn't see anything.. But you were crying when Ron and I arrived..." Harry whispered

"I wasn't crying" I whispered back

"I saw you wiping your face.. and your eyes looked a little red.. you did cry.. why?" he asked

"As Professor Dumbledor said... I could.. see my parents.. I have never seen them... this close to me..." I whispered

"That's means..we have a lot in common than we thought" Harry whispered smiling

"I feel honored you think that" I smiled back and we reached the dormitories.

Next day..Harry and I took Hedwig and Haru outside to fly a little. when they were flying, Harry was watching them. I secretly bent and took handful of snow and threw it on Harry

"Y/N!!!!" He gasped and threw snow to me.

"You wanna play??" I threw a small snowball at him

"Um.. Yes" He threw a big ball at me and I gasped

"Wrong choice, Potter... You asked for this war" I said throwing a bigger amount of snow at him.

And that's how we spent the next hours. Ron and Jake joined us and we played Ron and Harry VS Jake and I

After few minutes listening to the laughs Fred and George joined us. and instead of joining either of our teams. they made their own team and little game Harry and I started was now a real war. Listening to all cheers and laughs. our Prefect Percy came

"Stop you all!!!" He yelled at us and we all stopped at once

"You are ruining the Hogwarts grounds.. this is not except-able" He went on and on. We all looked at eachother thinking the same thing. we all smirked and nodded

"1..." Jake counted and we took handful snow

"2" Fred said and we made ball out of it

"3!!!" George said we were ready to throw

"ATTACK!!!" I yelled and we all threw the balls at Percy. we laughed and ran away from him letting him yell after us

We reached Gryffindor Common Room laughing. and I looked at each of us. I smiled

'This Christmas isn't bad either' I thought smiling

Time skip

"I had you both looking at the wrong section...How could I be so stupid?" Hermione said plopping the huge book on our table and sitting next to me, we were doing our homework in the library

"I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading" Hermione said opening the book

"this is light?" Ron asked and Hermione glared at him while I snickered.

"Of course! Here it is!" Hermione said when she found his name

"Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of Philosopher's Stone" She read

"The what?" Harry and Ron asked in unison

"Honestly, don't you two read?" Hermione asked disbelief

"They don't" I shook my head and pulled the book in the middle of table for all of us to read

"The Philosopher's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It'll transform any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life which will make the drinker immortal" Hermione continued to read

"Immortal?" Ron said disbelief

"It means you never die" Hermione explained to him

"I know what it means" Ron said angrily. Harry shushed him while I giggled.

"The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel, the noted alchemist who last year celebrated his 665th birthday" Hermione read and Harry & Ron looked at eachother in shock

"That's what fluffy guarding on the 3rd floor" I said

"That's what under the trapdoor" Hermione said

"The Philosopher's Stone" she and I said in unison and in the end she smiled at me, thinking I got it at same time as her

time skip

After Dinner, all four of us were going to Hagrid's hut.  I told Harry to bring the Invisibility Cloak but I know he forgot to bring it.

We reached the hut and Harry knocked. After a while Hagrid opened the door with oven mitts on.

'Oh yeah.. he's trying to hatch the dragon egg' I thought

"Hagrid--" Harry begun but Hagrid interrupted him.

"Hello, Don't wish to be rude but I'm in not fit state to entertain today" He said closing the door

"We know about the Philosopher's stone" We all said in unison and Hagrid opened the door in shock and we all walked in taking off our robes.

"we think that Snape's trying to steal it" Harry begun

"I don't" I said taking seat beside Hermione on the big couch

"Snape? Are you still on about him?" Hagrid asked

"Hagrid, except Y/n, we know that he's after it. we just don't know why" Harry said

"Snape is one the teachers protecting the stone. He won't steal it" Hagrid said

"What?" Harry asked disbelief

"That is what I'm trying to say.. it could be someone else" I said

"yes you heard, come on now, I'm a bit preoccupied toady" Hagrid told us

"wait a minute... one of the teachers?" Harry asked

"Of course.. there are other things protecting the stone, aren't there?" Hermione asked beside me

"Spells, enchantments" I said to her

"that's right..waste of bloody time, if you ask me. ain't no one gonna get past fluffy" Hagrid chuckled proudly but I was distracted and was looking at Ron who was trying to get away from Fang.

"Ain't no soul knows how, except for me and Dumbledor" I heard Hagrid say

"I shouldn't have told you that, I should not have told you that" Hagrid muttered and we heard a noise coming from fire place. it got all of our attention. Hagrid went and took a burnt egg out.  we all followed him to the table

"Is it an ancient magical way to cook the egg?" Hermione whispered to me when we walking

"No!" I choked on my laugh and we all sat down near the table. I somehow ended up next to Harry

"Hagrid. what exactly is that?" Harry asked him

"that? its uh--" Hagrid tried to explain

"I know what that is!" Ron said happily

"I know too" I smiled

"But, Hagrid, How did you get one?" Ron asked him

"I won it. Off a stranger I met down at the pub. Seemed quite glad to be rid of it, as a matter of fact" Hagrid told us

the egg started shaking like it was hatching, we all backed away a little. and then it broke making the pieces fly off the room

And then a small baby dragon came out of it. To me it looked cute for the reason I didn't know

"Awwww" I said a patted his head little which he replied with a purring sound

"Is that....a dragon?" Hermione

"that is not just a dragon. That's a Norwegian Ridgeback....My brother Charlie works with these in Romania" Ron explained to us

"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid gasped

"Yes he is" I said smiling and Harry gave me strange look which I replied with a shrug

"oh bless him, look he knows he mummy" Hagrid smiled and started petting him

"Hello Norbert" Hagrid smiled

"Norbert??" Harry asked

"He's gotta have a name, don't he?" Hagrid said like it was something obvious . Ron and I chuckled

"Don't you Norbert?" Hagrid asked him but Norbert sneezed fire and burnt Hagrid beard

"He'll have to be trained up a bit of course" Hagrid said tapping his beard

"Who's that?" Hagrid asked looking at mirror and when we looked we got a glimpse of platinum blond boy running away.

"Malfoy" Harry said

"oh. dear" Hagrid said

After that, we quickly left Hagrid's hut and we on our way to dormitories.

"Hagrid always wanted a dragon, Told me so the first time I met him" Harry said to us

"That's crazy And worse, Malfoy knows" Ron said while I looked in front while Ron looked as well

"I don't understand..is that bad?" Hermione asked

"Its bad" Ron and I said in unison and Harry and Hermione followed our gaze

"Good evening" Professor McGonagall said making at stunned. we looked behind her and saw Malfoy smirking

"Follow me" she said strictly and we followed her with no words

"Nothing, I repeat Nothing..gives a student the right to walk about that night" She told us

'Four Gryffindors out of bed?? This ain't new for you professor' I thought and I wanted to smirk but I didn't

"Therefore, as punishments for your actions, 50 points taken." she told

"50?" Harry asked and we all gasped.

"Each" She continued

'wait.. each?? that means 200??? Oh damn 50 more points are lost' I thought feeling extremely guilty

"And to ensure, it doesn't happen again..." She said and I quickly looked at Malfoy

"All five of  you will receive detention" She said and I saw his expression changing he stepped forward

" Excuse me professor, perhaps I heard you wrong....I thought you said the five of us" He said to Professor, I snickered lightly

"No, you heard me correctly. Mr. Malfoy" She slightly smirked

"As honorable as your intentions were..you too were out of bed, after hours. You will join your classmates in detention" She said strictly. Malfoy glared at us while we smirked at him.

'You had to get that Malfoy... you need to know that not everything goes the way you want it to be.. the sooner the better' I thought and smiled at Hermione

Time skip next day

3rd person's POV

After Dinner, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Y/n joined Draco and Flich outside the great hall. Flich was telling them how the ancients-according to him- used to do the detentions. He went on and on until they reached the gate

"A pity they let the old punishments die......It was a time detention found you hanging by your thumbs in Dungeon" He told them and Harry looked at Y/n beside him who gave him a uncomfortable look.

"God I miss the screaming" Flich said

"You miss--???? How old are you??? Older than Professor Dumbledor???" Y/n snickered but stopped instantly when she saw him glaring at her. She turned her head to face her friends

"He's not really friendly, is he?.. the project to find if he is good or not... over" Y/n whispered making her friends smiled. She didn't know that one more person smiled listening to her, but he covered it when they were about to reach Hagrid's hut.

"You will be serving detention with Hagrid tonight" Flich said and the trio signed in relief.

"He's got a little job to do inside the Dark Forest" He told them

"A sorry lot, this, Hagrid"  Flich said to him and Hagrid sniffled

"Oh Good God, you're still on about that bloody Dragon, are you?"  Flich asked in Disguise

"Norbert's gone.....Dumbledor sent him off to Romania to live in a colony" Hagrid said sadly

"Well, that's good, isn't it?? He'll be with his own kind" Hermione said trying to comfort him

"But if he don't like Romania???" Hagrid asked

"What if the other dragons are mean to him? He's only a baby, after all" Hagrid said

"Hagrid.. they are dragons..not humans... they will not be mean to their own kind.. he is going to be a great dragon in few months" Y/n said smiling at Hagrid. Ron and Hermione smiled as well. Harry and Draco looked at Y/n then each other. they scoffed looking away at same time.

"oh for god's sake....pull yourself together Man!. You're going into the forest for crying out loud...Got to have wits about you" Flich said rudely

"The Forest???" Draco finally said something for the first time this night

"I thought that was a joke..We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed. and there are---" He said and they a wolf's howling "werewolves" he said and Flich glared at him

"There's more than werewolves in those trees now....You can be sure for that" Flich told them

"You don't want us to comeback safe and secure, do you?" Y/n asked him

"You'll see about that... Nighty-Night" Flich sneered

"That man hates me" Y/n whispered

"He hates everyone" Hermione replied her

"Right, let's go" Hagrid said and then they were on there way into the forest walking behind Hagrid

"Hagrid..why won't you give us weapons too????" Y/n pouted

"You aren't allowed" Hagrid replied

"You won't need any weapons" Ron told her

"Can you stay quite Kim???? Creatures might hear you and come here" Malfoy spat to her

"Let them come.. Hagrid's friends with them, right Hagrid?" Y/n asked him but Hagrid didn't reply and stopped near a tree

'oh yeah.. This scene' Y/n thought

Hagrid bent and touched some slimy shining water

"Hagrid, What is that" Harry asked

"What we're here for" Hagrid replied

"That's Unicorn's Blood" Y/n said beside Malfoy

"That's right, I found one dead a few weeks ago....Now,this one's been hurt bad by something" Hagrid told them and Harry tapped Y/n hand and nodded to look a something. they saw someone walking far away

"So, its our job to go find the poor beast. Ron, Hermione you come with me" Hagrid

"okay" Ron managed to say

"Harry and Malfoy. You'll go with Y/n" Hagrid and both of them looked disappointed but nodded

"okay. Then I get Fang" Draco said demanding

"Fine.just so you know, he's bloody coward" Hagrid said and Harry, Malfoy both looked at Fang scared. while Y/n chuckled

After that, they parted away

"Wait till my father hears about this. This is servant's stuff" Draco said angrily

"Malfoy, they don't have servants at Hogwarts...For me, this is good way of giving detention. so that no will break rules again" Y/n said walking between them

"And If I didn't know better, Draco. I'd say you were scared" Harry said

"I'm not scared, Potter" Draco spat and they heard a noise behind them

"Did any of you hear that?" He asked them

"I thought you said you weren't scared" Y/n giggled and Draco walked away from them

"Scared!" Draco said annoyed

"Come on Fang" Harry called him

"Why are you talking so freely??? Are you not afraid?" Harry asked Y/n walking next to her

"No.. I know you two are..so I'm just trying to lighten up your mood" Y/n smiled and Harry shook his head smiling.

'Scared???' Y/n thought

'Of course I'm scared... I'm going to meet the damn main villain of this movie!!' Y/n thought while acting brave

Three of them were walking behind Fang. This time Y/n was looking nervous too.

Y/n was walking between Malfoy and Harry. Fang growled and at same time Draco nudged Y/n  lightly making her see what he was seeing.

"What it is, Fang?" Harry asked and Y/n pulled his sleeves. he followed her stare and saw A hooded person was sucking a poor unicorn.

Harry felt his scar burn, He grunted and that man heard him.

"AHHHHH" Draco yelled and ran away leaving them.

Harry and Y/n's blood ran cold, they couldn't move a inch. Y/n was breathing loudly.

The hooded person started crawling towards them. Y/n grabbed Harry's arms and dragged him to step back. The man stood straight and was approaching them. they kept walking back until Harry tripped and fell taking Y/n . He made Y/n crawl behind him. He protectively guarded her. The man was about to reach them

But they saw someone jump over them and he made the man run away.
