Evening
"Guys, let's take a proper group photo!" Aditi suggested.
"Group photo nahi Adi, yeh toh family photo hai," Megha (her mother) said, giggling.
"Haan Megha ji! Bohot hi sahi baat kahi aapne," Sneha (Iraa's mom) agreed wholeheartedly.
"Okay, how about we all wear something coordinated, like matching colors?" Kriti suggested.
"Oh, that's a good idea! Let's all wear something pastel-colored," Iraa chimed in.
"Abe yaar, abhi toh packing ki thi," Dev groaned.
"Don't be a baby, Dev," Kriti mocked him.
Few minutes later
The Singhania parents came down wearing yellow pastel colored outfits, while the Suryavanshi parents were in green and orange.
"Waah bhai aap sabne toh couple matching outfit jaise kar liya, i feel so single" Sidharth cried dramatically.
"Koi na beta your days would come to" Ram patted his back.
"Inke toh din kabse aagye hai" Dev muttered smirking at Sidharth, who gave him a glare. "Kya kaha?" Ram asked.
"Kuch nahi, Papa. Chalo, photo lete hain!" Dev quickly deflected, running away from Sidharth's accusing gaze.
The evening was cool, just tolerable enough to stay in casual clothes. Kriti and Aditi joined the group downstairs, wearing mixed pastel colors, informing everyone that Iraa would be down in a moment.
A while later
Iraa finally came down the stairs, wearing a pastel blue dress she had packed specifically for photoshoots, though she hadn't gotten the chance to wear it before.
Her Outfit:
As she walked down, she caught her dad's eye, who was looking at her with pure adoration. She smiled warmly back at him.
Her eyes shifted to Karan, standing to her dad's left, who gave her a proud look that said, You look beautiful, bacche.
But it was when she glanced to her dad's right that her breath hitched-Vedang was staring at her.
His brown eyes staring into her. His gaze was intense, filled with something that made her stomach flip.
The adoration in his eyes matched her father's and brother's but with a deeper, more personal connection.
Iraa giggled mentally at the thought that the three most important men in her life were all looking at her with such affection.
"Oh, look!" Neeta, glancing between Iraa and Vedang. "You two are matching!"
Iraa blinked, startled, and looked at Vedang again, only to realize they were, in fact, both in sky blue.
His outfit:
Her cheeks warmed with embarrassment.
Vedang, clearly caught off guard as well (sure sirðð), scratched the back of his neck. "Uh, I only had this color."
"Acha, acha, theek hai. Chalo jaldi neeche, warna sunset miss ho gaya toh Aditi hum sab ko maar dalegi," Iraa's dad said, urging everyone along.
"Uncle, c'mon! I'm not that bad!" Aditi pouted playfully.
"Mafi, madam sahiba, mafi!" Iraa's dad laughed, heading outside with the others following behind.
Meanwhile, Dev sidled up to Vedang, smirking. "So, you only had this color, huh?"
Vedang rolled his eyes and discreetly shoved a few â¹500 notes into Dev's hand. "If you say anything, you'll have to return triple this."
Dev gave an exaggerated nod, chuckling mischievously like an evil sidekick.
A few moments before
"Ugh, what should I wear?!" Iraa muttered, rifling through her suitcase, frustrated that she had just packed everything away.
"Oh, oh, this!" she exclaimed, pulling out the pastel blue dress she had in mind, completely unaware that someone had been watching her from the doorway.
Startled, she looked up. "FUCK! VEDANG, YOU SCARED ME!" she shouted, clutching her chest.
Vedang, leaning casually against the doorframe, grinned apologetically. "Sorry, sorry." He chuckled.
"Aap yahan kya kar rahe ho?" Iraa asked, narrowing her eyes at him suspiciously.
"Uh, kuch nahi bas aapko dekhne aaya tha," he replied quickly.
"Pakka?" Iraa asked suspiciously. "Yes ma'am" he said coming closer. But she raised her hands stopping him.
"We already got caught ek baar aaj! Even though some of them have a idea I don't want to accept it this early! So, sir please keep distance for some time" She asked, giving him her puppy eyes.
"Oh god! don't give me that look" Vedang said dramatically touching his heart as if it's hurting.
"Fine fine!! I won't do anything, I Uh actually came to find Adi" he said, a little weirdly.
"She's downstairs," Iraa informed him, her eyes still narrowed. He nodded and left with a smile.
In Vedang's room
"Oh my god, yaha kya earthquake aaya tha??!!" Dev shouted, staring at the chaotic mess that was Vedang's room. Clothes were strewn everywhere, his suitcase emptied out.
"What are you doing bhai?? Since when are YOU THIS messy??! AAPKO BUKHAR AAYA HAI KYA?!" Dev bombarded him with questions.
Vedang ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. "Chup reh aur ja yahan se," he muttered irritably.
Dev rolled his eyes, but as he turned to leave, Vedang grabbed him by the collar.
"OKAY, SERIOUSLY, YOU HAVE TO STOP PULLING ME LIKE THAT!" Dev yelled, trying to yank free.
"Sorry," Vedang let him go, patting down Dev's shirt. "Give me your blue shirt."
"Blue shirt? Kyun?" Dev asked, confused.
"Haan, blue wala."
"But aapko fit nahi aayega. You're bigger than me. Sleeves loose rahengi, but buttons toh band bhi nahi honge," Dev reasoned.
"Tu de na. Actually, tu mat de. I'm taking it," Vedang said with a fake smile, shoving him out of the room.
Since the shirt didn't fit as intended, Vedang layered it.
Back to the present
Everyone stood side by side and clicked photos. Iraa took photos with her mom and dad and Karan.
""Tum bacche bhi photo lo. Chalo, chalo!" Megha urged, pushing the younger crowd together for their turn. The girls took their solo shots and trio photos.
"Iraa, why don't you and bhai take a photo too?" Aditi suggested casually.
"W-what?" Iraa stammered, startled by the sudden suggestion.
"Aree, you both are matching na?" Aditi said, pushing them toward each other.
Dev's eyes gleamed with mischief. "They look pretty good together, don't they?"
Iraa's heart raced as Vedang shot Dev a warning glare. "They definitely do," Sidharth chimed in, grinning.
"Stop making it awkward, you dumbos!" Kriti smacked both of them on the back of their heads, making them wince.
Vedang placed his hand lightly on the small of Iraa's back as they posed for the photo. She could feel his warmth, which only added to the nervous fluttering in her chest.
They smiled for the camera, and just as quickly as the photo was taken, the moment passed, everyone getting busy with looking at the pictures.
Vedang nudged Iraa subtly, winking at her as he brushed his hand against hers before walking off to join Sidharth, who had called him over.
Iraa bit her lip, trying to hide her smile. The secret moments between them were fleeting, but they felt like little treasures she carried with her-moments where it was just them, even in the middle of a crowd.
