Chapter 115: Separate 115 men and women Chapter 115: Separate 115 men and women Fu Han arrived at the crew site almost at four oâclock. She and Su Cheng both lacked experience in this area, and she didnât want to seek out He Xing, so she had no choice but to call Liang Tao.
After clarifying her location, the other party immediately said they would come to find her soon and asked her to wait.
About ten minutes later, Liang Taoâs figure appeared in the distance. Fu Han was about to wave and greet him when, to her surprise, she spotted He Xing not far behind him.
This was their first encounter since their unpleasant departure on Christmas Eve, and for some reason, the anger in her heart disappeared, replaced by unease.
He Xingâs gaze was too intense; she felt as if she were standing naked before him, which was not much different from the embarrassment she experienced that day.
Liang Tao, as enthusiastic as ever: âLady Fu, Mr. Su, hello, you two have finally arrived.â
Fu Han responded, suddenly forgetting what she wanted to say.
Since He Xing appeared, Su Chengâs mood seemed to have soured. He cleared his throat and began, âLiang Tao, where are Fu Han and I staying? Could you arrange for someone to take us there?â
âOf course,â replied Liang Tao, clearing his throat as he attempted to maintain a serious tone, âMr. Su, although you and Lady Fu are⦠well, a couple, youâre not married after all, and it wouldnât look good for you to stay together. Weâve arranged separate accommodations for you, is that alright?â
Fu Hanâs face flushed with embarrassment. She really hadnât planned on staying with Su Cheng, and now Liang Taoâs comment made her feel like she couldnât clear her name even if she jumped into the Yellow River.
Su Chengâs face turned a deeper shade of red as he waved his hands vigorously: âDonât say thatâwe intended to stay separately. Thank you for your trouble.â
Fu Han followed behind the two of them, and after a few steps, Liang Tao looked back at her with confusion: âLady Fu, youâre not staying on this side. Youâre staying over there with President He guiding you.â
âWeâre staying that far apart?â Su Cheng frowned as though he were trying to crush a mosquito with his brows.
Liang Tao cleared his throat, earnestly saying, âMr. Su, our policy is to separate men and women as much as possible to avoid unnecessary trouble. Please try to understand.â
Su Cheng still seemed unsettled. Fu Han knew this arrangement was likely He Xingâs doing, but she couldnât very well say that in front of Su Cheng, so she sought to reassure him: âItâs fine, we work together every day anyway.â
Her last sentence was deliberately aimed at annoying He Xing; sure enough, his expression changed instantly.
Meanwhile, Su Cheng chuckled and cheerily followed Liang Tao.
âThis way,â He Xing said curtly, his tone almost imperceptibly hostile; after speaking, he turned and walked away without giving Fu Han another glance.
The cement path on the set was rough, full of potholes. Fu Han, dragging two suitcases, found her progress increasingly difficult.
But asking He Xing for help was out of the question. Gritting her teeth, she carried a suitcase in one hand, wobbling behind He Xing.
âLet me take it.â A clear voice came from behind her. Turning around, she saw Luo Qinghe wearing a suit under a thick down jacket, which seemed somewhat comical.
âThank you,â Fu Han smiled, not hesitating a second to place both suitcases on the ground.
There was no point in pretending to be strong when it was unnecessary. On this aspect, Fu Han was profoundly adept.
Just as Luo Qingheâs hands reached the suitcases, He Xing appeared suddenly before them and slapped Luo Qingheâs hand away: âWho asked you to meddle?â
âI call this cherishing the fragrance and cherishing the jade,â retorted Luo Qinghe while dramatically rubbing his hand: âYou can have your loversâ quarrel, but you canât expect Fu Han to carry such heavy things, can you?â
âThis is our business; it has nothing to do with you,â He Xingâs expression turned glacial as he effortlessly picked up both of Fu Hanâs suitcases and strode ahead; he didnât forget to glance back at her disdainfully: âHurry up, I wonât wait for you.â
Fu Han could only shrug helplessly, wondering when He Xing had become so childish.
Luo Qinghe leaned in close to Fu Han with a radiant smile and teased: âIf you donât hurry, I suspect this young master He would drive to City A to drag you here.â
Fu Han sighed in resignation: âYou really have quite the imagination. Do you even know why we arrived so late today?â
âWhat else could it be for?â Luo Qinghe smirked suggestively: âYesterday was Christmas. Su Cheng disappeared all night, his parents said he went to find you. Itâs normal for you to indulge in a short spring night and sleep in till broad daylight.â
Fu Han initially did not plan to truly discuss Nan Qingâs situation, intending only to tease him. However, the smile on Luo Qingheâs face was too irritatingâespecially the sort that made her desperately want to land a punch.
She put on an exasperated expression and said, âI thought you were really fond of Nan Qing. She got kidnapped today, yet here you are, still in the mood for filming.â
âKidnapped?â Luo Qingheâs volume rocketed up several notches, his smile vanishing as if stricken: âHow is she now, is she alright? I canât stay here, I have to go check on her.â
Luo Qinghe turned to head for the parking lot, but Fu Han, realizing the joke had gone too far, hurried to stop him: âCalm down, weâve already rescued Nan Qing. Sheâs in the hospital now, her parents are with her.â
âYou rescued her?â He Xing appeared behind Fu Han out of nowhere, scrutinizing her: âHow could you get involved in something so dangerous? Are you hurt?â
Fu Han stared at He Xing, baffled; his mind seemed to work differently from others. Wouldnât a normal person be concerned for Nan Qing, the one who was kidnapped?
Helplessly, she shrugged: âCould I be standing in front of you if I were in trouble?â
He Xingâs expression stiffened, and for a moment he was at a loss for words.
By that time, Luo Qinghe had recovered his composure and couldnât resist mocking He Xing: âHe Xing, oh He Xing, I never thought Iâd see you in such a state. This is too funny.â
A cold hum was He Xingâs only response as he took the suitcases and walked ahead, not sparing another glance for Fu Han.
He moved away quickly; his retreating figure clearly displayed three words: âAngry indeed!â
Luo Qinghe nudged Fu Han with his elbow: âHeâs upset now, and you donât even know how to coax him? You really lack tact, donât you?â
âWhy does it matter to me if heâs angryâ¦â Fu Hanâs face began to heat up again, her eyes flickering away, refusing to meet Luo Qingheâs gaze.
As Luo Qinghe began to walk forward, he mused aloud, âIâve truly witnessed what it means to be a stubborn duck today.â
Stamping her foot in frustration, Fu Han had no recourse against Luo Qingheâs sharp tongue.
