He narrowed his eyes as he kept his snake-like gaze that slithered around Mr. Zellnerâs neck. With just one squeeze, he could easily kill his prey at any time.
âAre you threatening me?!â Mr. Zellnerâs face turned dark with rage.
Charles, on the other hand, did not even flinch. âIâm just telling you the truth.â
Mr. Zellner stood up when he heard this and a menacing look flashed across his eyes. The one thing he could never accept was being threatened by others!
Seeing how aggravated he was, one of his subordinates took out a walkie-talkie and said, âGet ready.â
As soon as he gave the order, a red dot appeared on Charlesâ temple and began moving around his temple.
It was as if they were trying to provoke him, as well as to warn him, the red dot hovered over his eyes for a mere second.
-
At the White Family Manor.
Sterling put the call on speaker mode when he answered the phone so everyone around him heard everything loud and clear.
âWhat?â Sophia stood up and tried to suppress the panic in her chest. âThey found the car but Charles wasnât the one in it? Who was it then? Is it one of Mr. Zellnerâs men? Did you ask where is Charles now?â
She stood up and snatched Sterlingâs phone away.
Sterling winced when he noticed the wound in her neck that had torn open. How many more wounds did she have all over her body?
âDonât panic now, one question at a time. How is she supposed to answer all your questions? Have a seat first, look at you, your wounds are opened up again!â
Sterling walked over to Sophia to help her back to her seat, and when she did not budge, he wanted to push her down on the seat but worried that he would hurt her, he decided not to do anything in the end.
The person on the other end of the phone was probably too shocked by her voice, and he went silent for a very long time.
Sophia turned to Sterling with a helpful look in her eyes. âSterâââ
As soon as the words came out of her mouth, a scream came from the other end of the phone. âWhat the f*ck, y-y-y-your sisterââ? Isnât she already dead? Is it a ghost? Ahhhhhh, itâs a f*cking ghost!!!!!â
âCan you shut up!â Why did he have such uncooperative friends? âWho was the one in the car? Did you ask the person where is Charles?â
â... Of course, I did, Iâm not stupid.â The person dared not spout any nonsense now, seeing that Sterling was aggravated. âEveryone always talks about how much of a genius Charles is. Genius my *ss, heâs an idiot!â
âHe exchanged his limited-edition convertible for someoneâs motorcycle just because they were caught in a traffic jam! A limited-edition convertible, for goodness sake! Heâs an idiot!â
Sterling could not hold back the annoyance in his chest. âHow is this important?â
The key was that the car had been equipped with a tracker so he would at least be able to keep track of Charlesâ whereabouts, but he had not expected Charles to switch vehicles with someone else!
Oh, words could not describe how furious he was right now!
The man on the call was stunned. âWas this not the point?â
Sterling could not be bothered to argue with him anymore. âAnyway, Iâll treat you to a meal soon! Remember, donât tell anyone about this, or weâre not friends anymore!â
With that, he hung up.
He turned around, and when he saw how distraught Sophia looked, he quickly comforted her. âSoph, donât panic first. Since he was the one who offered to switch cars, he should be alright. Think about it, if he drives such a big car over and Mr. Zellnerâs men find out that he has a tracking device on him, he might not be able to talk himself out of it.â
Charles, you stupid fool!
If Mr. Zellner did not change the location, he would know where they were meeting, but how was he supposed to find out where they were if Mr.
Zellner switched location at the very last minute?
Sophia swallowed a nervous gulp. She wanted to ask if there were any possible ways to find Charles, but after opening her mouth several times, she could not bring herself to speak.
Hopefully, he did not care about her that much and remained stuck in the jam for a little while longer, then Sterlingâs men would be able to find him and all would be fine!
At this point, she no longer knew whether she was happy or sad about how much he cared for her...
Nicole was much calmer than him. âIâm quite sure he didnât switch venues last minute. According to Soph, Mr. Harris already turned off his phone on the way over. I think that might have been Mr. Zellnerâs request.â
Sterling replied, âThat doesnât mean anything though, it might just be that Mr. Zellner asked Charles to switch off his phone after sending Charles a new address. Besides, that man is the head of homeland security, he must be extremely cautious in doing things!â
âBut...â
Sterling thought about it. Sure enough, Charles turned off his phone when he reached the intersection, which gave them a valid reason to assume that Mr. Zellner had not changed the meeting venue.
âAlright then! Iâll bring a few people over right now,â he said as he snapped his fingers.
He turned around to Sophia and said, âSoph, donât be sad anymore, Iâll bring him back for you this instant!â
With that, he turned to leave.
âWait a minute,â Sophia called out to him in a hoarse voice.
âAh? What is it?â Sterling was confused.
They had to act quickly if they were to save Charles. Otherwise, what would they do if Mr. Zellner had a trick hidden up his sleeve?
Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
ï¤Chapter 476 I Want To Make A Deal âItâs quite likely that Mr. Zellnerâs men are armed, and moreover, they might be even more skilled than yours.â Although Sophia was panicking deep inside, she felt oddly calm at the same time as well. âYou might become Mr. Zellnerâs new hostage if you rush over like this.â
This was something harsh to imagine, but it was just the truth.
Sterling was stunned for a moment and scratched his head impatiently. âWhat should I do then? Should I... Should I ask Master Russell for help? I have heard things about how their family had a hand in both legal and illegal affairs.â
âThis is a huge matter, itâs unlikely for the Russell family to step out and do something,â Nicole ruthlessly burst his bubble and quickly suggested, âI think you can try reaching out to the Cox family.â
The Cox family had an influential position in the army and they had always liked this grandson (nephew) of theirs.
âSheâs right. Ster, give Aunt Harris a call and tell her about the situation. Nicole, listen carefully and do anything you need to,â Sophia said.
Then, before the two could even respond, she hesitated for a second and said, âNever mind, let me do it.â

The sniper had his rifle aimed at Charlesâ head, but the look on Charlesâ face did not even change as he looked up at Mr. Zellner. âIf I die, Iâll make sure to bring you down with me.â
âHow are you planning to do that if you donât have the evidence?â With a ferocious look on his face, Mr. Zellner grabbed the document folder and set it on fire with a lighter without even bothering to check.
The grin on his face widened as the fire burned bright before his eyes. âTell me now, how can you possibly bring me down?â
He handed the flash drive to his subordinate and said, âFlush it down the toilet.â
