Chapter 466 of 493

Chapter 469

“I don’t agree,” Sophia said with a frown.

Once that person found out she was still alive, she would become Charles’ Achilles’ heel.

Moreover, she had already reached out to Charles twice now to tell him about the money laundering incident. The person must have noticed by now.

If she revealed herself and asked Charles to look into the money laundering matter, the person might get desperate and kill both her and Charles!

Master Harris replied angrily, “You must obey me even if you don’t agree with me!”

Now that Jones Group was slowly recovering, that person would make a move on Harris Corporation anytime now. Master Harris could not be bothered anymore and ordered his bodyguards to bring Sophia to see Charles right away.

Sophia resisted the pain and struggled with all her might. “Don’t you dare try anything stupid! If anything happens to me, Dr. Hemingway will upload a video I sent him that proves that you’re still alive. Then, everyone will know that you faked your death all along!”

“I’m already dying! There’s no difference if I die now or a day later!” However, Harris Corporation was the fruit of the Harris family’s blood, sweat, and tears over the past hundreds of years, and he would not let the family legacy die in his hands!

Master Harris snorted and shouted at his bodyguards, “Shut her up and take her away!”

The bodyguards grunted a quick response and grabbed a towel to stuff it in her mouth. Then, they helped her put on a cap, a mask, and shades before they pushed her out of the room while the others trailed behind with Master Harris.

These people were not gentle at all, and Sophia’s face twisted in pain as her wounds tore open.

She had thought that Master Harris only cared about himself, but she did not expect him to risk his own life just to protect Harris Corporation.

She had been too self-righteous all along. It turns out that the video she had taken made no use to threaten him...

“Be careful and make sure not to hurt her!” Master Harris yelled at his bodyguards and glared at them when he saw Sophia’s wounds tearing open.

Knowing how much Charles cared about this woman, this grandson of his would certainly go crazy on him the second he saw these wounds.

The bodyguards responded and eased their grasp.

There were people coming and going in the corridors, from doctors and nurses to patients and their families.

Sophia was beginning to panic, but the bodyguards had stuffed her mouth with a towel and she was wearing a mask so she could not cry for help.

The most she could do was whimper.

When anyone turned to look at them suspiciously, one of the bodyguards would explain, “My sister has manic depression, we’re worried she would scream or hurt other people so we have no choice but to do this.”

This was a hospital so nobody doubted them, some even comforted the bodyguard.

Sophia was incredibly agitated, but she was unable to open her mouth and speak for herself, so she could only let the bodyguards push her toward the elevator.

If she left the hospital and got into the car, she would not be able to turn around then!

Sophia’s throat tightened as she stared at the people passing by. Her only chance now was if she happened to bump into Dr. Hemingway or any of her other attendants.

Besides, the doctors had several other patients' cases on hand as well so it would not be unusual for her to meet them in the corridor.

Fortunately, she was in luck. Just as the bodyguards were about to push her into the elevator, Victor walked out of one of the hospital rooms.

“Wuwuwuwuwu... Wuuwuu!” Dr. Hemingway, help me!

Sophia’s eyes lit up and she tried to scream as loud as she could to attract Victor’s attention.

He heard her muffled cries and turned to look in her direction.

However, at the same time, a patient’s family member ran out of the room and stood right in front of him anxiously. “Dr. Hemingway, my son is complaining that his leg is suddenly hurting very badly, please come in quickly and have a look!”

Victor thought that the person who let out the strange noise felt familiar, but before he could have a closer look, the family members who rushed out of the room had anxiously dragged him into the room.

During this window of opportunity, the bodyguards and Master Harris had already brought Sophia downstairs where the Lincoln stretch limousine and SUV’s headed straight to Bamboo Virtues Village.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room.

“Dr. Hemingway, how is my son? He’s only eighteen years old! If anything happens to his leg, his entire life would be ruined!”

“He’s still so young! Dr. Hemingway, you must do everything you can to save him no matter what! We’re willing to pay however much it takes!”

“Dr. Hemingway, why is he complaining about the pain all of a sudden? Did his injury worsen?”

“Alright, that’s wonderful! Thank you, Dr. Hemingway!”

“Thank you, thank you! It’s great to hear that he’s fine!”

The patient’s family members thanked Victor gratefully.

Victor explained several other things for the family to take note of before hurrying out of the room. The person in the wheelchair earlier who looked like Sophia was now gone.

There was a nurse nearby, and so he went over and asked, “Did you see a female patient here just now?”

“Yes, it’s that friend of yours, Ms. Griffin.”

“I always see an old man who always goes to her room and brings her out too, he must be a friend of hers.”

“Just a few days ago, the old man brought Ms. Griffin out and this morning too. I think he just brought her out again just now.”

“Dr. Hemingway, I think you should try to talk to your friend. In her current condition, she shouldn’t go out too often, it’s too dangerous.”

The nurses had always liked him because of his looks and kindness. He was always nice toward them and gave them gifts from time to time, and so they told him everything they knew right away without him even asking.

An old man...

Dr. Hemingway repeated this in his head and thought of Sophia’s reluctance to tell him who was the person constantly taking her out of the hospital...

He furrowed as his head jerked up all of a sudden. If Sophia was able to fake her death, what were the chances that Master Harris had done the same as well?

“Alright, thank you all, I’ll treat you to boba later on.” Victor flashed them a small smile and thanked them before he walked away.

-

In the Lincoln limo.

A phone began to buzz suddenly.

Master Harris picked up the phone and glanced at it briefly. “Dr. Hemingway? Is this the Hemingway boy?”

In order to prove Sophia’s identity, he made sure to bring all of Sophia’s personal belongings in the room.

“Yes.” The towel that was stuffed in Sophia’s mouth earlier had been removed.

Seeing that Master Harris was just about to reject the call, she quickly said, “Dr. Hemingway already saw me just now before we left the hospital. If you end the call now, he’ll surely suspect something.”

Chapter 468 Come Up With Something Else Master Harris merely scoffed. “If I don’t end the call, do you expect me to let you answer the phone so you can ask for help? Do you think I’m stupid?”

“You’re not stupid, you’re just too wise and slick that you don’t have any friends at all,” Sophia replied with a sneer.

Master Harris’s expression instantly darkened. “You——”

“At this stage, there’s no need for me to drag Dr. Hemingway into this. Here, give me the phone.”

It did not matter what she did because there was no turning back now.
