Charlesâ handsome face was splattered with blood as well, and he looked just like a demon who had crawled out of hell. âIf I hear anything stupid that comes out of your mouth again, Iâll kill you.â
His voice was calm, but nobody dared take this as a joke.
Sawyer slumped on the ground as he trembled violently. The onlookers staring at him made him feel embarrassed, and as much as he wanted to refute, he did not have the guts to.
Shatter!
Charles dropped the blood-stained vase onto the floor, and Sawyer instantly paled as he flinched to the sound of the glass shattering on the floor.
When Mr. Phillips heard the commotion over here, he hurried over. âSaw, are you alright? Iâll call an ambulance right now!â
With that, he dialed 911 and reported the situation.
Charles did not bother staying either as he turned away with a cold look on his face.
Mr. Phillips, who had just ended the call, immediately called out to him angrily, âMr. Harris, how can you leave just like that after beating up my son?â
âWarn him not to show up in front of me anymore, or else Iâll beat him up every time I see him,â Charles said coldly as he paused in his tracks.
Although he looked unkempt and slobby, the overbearing demeanor and poise he had honed over the years being in his high position were wholly intact.
âHow bold of you!â Mr. Phillipsâ expression darkened when he heard Charlesâ words. âCharles Harris, do you still think the Harris family is still the same Harris family as before?â
He had recently heard that the Harris family could not stand Charlesâ self-deterioration anymore and decided to elect a new president as well as a new chairman of the corporation to avoid him becoming a burden.
In fact, he was not the only one who knew about this, many other company presidents had gotten wind as well.
The onlookers immediately turned to Charles to see his reaction. If he showed any signs of fear or perhaps admit to defeat, it meant that the rumors were true.
âIt doesnât matter, it wonât stop me from killing you. This is Sophiaâs funeral, all of you best keep your mouth shut.â Charlesâ gaze was as sharp as a blade as it paused on Mr. Phillips and the incredibly humiliated Sawyer, who was still slumped on the ground.
With that, he walked away without even looking back.
Mr. Phillips had assumed the news was true, but after seeing Charlesâ attitude, he could not help but feel doubtful.
If the Harris family was truly replacing him with someone else, how could he still be so arrogant?

Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous corner.
Sophia was bandaged from head to toe, sitting in a wheelchair with a nurse standing behind her.
Victor had wanted to bring her over but she was worried that him being a Hemingway might attract too much attention, and so she requested him to arrange for a nurse to take her.
Sophia saw everything that just happened and her heart was all tangled over.
Charles had always been slightly obsessed with personal hygiene and cleanliness, and he had always been extremely rational. In fact, he was so rational that she never thought he particularly liked her to the point that he could not live without her.
However, what she just witnessed shocked her to the core and she almost did not recognize the man at all.
She had never thought that he would lose himself like this just because of her, and was willing to give up everything he had to seek revenge for her...
âExcuse me, Miss, are you sick?â
Nicoleâs voice sounded from beside her and Sophia consciously lowered her head as her heart leaped in shock.
The nurse quickly answered in her place, âYes, Ms. Griffin is indeed injured severely. Ms. White once helped Ms. Griffin out during a charity event, and so after hearing about Ms. Whiteâs accident, she requested her doctorâs permission so she could come by and say goodbye to Ms. White.â
This was the cover story Sophia asked Victor to tell the nurse.
She was worried that her sister-in-law and the rest of them might suspect something when they saw her, but who knew she would really bump into one of them.
âOh, I see. Thank you for coming, Ms. Griffin.â Nicole had noticed her when she was casually looking around the room and she could not help but think that the lady seemed familiar, and so she stopped by to have a chat.
However, after staring for a long time, she still did not recognize Sophiaâs face.
The nurse noticed the questioning look in Nicoleâs eyes and quickly explained, âMs. Griffin was attacked with sulfuric acid so she... doesnât really like people staring at her.â
Worried that she would hurt Sophiaâs heart, the nurse made sure not to say that Sophiaâs face had been disfigured.
Nicole came to a realization and replied bitterly, âOur Soph was a beautiful girl as well but the car exploded when she...â
Perhaps it was because they were in the same boat, Nicole felt unusually sympathetic toward this stranger she had just met for the first time.
âMs. Griffinâs throat was injured as well, Iâll hereby thank you on her behalf,â the nurse said.
Sophia stared straightly at Nicoleâs empty right sleeve and she could not help but wince.
She indirectly caused Nicole to lose an arm, yet her sister-in-law had never blamed her... How did such a kind woman have to endure such hardships?
The nurse heaved a heavy sigh. âThatâs what her doctor and I have been telling her but sheâs too stubborn and she insists on coming.â
The two continued chatting for a while before Nicole left, having to entertain the other guests.
âWait a minute... Youâre Mrs. White, arenât you? Can I ask you a favor?â The nurse called out to Nicole in a troubled tone.
Nicole thought that the nurse recognized her from her missing arm and her face darkened. She consciously turned around sideways to block her empty right sleeve.
âWhat is it? Iâll try to help however I can.â
Nicole did not answer. However, the request rose a red flag in her mind. âThank you for your thoughtfulness, Ms. Griffin, I will thank you on behalf of Mr. Harris.â
This woman was bandaged head to toe when attending Sophâs funeral, refusing to show her face saying that her face was disfigured and not speaking a single word because her throat had been severely injured.
There was nothing she could say about this.
However, this woman claimed to be here to offer her condolences because of Sophâs help with the charity event, but before she even paid her respects, she was asking to see Mr. Harris. Nicole could not help but be suspicious.
This woman did not seem to be here for Sophâs funeral, but to see Mr. Harris!
Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
ï¤Chapter 451 Was He Giving Everything Up Sophia was not surprised. She had already expected Nicole to turn down her offer, so she merely waited for the nurse to continue with Victorâs instructions.
The nurse did not let her down! âMrs. White, if itâs inconvenient for us to see Mr. Harris, please pass this jade pendant and letter to Mr. Harris.â
In her hand laid an incredibly valuable jade pendant as well as a letter.
Nicole and Sophia had always been close, and this jade pendant was the one she suggested Sterling bid for as a gift to Sophia. Hence, she immediately recognized it at just one glance.
Disbelief came to her eyes and she froze for a second before she lurched forward and grabbed the pendant.
Although there was a huge scratch on the pendant, she was certain that this was the very one Soph always wore around her neck!
