Rainer held back his laughter and said, "Take a guess at what happened then."

Carla glanced at Terence, who was now looking annoyed. She sniffed before saying, "I guess that there must have been something wrong with Theo's brain. That was surely too much for anyone, especially Terence. One or two would have been enough for him."

"You're right! After a while, the door was kicked open and Mr. Terence staggered out to give Theo a nice, big punch,"

Rainer then continued enthusiastically.

He couldn't help laughing as he recalled the scene when Mr. Terence came out in swim trunks, with his body covered with lipstick marks.

Suddenly, Rainer stopped laughing, catching a glimpse of Mr. Terence's furious eyes through the rear-view mirror.

Rainer did not intend to give Terence's secret away. But upon Carla's constant prodding, he somehow let it slip out.

Carla leaned backwards and moved closer to Terence. "Tell me, why didn't you stay in the room with all those beauties?" she teased.

As a man in his tender, hormonal youth, it must have been hard for Terence to resist such a temptation.

Rather than feel jealous about his teenage experiences, Carla felt intrigued.

Terence stopped glaring at Rainer. He turned to look at Carla and said, "You want to know?"

Of course she did! It was rare to get an insight into Terence's past, and such an embarrassing incident at that. Carla quickly nodded.

"You'll find out tonight. Now it's time to eat." Terence blatantly changed the subject as the car pulled over in front of a gate. Ignoring Carla's reluctant face, he got out of the car.

"Okay, fine," Carla replied unwillingly and jumped out of the car.

But she couldn't help but think about the question that was lingering in her mind. It was like an obscure mystery to her. She couldn't imagine what could have happened in that room before he left it.

What did he do with all those beautiful women? But Carla decided not to push Terence. She put it aside until he was willing to talk about it.

Since he was determined not to discuss it any further, he wouldn't say another word about it, no matter how curious she was anyway. She may as well wait patiently for him to tell her.

Stepping out of the car, Carla looked up and found that they were in front of a building. It was called Mask Restaurant, with the word "Mask" written in English, while "Restaurant" was written in Chinese characters.

This place seemed very unique. Carla wondered what kind of place it was. It couldn't just be a simple restaurant, right?

Mask Restaurant? She had never heard of it before.

Her first impression of the name was that it was quite odd. It was neither fully English nor completely Chinese.

Terence was oblivious to Carla's musings. He hooked their arms together and they entered the building.

The lighting was dim. But a buzz of conversation was coming through the door. When they stepped into the hall, Carla instantly noticed that the diners all had half masks on their faces which effectively concealed their identities. They were talking and laughing casually as they enjoyed their meals.

The masks seemed to add a sense of security and mystery among the diners. They seemed not to mind sharing a table with strangers and be able to enjoy their food. Carla was fascinated by this scene where people were simply being themselves. They casually mingled and chatted with strangers without considering whomever they were with.

Terence seemed to be familiar with the place. He started guiding Carla towards the stairs on the side of the dining hall. Carla, on the other hand, couldn't move her feet quick enough as she was still looking around the dining hall with fascination.

Terence glanced at Carla. Taking her hand, he pulled her upstairs. They walked on the sparkling, clean floors. Since it was her first time in this restaurant, he wanted to ease her into this kind of concept. He decided to order food privately for both of them first.

"Terence, why can't we eat downstairs? It seems very interesting back there," Carla asked as she slowed her steps.

Terence frowned a little. "Don't you think that it's childish?" He kept walking in the corridor as he asked. "You may think anonymity is a good thing. But what happens afterwards? Think of when you take off the mask after dining with someone and find out that he's actually someone you really hate?

Won't you feel betrayed after that?" he pointed out.

"Well, there is a small possibility for that to happen, I suppose," countered Carla. But surely the chances of that happening are slim to none, right?

As they were walking, they passed by some other people. To Carla's surprise, she found that people on the second floor also had masks on.

There were also some people without masks, but no one that she could recognize.

Terence and Carla finally reached a private room at the end of the corridor. As they walked in, Carla noticed a table with various masks on it. It seemed guests were allowed to use these masks and return them before leaving.

Since the opportunity presented itself, naturally, she decided not to let this pass.

Therefore, Carla sneakily and quietly grabbed two masks from the table as they walked past. She held them in one hand behind her back. Terence didn't notice anything.

They were soon seated in the private room. It was quiet there.

Carla excused herself to go to the bathroom while Terence ordered their food. She moved away swiftly. Seeing this, Terence shook his head affectionately. He poured some tea for himself and slowly sipped the warm drink. He already knew all her tricks.

He knew Carla wouldn't be able to resist the fun. She had been seized by her joyful curiosity and couldn't wait to join the party.
