Andrea patted the back of Carla's hand lovingly. She then said, with a big smile on her face, "There's no great gain without a small loss. On the bright side, I didn't think that I would see you again in my lifetime. God really blessed me. I get to spend some quality mother-daughter time with you. So I am positive that you will also have the luck to get over any difficulty ahead of you."
Carla nodded and hugged Andrea tightly. She knew Andrea was trying to look at the bright side of things and be cheerful for her sake. A bitter smile appeared on her face as many thoughts popped in her mind.
Although she had lost so many things and been through so much, at least she had a mother, who loved her sincerely and selflessly. No matter what, she had her mom by her side.
This may be the only thing she could feel happy about in the upcoming days.
"Mom, haven't they come to see you recently?"
