In the engagement party,
The party was held at a big wedding hall, everything looks beautiful, decorated to perfection.
Isha and bhavik stand among the crowd of guests, isha pop a sweet smile, hiding her rotten personality.
Avni and pallavi was standing in a corner. Pallavi was having a glass of champagne in her hand but avni was standing quietly with a sulky face.
Pallavi replied consoling her "bestie, ye ek party hai pr Tera face dekh ke aisa lg rha hai jese tu kisi ke funeral me aayi hai (bestie, this is supposed to be a party but your face looks like it's a funeral.)"
Pallavi forces among the crowd before giving avni a glass of champagne in her hand.
Avni replied sadly "pallavi, ye engagement party nhi mere liye torture hai. Me yha rukna nhi nhi chahti. Me yha rehne ki jgh kisi ke funeral me Jana psnd krungi (pallavi , this engagement party is torture for me. i don't even want to be here. I'd rather be at a funeral than here.)" and took a sip of champagne.
Pallavi consoled"cheer up, bro. Ye sirf engagement hai, ye Mt bhul ki ham yha kyu aay hai (cheer up, bro. this is just the engagement, don't forget why we're here.)"
Pallavi added further looking at Bhavik and isha "sch kahu to, vha pe dhule Raja bhi khush nhi dikh rhe (to be fair, mr. groom over there doesn't look very thrilled.)"
Pallavi continued with a horrific expression"or tune isha ka makeup dekha? Bapre kitna daravna lg rha hai (and have you seen isha's makeup? horrendous!)"
But avni didn't laugh at any joke either. Avni's eyes move to bhavik who is just giving a sad expression while talking to some guests. His face stands In sharp contrast to his soon-to-be bride who is all smiles.
Pallavi ordered "tu sari rat aise ek kone me khadi nhi reh skti, ander ja or bhavik se bat kr (you can't be standing in a corner all evening, go inside and talk to bhavik.)"
Avni thought"I need to find a way to stop this engagement before it's too late!" And took a deep breath.
And finally she gathered some courage and decided to go in between where all the family members where present. But in between she met aadinath.
Aadinath exclaimed with a pleasant smile "avni, mujhe khushi hai ki tum party me aayi (avni, I'm glad you made it to the party.)"
Avni replied with a gentle smile"me itne important event ko miss nhi kr skti thi (i can't miss an important event.)"
Aadinath replied"thanks to you, Mere kch fraud clear ho gy, isliye he me pakde jane ki chinta kiye bina logo ko invite kr Paya (thanks to you ,clearing some of my fraud, I was able to invite people without being worried about getting caught.)"
He complimented"you are really a very skilled accountant"
Avni thought tensely"even though he has roped me into something illegal, he's still my boss"
Avni replied formally"I'm only fulfilling my duty as a daughter"
Aadinath replied"I'm sure your mother will be proud of you"
He added further" or hn party ko dil kholkar enjoy krna. Ye isha or hamari family ke liye bohot badi rat hai (please enjoy the party to your heart's content.this is a big night for isha and our family.)
And his phone started ringing, he picked up the call and went from there.
Seeing all this, pallavi came there, and exclaimed "damn. This family is fucked up. Tu inke sath kese rehti hai? (damn. This family is fucked up. How do even stay with them?)"
Avni chuckled and replied"welcome to Mafia world. Tujhe bhi in sb chizon ki aadat ho jayegi (welcome to the mafia world. you'll get used to it.)"
Pallavi asked in a serious tone"kya tu sch much abhi bhi Bhanushali's ke sath rahegi? Tere sath itna sb kch hone ke bade bhi? (are you really going to stay with the Bhanushali's after everything they 've put you through ?)"
And avni stopped laughing and got upset"mere pas koi khas choice nhi hai. Mujhe meri mummy ki help krni hai taki mere papa ka jo bhi karz hai, me use chuka sku(it's not much of a choice. I have to help my mother clear whatever debt my father had.)"
Avni added further"even though I've never seen him. I have a duty towards him as his daughter "
Pallavi replied"tu sch me bohot brave hai, avni. (you're really brave, avni.)"
Pallavi ordered"ab ja or bhavik ko dhund, mene use garden ki tarf jate hue dekha tha(now go find bhavik, I saw him walk towards the garden.)"
Avni nodded in yes and went towards the garden.

After a few minutes of searching, avni finally finds him in the corner, looking very angry while exchanging a heated argument with his father.
Avni thought "what are they even talking about?"
And went a bit closer and tried to overhear their conversation.
Bhavik replied "me isha se shadi nhi krna chahta hu!(I don't want to marry isha!)"
Daksheesh replied"bhavik, ham is bare me pehle bat kr chuke hai (bhavik, we've talked about this before.)"
Daksheesh ordered"beta, tum ab is engagement se piche nhi hat skte. Chahe tum chaho ya nhi, ye to hokar rahegi (you can't just back down from this engagement, son. this is going to happen whether you like it or not.)"
Bhavik replied"or agr me kisi or ko like krta hu to? Kisi aisi ladki ko jiske values isha se bhi behtar ho or jo mere sath hona deserve krti ho (what if I like someone else? someone who has better values than isha and is deserving to stand by my side.)"
Avni thought and started blushing"is he..... talking about me?"
Avni's heart beats against her chest rapidly, watching bhavik fight his way out of his engagement with isha, making avni feel hopeful for their future together.
Daksheesh replied rudely "kya tum us assistant ki bat kr rhe ho? Mera mu mt he khulvao, bhavik! (are you talking about that assistant ? don't even get me started, bhavik!)"
Daksheesh added further"ek varis ko, hone vale mafia king ko kisi mafia blood ki ladki se he shadi krni hogi, or vo assistant ? Vo sirf ek garib employee hai, or ham to uske maa -baap ko bhi nhi jante, vo useless hai hamare liye (an heir must marry someone of mafia blood, that girl is a poor employee and we don't know who her parents are, she brings nothing to the table! )"
Daksheesh informed further" you cannot marry an outsider, that's the first rule of mafia world"
Mr. Vaidya's harsh words stab straight to avni's chest and the newly- found hope in her heart quickly broke into a million pieces.Tears started flowing down her eyes.
The conversation between both of them ends and Daksheesh went from there.
Avni was also about to go just then bhavik saw her and asked "avni? Tum yha kya kr rhi ho? (Avni? What are you doing here?)"
Avni got a bit shocked after listening to bhavik's voice, Avni turned towards bhavik and took a deep breath and wipe her tears off and replied in a low voice"aapko yha nhi hona chaiye, bhavik! Kya aapne suna nhi aapke dad ne kya kha?(you shouldn't be here, bhavik! did you not hear your father?)"
Bhavik got shocked listening to this"mere dad ne? Oh god! Tumne vo sb sun liya?(my father? oh god! you heard that.)"
Bhavik felt bad and apologized" I'm so sorry, avni. Tumhe vo sb sun na pda (I'm so sorry that you had to hear that, avni)"
Avni replied in the same low voice"that's not even the worst part. your father hates me and isha is the better option for you and it's too late now."
And again tears started flowing from her eyes. She added further "aapki Puri family chahti hai ki aap isha se shadi kro. Agr Aap chaho to bhi ab is engagement se free nhi ho skte ho(your whole family wants you to marry isha. it's hard to break free from the engagement even if you want to.)"
Bhavik steps closer and reaches for her face. His hand softly wipes away the steaming tears from her eyes.
