Isha replied"oh, me kisi college me nhi jati hu, kyunki mujhe iski zarurat nhi hai (oh, i didn't go to any college, i didn't need to. )"
And without even thinking once isha added further"meri mom hamesha mujhse kehti thi ki jb me badi ho jaungi to meri shadi kisi Amir ladke se ho jayegi.....(my mother always told me that when I grow up, I'll marry a wealthy man ..)"
And listening to this,Daksheesh and lateeka got shocked. And rama and aadinath started feeling embarassed.
Rama interrupted covering her up "iska mtlb hai ye janti hai ki ghr kese sambhalte hai, mene ise sb kch acchi tarah se sikhaya hai (she means she knows how to take care of the household, I've taught her well. )"
Isha added further"mujhe to lgta hai ki agr aapke pas itni katilana adaye hai to fir education to bilkul useless hai, me sunder hu and I know it (I think education is useless if you've got the looks to die for,I'm beautiful and I know it.)"
And avni's patience ran out and she finally spoke up"you know what isha, mujhe to tum pe Daya aati hai. Ham dono me se, mene tumse kahi zyada success achieve ki hai, jise tum kbhi accept bhi nhi kr skti (you know what isha, i pity you. between the two of us, I've achieved more success than you could ever care to admit.)"
Isha's jaw drops, avni's sudden boldness surprised her. And she replied after gulping "tum apne bare me kch zyada he sochti ho, avni! (y-you think too highly of yourself, avni! )"
Avni added further"jb tum apna time or din parties or clubs me waste krti ho, tb me tumhare papa ko unki company vapis dilane me help krti hu. Or shyd mujhe tumhare family business ki bate tumse zyada pta hogi. Well, ye to koi shock ki bat nhi hai, kyunki tumhe is bat ki zyada parvah hai ki tum roz kitna drink krti ho, rather than ki tum tumhari family ke liye kitna contribute krti ho(while you spend your days wasting away in parties and clubs, I help your father get his company back. i probably know more things about the family business than you.well, it's not a shock considering that you care more about how much booze you gulp more than how much you can contribute to the family. )"
Rama replied frustatedly"kitni ghamandi ho tum! Tumhe lgta ki tum meri beti se behtar ho? (how arrogant! you think you're better than my daughter? )"
Avni replied shrugging her shoulders"of course, me hu us se better! Kr skti ho aap mujhe wrong prove? (Of course, I'm better than her! Can you prove me wrong?)"
Lateeka interrupted" me genuinely avni ki bat se agree krti hu, kisi bhi ladki ko uski beauty se zyada hona chaiye, afterall,sirf looks he sb kch thdi hote hai (i actually agree with avni, after all, a girl should be more than her looks. )"
Isha falls quiet, her fingers tightly clutching the utensils as a shadow of humiliation appears on her face.
Bhavik whispered in a seductive tone, so it can only be heard by avni "Damn. I never get tired of seeing your bossy side"
And an awkward silence spread over the room.
Finally aadinath spoke up"mujhe lgta hai ab samay aa gya hai ki ham apne matbedho ko dur rkhe or zyada important matter ki baatchit shuru kre (i think it's time we set aside our differences and start talking about the more pressing matters. )"
Rama replied"nath sahi keh rhe hai. Ab hame engagement ki date fix kr leni chahiye kyunki ab bhavik ko election me aage aana hai or mafia world ka boss bnna hai (my husband is right.let's talk about the engagement since bhavik needs to step up in the election and become the boss of the mafia world.)"
Avni thought getting upset"I really don't wanna hear any of these engagement talks...."
Daksheesh replied in a serious tone"kher, yehi main reason hai ki mene aap logo ko yha invite kiya hai. Isha or bhavik ki engagement vese he hogi jese pehle plan ki thi (well, that's the main reason why I invited you here. the engagement between isha and bhavik will go as planned. )"
Just then bhavik unwillingly bang his fork and knife on the table.....His face dark with unhidden irritation."aapne mujhse Mera opinion tk nhi liya, papa(you didn't even ask me for my opinion, father.)"
Daksheesh replied with an evil smirk"tum kya bol rhe ho bhavik?ye shadi dono families ke liye important hai; or tum jante ho ki mafia king hamesha ek family man he Banta hai, ye ek important necessity hai, ek shart jesi .(what are you talking about bhavik?This marriage is important for both our families; you know the mafia king is always a family man, it's one of the preconditions.)"
Bhavik's face bend in anger as he stands up, his sharp eyes dart at his father and avni can sense the hint of challenge formalized on them.
Avni thought getting tensed "he looks fed up!"
Bhavik ordered "me ab is se zyada kch nhi sununga (I'm not having more of this.)" and angrily leaves the place, leaving all of them surprised. The dinning room is empty of his presence but the weight of tension remains.
Lateeka called "bhavik ruko! (Bhavik wait!)"
Daksheesh facepalmed tensely"ye hamesha vohi krta hai jo ye chahta hai (that son of mine always does what he wants!)" and unbutton the top button of his shirt while his wife calms him down.
Avni replied awkwardly "please excuse me!" And stood up from the chair.
Rama asked rudely"ab tum kha ja rhi ho? (now where do you think you're going?)"
Avni replied"mrs. Bhanushali, I need some fresh air" and leave the dinning room without sparing another glance at anyone else in the room.
As she went out, she saw bhavik standing in the balcony, staring at the moon, the moonlight across his face making him look like a prince charming.
Avni thought "there he is!" And took a deep breath.
Avni called "bhavik!"
He turned around but doesn't respond and continues to stare at her with some distance with a ciaggrate in his hand.
Avni came a bit closer and added further "bhavik, is tarah achanak dinning table se uth ke aa jana rude hai (bhavik, it rude to just suddenly leave the dining table like that.)"
Bhavik replied with an emotionless face"or vo rude nhi hai jo mujhe ek aisi shadi ke liye force kr rhe hai jo me nhi krna chahata (and they're rude for forcing me into a marriage i never wanted.)"
Avni asked surprisingly"aap nhi chahte ye shadi krna? Aapse pehle kisi ne aapka opinion nhi pucha? (You don't want to get married? Didn't anyone ask for your opinion before?)"
Bhavik laughed sarcastically"hn? Tumhe lgta hai ye sb meri marzi se ho rha hai? (Huh? Do you think all this is happening with my consent?)"
He added further"aisa ho he nhi skta, ki me us se shadi krne ke liye ha krdu! (It is not possible that I would say yes to marry her.)"
Avni replied in a low voice avoiding eye contact with him "lekin ye shadi aapki family ke liye bohot matter krti hai (but his marriage means a lot to your family.)"
Bhavik replied "well, mere liye nhi. Me aisi ladki se shadi nhi kr skta, jis se me pyar nhi krta (well, not to me. i refuse to marry a woman i don't love.)" he looks at her, his eyes are full of love and truth. The affection in his stare teases the emotions within him.
