Chapter 62: 62 Telling the Alpha

“You had a plan?” I ask, my voice extremely calm for the rage I feel within me. “You had a f*cking plan?” I say with more force. “Having Oliver stand by in the forest with members who aren’t warriors isn’t a plan!” I yell at his face which is clouded with uncertainty. No one, and I mean absolutely no one goes against an Alpha. But I’ve had it, I am done!

“I saved your ass, I saved the pack and your precious Luna. What happened to ‘The pack comes first’? Did you even think about the phrase?”

He doesn’t answer me. I see more pack members come to watch the scene I am making in the garden. Igétas lets me tell his brother off, supporting me without intervening. Our mating bond is strong and I am certain he knows that I need to do this.

“Did you know that for the first time since Igétas told me that statement, I understood it when the rogue grabbed your mate? How important it is for a leader to sacrifice everything for the pack, even happiness, even someone they love? I understood it and you didn’t handle it! You put your mate first and your people suffered!”

Tharros’ face grows red. He hands Yolanda over to a medic and steps into my personal space. I am not scared. Igétas steps closer too, but I put my hand up and he takes place behind me, not in front of me. I feel alive, having adrenaline rushing through me, and I never felt so strong in my life.

“You need to stop running your mouth human!” He booms and I don’t move.

“What will you do to me? You know that I am right. I have had it with you! You need to behave. You just got a taste of losing your mate, the feeling Igétas lives with every day since my heat stroke. How dare you dismiss the seriousness of the situation. You put pack members in danger having an unmated wolf go crazy. Even with your solution of warriors following him around, it is stupid. I conquered everything, and let me tell you; I conquered you too. Take a f*cking seat Alpha, You’re done! You did horrible in there!” The moment I say ‘take a seat’, a powerful wave comes over me and rolls through Tharros. He is staggering on his legs like a baby deer and falls to his knees.

The crowd who is gathered around us isn’t quiet any longer, and makes gasping noises. Tharros’ eyes go wide, looking at his knees and pushing his hands in the soil not able to stand anymore.

I turn to my mate, his mouth hangs open and I close it for him and whisper; “What happened?”

“I am not completely sure, it looks like the power has shifted and you have a Luna command. You told him to sit down and he couldn’t disobey.” He looks just as shocked as I am.

“How is that even possible? The whole reason for me to be able to intervene with the rogues was because I wasn’t a member under Alpha command.”

Igétas thinks for a second, “Maybe luna-courage gives you a Luna command? I don’t know. We need to find out soon and...” We get interrupted by Amanda.

“Can you two please focus on the task at hand?” She gestures to the Alpha on his knees trying but failing to stand.

Right.

“Stand up?” I say in a less convincing voice.

He does, looking humiliated. “Listen,” I say, commanding him without any thought.

“Let’s talk about things tomorrow. You two,” I point at the Alpha and Beta, “clean up this mess, be there for your people. First thing tomorrow, we are going to sit down and discuss everything.”

I kiss my mate on his cheek, missing the feel of him after our fight. I’m turning away when I hear the Alpha say something. I have no idea what, but turn to listen anyway.

“Don’t,” I say, seeing the Alpha threaten my mate. “Now that the threat is gone, I can mate with my male. Or are you challenging him to a duel for the pack now, when he has enough wolfsbane in his system to not even connect with Vasil? Help your people and tomorrow, we’ll talk this out.”

I turn away, hearing my mate tell his brother that I am right. That he can go to the hospital, to Yolanda and he will take care of the rest. He agrees and leaves.

I find Maya, telling her I will be at Igétas place and asking if she could help me there. She says she will help.

After getting my stuff and moving back into Igétas apartment, I lay down on the couch. What a hectic day, I look at the clock and it isn’t even lunchtime yet. Feeling the Luna-courage leave my body makes me weak. Maya comes by at the perfect time.

“Oh Honey, you look horrible.”

“Well, I did drink poison, like four shots of it.”

“I didn’t say that you didn’t have a reason to feel that way.”

“Do you think you can vomit by yourself or do I need to use this?” She asks, holding up something I don’t want in my body.

“Give me a bucket, I can puke right now.” And I do. After that, she washes my face and takes me to bed, helping me and tucking me in. She explains that I used a lot of energy and need to sleep and she will check on me in a few hours.

I take a deep breath and let sleep take me. I wake up, aware that someone is lying next to me. Opening my tired eyes, I see my handsome mate.

“Hey,”

“Hey,”

“How are you?”

“I’m feeling better. Sleeping helped.” I stretch my limbs.

“How are you?”

He holds me tighter, “I can’t feel Vasil. It drives me nuts.”

“Of course it does, he will come back right?”

“Yes, I hope tonight. Did you know that you smell amazing?”

He is nuzzling my neck and I giggle.

“How late is it?”

“It’s five o’clock. Everything is taken care of. Welton is recovering, it isn’t clear how it will go, however he has a chance now, thanks to you. Tharros will be waiting for us tomorrow in the conference room.”

“Good,” I say.

“Do you have a plan?” He asks me, and I look into his green eyes.

“No, not really. I just don’t want you guys to fight.”

He takes a deep breath looking back at me, “I know it seems barbaric, still it is the werewolves’ way. I don’t look forward to it, he is an Alpha and won’t step down easily.”

“We’ll figure it out.”

He kisses my forehead. “Of course we will.”

I cuddle in his warmth and let sleep take me for the second time today.
