Acton Island: The Vulcan Clan

Emma awakened to a soft snoring. Feeling large warms hands griping her waist wrapping around her stomach and soft puffs of air on her neck, she smiled. This was what she craved or all her life, she thought. Carefully turning and despite his firm grip she was stronger, she faced her mate while her fingers reached out to gently caress his face.

It had been two days since Lucifer invaded her dreams. However, since then, Dmitri had been sleeping in her bed, guarding her sleep leaving Lucifer unable to access her mind.

Her fingers trailed Dmitri's temple along his face touching his strong jaw before softly ghosting over his full lips. What would it be like to kiss him? She wondered.

Just then Jake's eyes fluttered open as a soft smile graced his lips. Once of adoration and pure warmth. He was in bliss waking up with his beautiful mate in his arms, this all he ever wanted.

"Jake?" Emma questioned unsure. His eyes chocolate brown shone brightly in hope, not a hint of gold. Dmitri gave him full control but why?

"Yes, my wolf let me take over."

He spoke softly, quietly observing her not moving an inch. Jake was unaware of Dmitri.

"When?" She questioned, though she shouldn't, she took a guilty pleasure in being in his arms.

"The moment you fell asleep." At her furrowed eyebrows Jake continued.

"My wolf explained that Lucifer can't reach you once you are in physical contact with me, it is impossible." Jake finished praying that she let him hold her longer.

"Why?" She questioned without emotion.

Like a dagger to the heart Jake flinched but didn't relinquish his hold on her, if anything he moved closer. He already knew she didn't want him and how can he blame her after everything he did.

"He said you needed to bond with both of us to reach your full potential." He finished looking defeated. While she needed him to beat Lucifer, she didn't want him. She didn't even want to look at him. Many a times she would leave when they were in the same room.

"Maybe...." She trailed off softly lost in thought before breaking free of his arms and dragging herself to the edge of the bed before climbing out. She was too tiny to reach the edge of the bed unlike Jake who simply turned siting up and his feet reached the floor.

Pulling on a robe over her sleep wear she glanced over her shoulder to a shirtless Jake who remained seated on the bed looking dejected.

This was no longer about her and trusting him. If Lucifer was involved the whole world could be at stake. She wasn't going to blinding trust Jake because she needed him. She is going to make sure he could stand at her side and face the devil himself in order to protect the very thing he despised, humans. More importantly she wanted him to learn to protect them as a child of god rather than to just get on her good side. She needed to be sure of where his heart lies if they were to face Lucifer.

Suddenly she turned to face him with a hard blank face. Squaring her shoulders, she walked right in front of him almost sharing each other's breath as she stepped between his long legs.

Jake was taken aback by this, confused but still excited that she came this close to him. Warm chocolate eyes gazed at her with hope and renewed determination. He would do everything to get his mate.

Like this he was still a few inches taller but that didn't deter her.

"Currently you're not fit to stand by my side against Lucifer. Your heart is not in the right place. You don't care about what will happen to the humans. You simply want me."

She finished looking at him with an unwavering expression. Cutting through him, her words pierced his heart.

Yes, he started sympathizing with the humans. He now understands what it was like to be weak. He didn't hate them anymore but he didn't have a great desire to protect them. He just didn't care to further demean something so weak. They already had to live with being born human.

"Does it matter? I'll do whatever you want. Anything to stay with you. I can't live without you."

He finished determined his eyes blazing as he returned her gaze. Yes, they had different ways of thinking, he was selfish, she was selfless. However, if he lived the way she wanted everything should be fine.

"There is one way I can fully trust you." She spoke gravely.

Jake's eyes widened as he rushed to speak at the first glimmer of hope, "Anything, I'll do it!"

"A Blood Contract." She finished with a heavy stare.

Jake froze as the words finally made sense in his mind.

'A Blood Contract'? I'll be her slave until she releases me. Disobey and I die.

With wide eyes he whispered, unable to even speak in a normal tone.

"Is there no other way?" He questioned eyes lowered.

"Lucifer is not just powerful, he is an absolute being, equal to a god. His forte is the mind, he knows all your sins, knows all your wicked thoughts, all your dark desires. He is the god of hell. If your will for good is not true and strong, he can sway your heart, tempt you, change you, corrupt you, control you. You could become his slave."

By the time Emma was finished Jake looked distressed. He now knew why she was so hesitant to trust him.

"You could become my downfall."

Those words shot straight through his mind and heart. He would die first before he brought her harm.

Slowly kneeling he accepted, after all this wasn't just a normal blood contract, sealing a deal or promising a favour. He was becoming her slave. Mind, body and soul. While he would still be himself, he will now be absolutely loyal to her.

Placing her hand on his shoulder she teleported them back to the cave that Dimitri had brought them too. If she was sealing him to herself, she wanted to use all her powers, making the bond impossible to break.

Jake's eyes scanned the surroundings surprised but by the look on his mate's face he knew this was her doing.

On his knees he was now level with her chest, looking up into her eyes he spoke softly, affectionately.

"At least now, I'll always be with you."

At his words they both smiled at each other. For the first time she let the mate bond engulf her.

"Regardless, you will always be my mate." She spoke before her fangs extended.

As her seals broke, Jake struggled to stay upright. As the last of her seals broke his body turned to jelly and he dropped but not before she grabbed his shoulder lending him strength.

Lending down her fang punctured her tongue, as the red liquid beaded Jake followed suit letting his fang puncture his tongue as well before her lips met his.

What was supposed to be a simple contract signing turned heated. They couldn't have enough of each other. After all they were embracing the mate bond.

Finally, as the kiss came to an end, they separated but barely. Emma lingered just inches in front of him as he spoke strongly.

"I vow to live by your will. You now have my absolute loyalty. My live is now yours. Defiance to this is my death." He finished as the heavy chains of his words wrapped tightly around his heart. The blood contract is complete.

"Now that I can truly accept you, there is one more thing I need to do... mark you."

Emma then bend down sinking her fangs into his neck cementing their bond. She was now his as he was hers. The mate bond was finally completed both by wolf and man.

Warmth surrounded them as they got over whelmed by each other. They now feel everything. Jake can now feel her presence within him as she could with him.

"You accepted me, but why now?" He questioned confused but overjoyed at the same time.

"Now you belong to me, heart, body and soul. I could trust you as a mate."

"In time you will trust me regardless, I'll work hard for that." He promised.

"I'll wait for you, as long as it takes." She smiled back at him as they shared a tender moment.

Now fully bonded, it changed his way of thinking, he simply didn't care anymore about how he felt. She was his everything.

Suddenly a blinding light flashed across the cave as Emma cried falling to her knees. Jake quickly realized the light was coming from within her. Light beams shoot out of her eyes as her whole body started shining brightly, blindingly. He had no choice but to shield his eyes as he screamed for Ambrose.

Finally, after a while the light died down as the distance sound of dragons wings could be heard. Ambrose was coming. Crawling forward he reached for her as his eyes was still dazzled but wanting to make sure she was okay.

Reaching forward his fingers meet feathers. Cracking an eye open he gasped at the sight before him. Emma was lying on the floor, unconscious but what was bringing his whole mind to a full stop was the pair of feather angel wings that lay underneath her. One ivory black and one pure snow white.

. . . .

Near Acton Island Underwater

Alaric's undead army

"Stop!" Alaric issued the command through mind link.

They were close, he could sense it. The light energy of the island's shield was just ahead. He can't let any of them touch it or it would warn the light witch that created the shield. Alaric needed to destroy it with one powerful blow and with it the light witch would die.

Starting his chants as the rest of the witch council leaders stood behind him. Alaric gathered all his strength as the other leaders added to his. For the spell to work his power needed to be absolute to the light witch's. He needed to be powerful enough to neutral his magic.

....

Acton Island

The Caves

Emma laid unmoving as Jake tried waking her. Ambrose rushed forward in awe kneeling down to check on her as Deacon stood from a far. Alice flew over as she saw Ambrose and Deacon rushing out, they had all been together when Ambrose got Jake's distress call. Landing she stepped forward in shock.

Leaning over her single feather chain sparkled, the same one given to her by Emma that time long ago on King's Island. The feather contained a part of her power, a part of her soul.

Taking it off Alice placed it around Emma's neck as it turned into an actually pure white feather and re-joined Emma's single white wing.

Just then her eyes flew open, crystal blues with an outer blood red ring. Emma blinked a few times before gasping loudly.

Jake rushed to help her up as the other stepped back.

"Are you okay?" Jake questioned.

"I think so... what happened?" Emma questioned feeling confused and out of sorts.

"You passed out after you marked me. You started glowing..."

Looking up at him she noticed something on her side, her eyes meet a pure ivory black wing. Turning the other way, she saw a pure white wing.

"What is this?" She questioned confused reaching to touch them but her question was aimed at Ambrose.

"I don't know..." Ambrose trailed off as a shiver of fear went down his spine looking at her single black wing.

If Ambrose don't know, Dmitri might. Emma thought turning to Jake.

Caressing his cheek, she spoke softly, "Thank you for forming the blood contract and choosing to stay by my side." She smiled tenderly as he smiled back.

"Of course, I'll never leave you." He whispered.

"I have to ask you to retreat, I need Dmitri now." Her hand remained as she spoke gently.

Though pain flashed across his face briefly, he understood. "Okay"

Dmitri! Emma called in a command, her first since the blood contract was formed. Instantly his eyes closed to reopen as a bright yellow. While Dmitri was always aware of everything when Jake was in control the same wasn't so for Jake, being the human side he was weaker and can only remember when he was in control.

"My love." Dmitri spoke sweetly cupping her face in his large warm hands before kissing her forehead.

"Finally, you are ready." He finished.

"You know about these wings?" Emma questioned as everyone now looked at Dmitri for an answer.

"Born from a fallen angel the lines were blurred. Fallen angels are destined to turn from light to dark, which is why you were given me, a mate. God knew that unlike other demi gods born from a pure angel, you would be different. You would be susceptible to the darkness, but at the same time you would be an even greater opponent to it. He had already sent his purest angel to fight and he lost, you were his last hope. You walk the border between good and evil and so he gave you me. As your mate it's my job to keep you grounded. To make sure the light always out shines the dark."

Dmitri finished as everyone mouths fell open.
