As expected, dividing the forces properly was crucial to dealing with Seraphine and the two who had sworn to protect her.

Seraphine, now a full-fledged demon, had to be killed—there was no other way. But killing Luke and Antonio would only escalate the situation further. Losing Seraphine was something we might be able to recover from… eventually. But unnecessary casualties would only complicate things.

The allocation of our forces needed to ensure we could subdue them effectively without causing irreparable harm.

“Yes. I’ve seen enough of her skills on the way here. I can handle her by myself.”

“Don’t kill her, Ethan. Just subdue her.”

“I know. I’m used to subduing maids anyway, so don’t worry.”

With that quip, Ethan drew his dual swords and charged toward Luke. The rabid hound, loyal to her now-demonic master, swung her weapon at Ethan with wild abandon.

“Stay back!! Don’t come any closer!! Not the Princess, never the Princess!!”

“I’m here to help you, Miss Luke!” Antonio shouted, moving to assist her.
