Mirif hid in the furthest stall of the bathroom to avoid me.
I had already wasted enough time waiting, so rather than stand around, I decided to continue the conversation with just a thin door between us.
"Mirif, I have no choice but to speak to you like this."
"W-what? Even here"
"I wouldnât choose to have a serious conversation in this kind of place either, but you kept running away, so I had no choice. Itâs not good to leave misunderstandings unresolved between us, is it?"
"â¦â¦."
"I donât have much time, so Iâll be direct, Mirif."
Even though I was technically on a break, Ethan might worry if I was too late, and Eris and Isabel were waiting for me, too. I decided to carefully bring up the topic of when Mirif had started avoiding me.
"Do you remember how I pretended to be a survivor from the beastman village in the professor's underground lab?"
"Yesâ¦."@@novelbin@@
"Thanks to that act, we were able to escape from that demon professor, right?"
"Thatâs true⦠You were really amazing thenâ¦."
"Thank you. Anyway, I wanted to clarify because it seems you misunderstood something from my act that day. Iâm not connected to the beastman village or demons in any wayâIâm a 100% ordinary human."
