The dagger that had struck the tough skin of Belusâs neck bounced off and fell to the ground.
In the awkward silence that followed, everyone in the room stared at Belus in shock.
"â¦Youâre not human, are you?"
"No, I am human⦠for now, at least."
Whoosh!
Ethan swung his sword toward Belusâs neck, imbuing it with aura, clearly intending to silence any further words. He mustâve realized, like I had, that this figure was dangerous. However, having been exposed as something other than human, Belus had no intention of letting Ethanâs strike land so easily.
Whoosh!
Belus quickly moved backward to avoid the blow, his swift movements adding to my confusion.
"How is it that someone like him never appeared in the original story?"
A being of this strength should have appeared in Luminaur Academyâas either a high-ranking demon general or a traitor on the human side. Furthermore, the atrocities heâd committed went beyond what any small-time villain would be capable of. Experimenting on humans to turn them into monsters wouldnât have been tolerated anywhere within the empire.
"I would have liked more time for my research⦠but I suppose itâll be difficult to procure materials within the Academy now."
"That much is certain. You wonât be leaving here alive."@@novelbin@@
"Oh, really? I think itâs you who wonât be leaving here alive."
Thud!
"W-what! The wall is moving!"
The moment he pressed a red button on a remote, a thick wall dropped down, blocking the entrance weâd come through.
Pop, pop!
Shatter!
Squirm, squirm.
Boom!
Thud, thud! Thud, thud!
Squirm, squirm.
