Alyssa came running over to the lunch table with a huge grin on her face and a piece of paper in her hand. She stopped beside me and held the paper in front of her.
I looked at the paper and started reading. "Softball evaluations on Monday. After school until four thirty."
"Aren't you excited. This is the best news I've got all week." She smiles, sitting down beside me.
Jordan was sitting on my right and turned his head to listen to Alyssa and me. "I still need to practice a little." I tell her.
"That's where I come in," Jordan says, "I can help you tomorrow after football practice." He offers.
"And I can help you today. Pitcher position is mine, so don't try and go for it." She points.
I laugh, "Don't worry. I don't think I could steal it from you even if I tried. Also, I can't go today. Jordan and I are going to the mall after he gets out of practice."
"Well, can Jake and I tag along. I feel like I never see you anymore. Jordan always has your attention." She rolls her eyes at Jordan.
"Hey, it's not my fault that she rather hang out with me than you." He smirks.
"As if. It's not her fault that you're clingy." Alyssa fires back.
Daniel, Troy, Ryan, and some other guys from the football team make the ooohhh sound. Jordan shoots her a bird before turning to talk to Troy.
I laugh at them both before turning my attention back to Alyssa. "Of course you can come. I'll let you know what time to meet us over there." I smile.
She nods her head and we go into a conversation about softball and how the evaluation will be set up.
*****
Jordan was walking with me to the parking lot to our cars. Lately I've been parking by him. Girls have been giving me the stink eye all week because of how close Jordan and I are becoming.
"I was hoping you wouldn't have showered so that we could go to your house and talk to your parents." I smile.
He laughs, "They're really fond of you for some unknown reason."
I hit his arm. "They're fond of me for the same reason that you're fond of me."
"Whatever you say, Midget. I'll follow you to the mall." He gives my hand a quick squeeze before getting into his car.
I've been dying to kiss him lately, but I want to take things slow and make sure I'm not going to get hurt. Jordan won't even attempt to kiss me anymore. He said he wouldn't until I asked him to. It's going to take me forever to build up the courage to ask him to kiss me.
I get into my car and send Alyssa a quick text letting her know that I'm on the way to the mall. I'm kind of nervous about the Halloween party this weekend. Jordan promised not to leave me, but lately Jordan has been letting me down. I can see the change in him, but there are still some things he needs to work on.
I park my car and get out. Jordan meets me at the entrance and we both walk into the mall together.
"I told the guys they could come with us today since they're going to the party, too. We're meeting up at the food court." He says.
I nod my head. "That's fine. I told Alyssa to meet us there, too."
I spot her sitting at the table we were sitting at last time we all came here together. I sit beside her and Jordan sits on my other side.
"Hey, Lyssa." I smile. She gives me a side hug and smiles.
"Jake is on his way. Apparently he's got a girlfriend who's a cheerleader." She says.
My mouth drops open. "When did this happen and why wasn't I informed?"
"Well, if you weren't so busy with your prince charming you would know. We need to have a day where you, Jake, and I hang out. Just us." She says.
"You know, Alyssa, I'm starting to think you don't like me." Jordan says.
"It's not that I don't like you, it's just you're taking my best friend away from me." She says.
"Again, it's not my fault she'd rather hang out with me than you. Jordan tends to have that affect on women." He smirks.
She rolls her eyes and I do the same. "Next weekend I'm all yours." I tell her.
She smiles, "Promise?"
"Promise." I tell her. She's right. I've been so busy with Jordan that I've forgotten about them. Before Jordan, things were easy and it was me begging them to spend time with me.
Everyone else gets here around the same time and we make our way toward the stores to get our Halloween outfits.
"So, Midget, I saw these pictures of couples dressed up as Bonnie and Clyde and it gave me some ideas of what we should do." Jordan says.
We enter a store selling Halloween costumes and start to look around. "We probably won't find our costumes in here, will we?" I ask.
"Nope. We'll have to buy regular clothes and do our best to look like them. I downloaded some pictures from google so that we will know what to look for." He says.
"You put a lot of thought into this, didn't you?" I smile.
"Well, if we're going to go as a couple who robbed and killed people than we're going to have to sell that shit." He smirks.
I roll my eyes and walk over to Alyssa and Jake. "Hey, Jordan and I are going to go to a different store to get our costumes. Meet up in about thirty minutes at the food court."
"Alright. I'll send you a picture of what costumes I decide on." She says.
I nod my head and leave the store with Jordan. We walk quietly to a store that sells pretty old clothes.
"I think we should start on your look first since it's the hardest. All I have to find is a really old suit and hat." He says.
"Okay. What does Bonnie wear?" I ask.
"Really, Midget? You don't know what Bonnie wears? Midget, you're going to have to watch the movie with me before the Halloween party. You need to act like Bonnie if I'm going to be your Clyde." He says, walking off to a section of the store.
I roll my eyes at how dramatic he's being. I get out my phone and type in Bonnie and Clyde look. I go to the images and immediately start looking for things that relate to what the Bonnie in this picture is wearing.
I find a black beret that I plan on wearing to go along with my outfit. I also find a black pencil skirt. All I need to find is a top and a few more accessories.
Jordan finds me a few minutes later with a bunch of stuff in his hands. "I found this tan shirt that looks like something Bonnie would wear. The sleeves go to the elbow so you might get a little warm, but the material is thin. Also, here's a blonde wig because your hair is too long and I doubt you would want to cut it for one night and here's a scarf." He hands over the things and I smile at him.
"You just completed my look. Now let's find yours." I say.
"No need. My stuff is already at the counter. I'm just waiting for you. I'm paying by the way." He says.
"No you are not. I'll pay for my own stuff." I say.
"Midget, come on. You let Stephen pay for everything when you two were together." He says.
"That was only like twice. The other times we split the bill. And that was food. This is different." I point out.
"Well, let me at least split the bill with you. I think I should pay for the whole thing because I came up with the idea and I asked you to go to the party." He says.
We stand there and argue for about five minutes. Jordan ends up winning the arguement and pays for my clothes and his. I pout the whole time going back to the food court.
"Don't be mad at me, Midg." He says, grabbing my arms.
I stop and turn to face him. "I'm more than capable of paying for my own stuff, Jordan."
"I know. I just feel like I have to compete with Stephen. I feel like I have to be a better boyfriend than he was." He says.
"Boyfriend?" I smirk.
He rolls his eyes. "You know what I mean." He says.
"You don't have to compete with Stephen. We're over. I don't think he would get back with me even if I asked him back out." I say.
He laughs, "Yeah, right. He'll take you back in a heart beat."
I roll my eyes at him and we continue to walk back to the food court. Everyone meets at our usual table and order pizza. We all just talk and catch up with each other about what's been going on lately.
"Abby, I think you should get back with Stephen. The guy is miserable without you." Ryan says.
Jordan is giving Ryan this murderous glare, but Ryan seems to be challenging him back. I wonder what's that about, but I decide to ignore them because I will never understand boys.
"Stephen hates me and things just weren't working out." I tell him.
"Because she wants my boy Jordan." Troy smirks, pounding his fist up against Jordan's fist.
"Whatever. Like I said things just weren't working out."
"Well, I'm going to head out guys. I have to be back here in thirty minutes to start my shift." Daniel says.
"I think we should all get going." Jake says.
I nod my head. "I agree. I have studying to do anyway."
"Alright, well the guys and I are just going to hang around for a few more minutes. I'll see you at school tomorrow." Jordan says.
I wave goodbye to him and the guys before walking out with Alyssa and Jake. We're quiet until we reach my car.
"I'm worried about you, Abby." Alyssa says, breaking the silence.
"We both are." Jake adds in. I stare at them both wondering why they're worried about me.
Jake sees my confused face expression and speaks up. "We just don't trust Jordan. You two have been spending a lot of time together and we're worried about you and what his intentions might be."
I stare at them, trying to keep my cool. "Guys, Jordan respects me. All we do is hang out. He hasn't even kissed me, yet. You don't have to worry about him having some alternative motive."
"I'm just saying, he never talked to you until senior year. I find it weird that he all of a sudden is interested in you." Alyssa says.
I take a step back. "So what you're saying is that I'm not good enough for someone like Jordan?" I ask, getting angry.
"Abby, you know that's not what I meant. We're just trying to look out for you that's all." She says.
I roll my eyes. "Just be happy for me. I'm finally at a point in my life where I feel important to someone other than you guys. Jordan won't hurt me."
Alyssa gives me a sympathetic look and so does Jake. "Just keep your guard up, Abby. I don't want to see you get hurt. You're our best friend." Jake says.
I hug them both. "You're my best friends, too. I appreciate the concern, but it isn't needed."
I pull away from them and smile before getting into my car. What's up with everybody today? I drive out of the parking lot and head for my house.
*****
Thursday and Friday went by fast. It's Saturday now and today is the Halloween party. Jordan said he would be coming over with a Bonnie and Clyde movie to watch so that I could get into character. He's taking this way too serious. I pop some popcorn and grab two sodas out of my fridge.
Their is a knock on the door before I hear it open. I immediately go into panic mode and grab a knife out of my kitchen draw. I round the corner holding my knife up, ready to attack. I scream and lunge forward.
"Midget, what the hell?" The person yells. I hadn't realized I closed my eyes until I open them to see Jordan holding my hand and looking at me like I've gone nuts.
"How did you get in my house?!" I yell at him, trying to calm myself back down.
"The spare key. You guys should I hide it in a better place. Why are you holding a knife trying to attack me?" He asks.
"Because I thought you were a burglar. You scared the daylights out of me." I say.
"Midget, most burglars go through a window and they don't knock. Also, they usually don't attack in broad daylight." He says.
"Sorry. It's a good thing you have good reflexes." I smile.
He gives me a serious look and takes the knife away from me. "Yeah, good thing. Let's get this movie started so that we will have enough time to get ready for the party."
I grabbed the popcorn out of the microwave and went into the living room along with Jordan. He started the movie and we sat there, watching it. It was a newer version, so it would be easier for us to go by. I had to admit, this was a good movie. When it ended, I stood up to stretch.
"So basically all I have to do is act like a sex crazed murderous bitch?" I ask.
"You should definitely act on the sex crazed part." Jordan winks.
I laugh and roll my eyes. I check the time and see that we should be getting ready. "We should get ready. You have to go back home and get ready so you will need a head start so you can come back and get me." I say.
"I brought my clothes with me. They're out in the car. You don't mind if I get ready here, do you?" A small smile creeps on his face.
"No. You can get ready in my room and I'll get ready in my parents room." I say.
"Alright. Let me go grab my clothes." He says.
He leaves out the door and I go upstairs to grab my stuff. I pass Jordan on my walk to my parents room and he smiles at me. Lately he smiles more than he smirks. I wonder if that's because of me. I turn on the shower and step in. I wash my body with my mom's strawberry body wash and then wash my hair with strawberry shampoo and conditioner. My mom loves strawberries. I turn the shower off and get out, wrapping a towel around me. I start to look through my clothes when I notice that I don't have my bra or panties with me. How could I forget? I mentally slap myself and try to gather up the courage to go in my room with only a towel covering me up. Maybe Jordan is still in the shower.
I walk out of my parents' room and walk upstairs to my room. When I get to my door, I hesitate to open it. I slowly turn the door knob. I slowly open the door and stick my head through. The shower is still running and the door to my bathroom is still closed.
I quickly walk in and open my dresser draw. I grab my bra and panties quickly. I turn around to see a smirking Jordan only wearing a towel around his waist to cover his lower half. His hair is dripping and his abs are wet. I'm openly staring at him, but I can't help it. It's like a Greek God is standing right in front of me.
"Did you want to shower with me, Midget?" He smirks.
"Um, no. I forgot to grab some things." I say, feeling out of breath.
He walks over to me and stands in front of me. He grabs my lace thong out of my hand and holds them up. Lately I've been wearing more stuff out of my forbidden draw.
"Is this what you forgot?" He asks. I nod my head not being able to talk anymore. We're both naked underneath these towels and we're standing so close to each other.
Lust is in his eyes and that does something to me. I just want to attack his lips right now.
"I would say I would love to see you in this, but I would probably just rip them off of you." He says, stepping closer.
Our bodies are touching now and I can feel Jordan Jr through my towel. He runs his fingers down my chest, stopping right above my towel. He began to tug at my towel and I don't want to stop him. I love the way I feel when he touches me. We hear a phone ring and I snap back into reality. I step back and grab my towel, holding it up.
"I should get dressed." I say, grabbing my bra and panties before leaving again. Before I left, I could tell he was frustrated with whoever interrupted us. I was a little upset myself, but we needed to stop. We needed to take things slow.
I go back downstairs and get dressed without anymore hot steamy moments with Jordan. When I come out, I have to go back upstairs to do my hair, meaning put on my wig.
I'm about to open my door when I hear Jordan talking. He must be on the phone with someone. I put my ear up to the door and try to hear the conversation.
"No. I'm not backing out. Since when do you care about someone's feelings. I have plenty of time to do this. It's not that easy. You're starting to act like Ryan. Her best friend has nothing to do with her. Just keep your mouth shut. I'll see you at the party. Bye." I hear him say.
I open the door and Jordan jumps a little. First time I've managed to really scare him. He looks guilty of something and I don't doubt it was because of that phone call.
"Who were you on the phone with?" I ask, walking over to my vanity table. I can see him through my mirror. He seems nervous.
"Just talking to Daniel." He says, trying to keep his cool.
"What were you two talking about? It sounded really weird. Something about not backing out. Best friends and stuff like that." I tie my hair up, before putting on my wig.
"You've caught me. Daniel wants me to get him and Alyssa together. He was starting to doubt I could do it so I told him I wasn't backing out." He explains.
"Ohh, it just sounded really suspicious." I say, starting on my makeup.
"Maybe you shouldn't eavesdrop." He smirks.
I playfully roll my eyes before putting on my makeup. When I'm done, I turn around and look at Jordan.
"How do I look?" I ask, standing up. His eyes become wide and he looks me up and down.
"Wow, Midget. You look better than any Bonnie I've ever seen." He says.
I blush, "We should get going. We're already late Clyde." I smile.
"Who's fault is that Bonnie." He says, putting on his hat. I put on mine as well and we both head out of my house to go to the party.
*****
When Jordan and I walk into the party, all eyes are on us. I'm the first girl he's ever come with to a Halloween party dressed in a couple costume. Jordan shrugs it off, but I can't help but shy away from all the attention.
Jordan pulls me to the side. "Remember, you're having fun tonight. My way. Don't worry about all these people staring. Just give them time to get drunk and then they'll stop staring."
"Okay. So what's the first thing we do on your definition of fun list?" I ask.
He smirks, "We grab a drink first. Since you're being all shy, we're going to need to get you some alcohol. You seem to not care so much when you have it in your system."
He starts to drag me towards the kitchen. "One drink. I don't want to get too drunk." I say.
He waves me off, but says okay. He hands me this red cup and I smell the stuff inside of it. It smells fruity. "It's cherry flavored." Jordan says, over the music.
I start to drink the liquid. I gulp it down quickly then ask for another. I drink about three of them before Jordan cuts me off. Man that stuff was good.
"Dance with me beautiful." Jordan whispers in my ear, sending chills down my body. The good ones though.
I nod my head and he pulls me to the make believe dance floor. The song is pretty upbeat, but I don't care if I look like a fish out of water right now. I want to dance. I turn around and start to rub my butt up against Jordan's crotch and lean my head on his shoulders. I wrap my arms around his neck to keep myself close to him. He groans in my ear and I can't help, but be turned on.
Jordan starts to kiss on my neck and I let out a moan of my own. Thank the Dj for playing the music loud. He rubs his hands up and down my body.
"You look so good tonight. I just want to rip your clothes off." He says in my ear.
I'm about to say okay when I see Stephen watching both Jordan and me. He looks hurt even more now. I turn around to face Jordan.
"I'm going to go use the bathroom." I yell over the music. He nods his head, but continues to dance.
I go down a hall, hoping to find a bathroom. Before I can turn the door knob to a door, someone grabs my arm turning me around. I'm about to scream until I recognize the face.
"Stephen. You scared me." I say. His eyes are red and I'm not sure if it's from being drunk, sleepy, or smoke. Hopefully the second.
He lets go of my arm. "What happened to your not breaking up with me because of Jordan. From what I just saw, it looks exactly like that." He slurs.
"Stephen you're drunk. Maybe you should go home." I say. I would offer to drive him home, but I'm a little buzzed myself.
"I miss you, Abby. Why can't we try and work things out. Just tell me what I can do to fix us." The look on his face breaks my heart and I can't help, but want to cry.
"Stephen, don't do this. We can't be together. You know that." I say.
"Just let me kiss you. One last time." He says, stepping closer.
"I don't think that's a good idea." I say, stepping back. I hit the wall behind me and Stephen is still coming closer.
He puts both of his hands on the wall, blocking me from escaping from the sides. I'm getting scared now. He's drunk and emotional.
He leans his face in and I push him away. "Stephen, I said no." I say. That doesn't stop him though. He grabs both of my wrists and put them up above my head.
"You'll kiss Jordan, but won't kiss me." He whispers. He starts to bring his face closer to mine.
"Stephen stop! This isn't you! You're drunk!" I yell.
His lips are about to touch mine when he's pulled back. I look to see an angry Jordan. He's about to punch Stephen when I grab him.
"Don't. Please don't. We need to get him home. He's not thinking straight tonight." I say.
"Midget, he was practically about to rape you. Who gives a shit about what happens to him." He says angrily.
"Please, Jordan. The only reason why he's acting like this is because of me. Please just help me?" I beg.
He thinks about it and when he sighs I know he's giving in. "I'll text one of the guys from the football team to take him home. He's not ruining our night." He says.
We wait until the person comes and gets Stephen before we go back to the kitchen to get something to drink. When I get there I spot Alyssa, Jake, Troy, Ryan, and Daniel. Alyssa is dressed as Dorthy. Jake is dressed as Spiderman. Troy as Superman. Ryan as a werewolf. Daniel as a vampire.
"Hey, guys. You all look great. Especially you Daniel. The girls will be dying for you to drink their blood tonight." I say.
He laughs, "I only want to drink one girl's blood tonight." He winks at Alyssa and she blushes.
"Abby, you look good as hell. Want to be my Bonnie for the rest of the night?" Troy smirks.
"Back off, Troy. She's mine. I'm sure you can find some skank in a way too tiny outfit." Jordan says.
A girl with a short skirt walks by and Troy's eyes light up. "I think I might have found my girl. I'll be right back." Troy says, following the girl.
"I heard they had a spin the bottle game started. You guys wanna go check it out?" Jake asks.
Everyone nods their head, but me. I don't really want to kiss a stranger. "Come on, Midg. My way, remember?" Jordan says.
I roll my eyes, but follow them to where the game is being held. We all join the circle on the floor. They have us sit beside different people to mix it up and I end up between two guys. The order is boy girl boy girl.
Some red headed guy spins the bottle and it lands on this blonde chick. She frowns, but he smiles. I can see why she frowned. The guy's teeth are yellow. She quickly gives him a quick peck before wiping her mouth repeatedly. Please don't let me land on him.
I look around the circle to see who's all playing and I see Virginia sitting down beside Jake and this other guy. She's giving me the stink eye and I can only imagine it's because of Jordan. She spends the bottle and it lands on me. ME?! What the hell? She smirks at me before crawling over to me. Alyssa's eyes are wide along with Jake and Jordan's eyes. She wouldn't really kiss me, would she? She hates me! I don't even swing for the other team.
She's in front of me with the same smirk for a few minutes ago. Her mouth comes to the shell of my ear. "This is how I kiss Jordan." She whispers.
Her lips touch mine. I didn't plan to open my mouth, but when she touched my breast I gasped which gave her access. Her tongue invaded my mouth and I didn't like it. She was a good kisser though and I could see why Jordan liked her so much. She pulls away from me and smirks before going back over to where she was seated.
I'm so pissed. She's kissed Jordan before and he's kissed her. I grab the guys drink that's next to me and gulp it down. It's really strong and it makes my eyes water. There is no way I'm a better kisser than her.
It's about eight people that go before me. By the time it does get to me, I'm feeling light on my feet. Or butt because I'm sitting down. Whatever that guy had in his drink was something strong. Hopefully it wasn't any drugs, but I'm starting to think it was.
I spin the bottle and it seems like it spins for ages. When it does stop, it lands on Jordan. He's smiling at me and I attempt to smile, but I probably look like a sad clown. I smirk at Virginia who looks pissed right about now. I slowly crawl over to Jordan. Wow, there's three of him. I'll go for the middle one. I get in front of him and smile. I feel on his face before I start to lean closer. He gives me a concerned look, but I keep leaning in. Right when I'm about to kiss him, I pass out.
