I opened my eyes, the light from my balcony doors blinding me. I tried to get up, but something was holding me down. I looked down at my waist to see an arm wrapped around me. He said he was going to stay on his side.
I turned around to face him and his hand ended up on my butt. I gasped. Even in his sleep he's a perv. I thumped him on the nose and his eyes opened suddenly.
He seemed confused as to where he was before a smile started to form on his face. "Good morning, Midget." He yawned.
How can someone look so perfect in the morning. His hair is messy, but it still looks good. What was I doing again? Right, his hand on my butt.
"Jordan, your hand is somewhere it doesn't need to be." I inform him.
His eyebrows knit together in confusion and then he squeezes my butt. I yelp and almost fall out of the bed. "Sorry, I don't know how my hand got there." He winks.
I push him and get out of bed. "Where did you park your car?" I ask, hoping he didn't leave it in my driveway.
"Don't worry. I parked it at Jake's house. I sent a text to him last night, letting him know. It's not my first time sneaking in a girl's...." He doesn't finish the sentence.
I laugh at him. "Jordan, you can talk to me about stuff like that. We're friends. I know you're not a virgin." I tell him.
He lets out a nervous laugh. "I just don't want to make you uncomfortable. Some girls don't like when you talk about other girls to them." He tells me.
"It's cool with me. Anyways, are you staying for breakfast?" I ask him.
"Um, I don't think your parents would like if I came downstairs and ate breakfast with you." He says.
"I know that idiot. Sneak out the way you came in and come over here with Jake. Say you spent the night with him." I say.
"When did you become so bad." He winks before putting his shirt back on.
I roll my eyes playfully. "I'll see you downstairs." I grab my phone and head downstairs.
I have two messages. One from Stephen and one from Jake.
From Boyfriend
Want to get some lunch today? On me.
To Boyfriend
Sure.
I send the message and then check the text from Jake.
From Jake
What's going on between you and Jordan. Is he staying at your house tonight?
He sent the message last night. I decide to let Jordan explain that to him when he gets to his house. I enter the kitchen and see my dad cooking as always, but my mom isn't here.
"Where's mom?" I ask, grabbing a plate out of the cabinet.
"She had to go in early for a photo shoot. She'll be back around lunchtime." He tells me.
I nod my head. "Jake should be here in a minute. He might be sleeping in." I tell my dad.
"It's okay. If he does come, just tell him where the food is. I have to get going. See you later on." He kisses me on the forehead before grabbing his keys and leaving.
Right when he left out of the front door, a knock came from the kitchen door. I got up and opened the door to find Jordan and Jake smiling at me.
"Are you guys okay? You're smiling like you've just won the lottery." I open the door wider and let them in.
Jake immediately goes over to the cabinet and begins to put food on his plate. He loves my dad's cooking. Jordan walks over to my plate and begins to eat. My eyes go wide and I rush over to my plate and pick it up.
"This is my plate!" I yell. He reaches for the plate again, but I raise it higher. He can easily stand up and get it, but I guess he wants me to think I'm in control right now.
"I already bit off the pancakes. You might as well give it to me unless you want to eat after of me and who knows where my mouth has been." He smirks.
I look at the plate like it has some type of disease and hand it back to him. Jake starts laughing along with Jordan. I sit down not being hungry anymore.
"Anyway, what's going on between you two?" Jake asks after he calms down from laughing.
"Nothing is going on. We're just friends. Last night he came over to the house to apologize and he spent the night because it was really late." I explained.
Jake nods his head. "So, is Stephen cool with you two being friends?" He asks.
"Who cares what he thinks. I've known Abby longer than he has." Jordan says.
I roll my eyes. "I'll tell him today when he picks me up for lunch. He'll understand. At least I think he will. He really doesn't like you." I say to Jordan.
He shrugs and then I get an idea. "You should apologize to him. Maybe he'll forgive you and we can all be friends." I smile.
"No offense, Abby, but you're dumb as hell if you think that's going to work. Stephen hates me. He won't accept my apology and who says I want to apologize to him." He says.
"Come on. Do it for me, please. I really want both of you in my life and if you two don't become friends, then I'll be forced to choose between you two." I tell him.
"She's right dude. If you two don't become friends, eventually he's going to make her choose between him and you." Jake cuts in.
"Fine, but if the guy throws a punch at me, I'm not going to hold back. I don't care if he's your boyfriend or not." Jordan said.
I grinned, happy that he agreed. Let's just hope this doesn't blow up in my face.
*****
I'm pacing around my living room, nervously. Stephen just called and told me he was on the way. Jordan is sitting on the couch, watching Family Guy. Jake is sitting next to him. I told Jake to stay just in case they get in a fight.
"Will you sit down? You're acting like we're about to make a drug deal or something." Jordan says.
"I can't help it. My boyfriend and friend hate each other and I'm about to attempt to make you guys become friends again. Oh yeah, that's nothing to be nervous about." I say sarcastically.
He rolls his eyes and goes back to watching TV. The doorbell rings and I stop pacing. I look over to Jordan and Jake and they both point towards the door.
I walk over to the front door and open it. Stephen smiles at me and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses me. My lips automatically start to move with his even though he caught me by surprise.
"Can you guys not do that in front of me?" I hear Jordan say.
Stephen stops kissing me and looks behind me. He looks confused at first and then he looks mad. "Why is he here?" He looks at me.
"I can explain. Will you come in so that we can talk?" I ask him.
He doesn't reply to my question, but he comes in, keeping his eyes on Jordan. Jordan scoffs before walking back into the living room. I sit on the couch with Stephen and Jake. Jordan sits in the armchair beside the couch.
"Okay, Jordan is here because him and I have decided to be friends, but I know how much you dislike him. I know that you don't want me hanging around him so I think maybe you two should become friends." I say.
He looks at me for a moment before he bursts out laughing. Like a real laugh. I look at Jake, who is just as confused as me and then I look at Jordan who simply shrugs.
"Wow, Abby, that was a good one. Now come on. Let's go. I'm starving." He wipes under his eyes and stands up.
"Stephen, it wasn't a joke. I'm serious. I don't want to have to choose between you two. I care about both of you." I tell him.
His eyebrows knit together. "Abby, I told you about what he did to me. How could you still want to be friends with him?" I can tell he's getting mad.
"Because, I see the good in people. He told me something that helped me understand him a little better and Troy is the one you should really be mad at." I say.
"Are you serious right now? There's no good in him. He's just lying to you. Don't trust him." He yells.
I flinch a little. "You don't know him like I do. I thought the same thing at first, but he really wants to make things right with you. He wouldn't be here if he didn't." I say.
Stephen turns to Jordan. "What the hell are you up to? Huh, what games are you playing? I don't buy that you want my forgiveness crap." He steps closer to Jordan.
Jake gets up and grabs Stephen's arm. "Stephen, cool it man. Just listen for a second. He has good intentions." Jake says.
Stephen looks at him and nods his head slowly. Jordan stands up and walks over to Stephen, but keeps some distance between them.
"Listen, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about what Troy did and I'm sorry for not telling you. It was messed up of us not to tell you, but Troy is like our brother. We're always going to look out for him and if it was the other way around, we'd do the same for you. You don't have to trust me or be my friend again, but let's do this for Abby. She deserves it." Jordan says.
Stephen looks from Jordan to me then back to Jordan. I can tell he's thinking about it. He turns away from Jordan and looks at me.
"I don't care if you two hang out, but I don't want anything to do with him. I'll be in the car when you decide to join me." Stephen passes me and leaves out the front door.
"Well, that went well." Jordan laughs. I stare at him. "Seriously?" I ask.
He holds his hands up. "What? Don't take it so serious. He said he's cool with us hanging out. Isn't that what you wanted?" He asks.
"Yeah, but I also wanted you two to make up. He doesn't want anything to do with you." I say.
"That's okay with me. Abby, it's our problem. Not yours. It's not your job to fix things between us because things can't be fixed. We broke his trust and I understand if he doesn't want to be friends again." He says.
I sigh. "Okay. Well, I'm about to leave. Let yourselves out." I wave goodbye to them before leaving out the front door.
I get in the car with Stephen and I can tell he's still mad. I put my hand on his arm and he looks at me. "Do you like him?" He says suddenly.
"What?" I whisper. I'm shocked that he even asked me that.
"You heard me Abby. If you like him, let me know now because I refuse to have another incident like what happened with Chloe, Troy, and I." He says.
He has trust issues and I'm not helping that either. I shouldn't have even forced him to talk to Jordan. Now he thinks I like Jordan.
I grab his face and smash my lips to his. In any other case, I would not be the one starting the kiss, but I have to let him know that I'm his and not Jordan's.
I pull away and look into his eyes. "I only want you Stephen. You're the guy I want to be with. Not Jordan. I promise I only want you." I say.
He starts to smile and then I start to smile. "If accusing you of liking other guys is going to make you kiss me like that then I should do it more often." He smiles.
I laugh. "Whatever. Just take me to get some lunch because I'm starving." I say.
He starts the car up and we take off. "I finally chose the car I wanted. I decided on a Nissan Maxima." I tell him.
"So no more riding with me in the mornings?" He pokes his bottom lip out and pouts.
I laugh a little. "Maybe we can take turns. You pick me up one morning and then I'll pick you up the next morning." I suggest.
His face scrunches up. "No way. You picking me up for school just doesn't seem manly." He says.
I punch him playfully. "Well, suck it up because if you want me to ride with you, you're going to have to ride with me." I smirk.
He sighs. "Fine, but on the days I ride with you, you're going to have to stay after school and wait for me to get out of practice." He says.
I nod my head. "That's okay. Watching sweaty guys hit each other. I'm totally fine with that." I smile.
He starts to tickle me. "The only sweaty guy you better be watching is me." He says, tickling me like there's no tomorrow.
I'm laughing so hard that I start to cry. "Okay. Okay." I say in between laughters.
He stops tickling me and smiles at me before returning his eyes back to the road. "We could have wrecked, you know." I laugh.
"I'm a skilled driver, baby." He winks. It's something about the way he said baby that makes me smile from ear to ear. Stephen makes me happy and I really wish I would have met him before this year.
He parks the car and we walk to a restaurant that sells good sandwiches, according to Stephen. We walk hand in hand in the restaurant. It's a lot of people in here and I'm not sure we'll get a seat.
The woman at the front tells us we're lucky because she has one booth left for us. We get seated and handed our menus. We order our usual Sprite and both look over the menu.
"I'm going to get the roast beef sandwich. What about you?" Stephen asks.
"Um, I think I'm going to try the Monte Cristo. It sounds like it would be pretty good and looks like it too." I tell him.
He nods his head. "Maybe our date won't be interrupted like last time." He smiles.
"This is a date?" I smirk. He's about to reply, but the waiter comes back. We tell him our order and then he's off to go get our food.
"To answer your question, every time I take you out it's a date." He winks.
I roll my eyes playfully and sip some of my Sprite. Ed sheeran's Photograph starts to play and I start to rock my head back and forth.
"You like this song?" Stephen asks.
I nod my head. "Yeah. I really like Ed Sheeran's music. His songs have meaning to them." I say.
He nods his head. "So you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans holding me closer til our eyes meet you won't ever be alone wait for me to come home." He sings, horribly might I add.
I start to laugh, but I think it's sweet. People are staring at him so I decide I won't let him make a fool out of himself alone.
"Loving can heal. Loving can mend your soul and it's the only thing that I know. I swear it will get easier remember that with every piece of ya and it's the only thing we take with us when we die." I start to sing.
That part of the song makes me feel like I'm promising him I will heal his broken heart. I think he feels that way too.
He smiles at me and takes my hand in his. "We keep this love in this photograph. We made these memories for ourselves. Where our eyes are never closing our hearts were never broken times forever frozen still." We sang together.
Stephen gets out his phone and snaps a picture of me. Then he comes around the booth and gets in with me. We take about five pictures together before he returns back to his side.
He's looking at the pictures and he looks like he adores something. Could that something be me?
"You are so beautiful." He looks up from his phone and smiles. I smile back and blush.
Our food finally arrives and we dig in. "Oh my goodness. Why hasn't anyone ever taken me here before." I say with food in my mouth. Yeah, total turn on Abby.
He chuckles at me. "Will you hand me a napkin?" I ask while laughing with him.
He grabs my hand, "I got it." He starts to lick my fingers and my breath hitches in my throat. I'm staring wide eyed at him and thinking to myself how this is a total turn on.
He hands me my hand back to me and smirks. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around what he just did. I'm flustered and turned on now.
He starts to laugh at my reaction and I start to blush. I grab some fries and throw them at him. Which only makes him laugh harder.
"That's not fair. You can't do something sexy like that then expect me not to react like I did." I say.
"I'm sorry, but I think your reaction was cute. It's nice to know that I have an affect on you." He smiles.
I roll my eyes and bite into my sandwich. After we finish our food we order dessert. We both order apple pie because he says it's the best thing ever made known to man.
When I do try it, I can't help but agree with him. There's vanilla ice cream dripping from the apple pie and the taste put together just sends your taste bugs over the edge.
After we're done eating like pigs, he pays the bill. He wouldn't even let me take out my money in my pocket. He paid for the whole meal. We walked out hand in hand.
When we got into the car, we started making out. I don't know why, but we did. I was falling for Stephen, no doubt about it. Everything about him screamed perfect.
We finally pulled apart and he heads back to my house. On the way back we make small talk and he holds my hand the whole time.
We're in front of my house now. "Do you want to come in for a bit?" I ask.
"Are your parents home? I don't want to come in if your parents don't allow you have to people over while they're not home." He says.
"Well, they don't really care if I have friends over when they're not home. I don't really know about boyfriends." I say.
He smiles. "It's okay. I enjoyed the time I spent with you. Maybe I can come in when you're parents are here?" He asks.
I nod my head. "Of course." He places his hand on the back of my neck and brings my lips to his. He kisses me slowly, but passionate.
"I'll call you later on, beautiful." He pecks my lips one last time before he lets me go.
I wave goodbye to him before I enter the house. "So how was your date with lover boy?" I jump from being scared.
I turn around to see Jordan standing there with an apple in his hand. He's eating the apple in a very sexy way. Hush, Abby. I scold myself for thinking of him in that way.
"Why are you still here? Where's Jake?" I ask.
"I wanted to hang out with you today so I decided to wait on you. Jake had Alyssa pick him up about an hour ago." He says.
I walk into the living room and plop down on the couch. "You could have texted me giving me a heads up that you were still at my house." I say.
He sits down next to me. "Well, if you weren't so busy sucking Stephen's face off you would have seen my car still at Jake's house." He fires back.
"Whatever. I was not sucking Stephen's face off." I deny even though I clearly was about five minutes ago.
"Yeah right. How about you and I have a Netflix type day. We can watch movies all day then order pizza when you get hungry again." He suggests.
"Sure, but my dad usually cooks when he gets home. My mom should be here any minute now. The photo shoot must be running over." I say looking at the time on my phone.
"You think your mom can get me in one of those swim suit magazines?" Jordan asks.
I stare at him. "You are so random and weird." I laugh.
"Aw, that's what you love about me besides my good looks." He winks.
"Whatever. Pick out a movie while I go get us some sodas." I say before getting up and going into the kitchen.
We spend the whole day watching movies. Jordan stays for dinner and then a little bit after. When he leaves, it's about eleven o'clock. I love hanging around Jordan. It's like I'm another person whenever I'm around him. He helps me to let go and be free and I like being free.
