The summer holiday seemed to end as quickly as it had begun. Seonghwa, now back in the familiar halls of his school, found himself reminiscing about the moments spent in Busan. The beach, the laughter, and most of all, the brief yet unforgettable encounter with Hongjoong.
Seonghwa walked into the school, greeted by the familiar faces of his friends, Wooyoung, Yeosang, and Yunho.
"Hey, how was your summer?" Yunho asked, slinging an arm around Seonghwa's shoulders.
"It was great," Seonghwa replied, smiling. "Spent a lot of time with my parents and made some new friends."
"New friends, huh?" Wooyoung teased. "Anyone special?"
Seonghwa felt his cheeks heat up but quickly shook his head. "Just a nice group of people I met at the beach."
As they made their way to their first class, Seonghwa's thoughts drifted back to Hongjoong. He hadn't been able to get the boy out of his mind. The way Hongjoong's smile lit up his face, the brief touch of their fingersâit all played on a loop in Seonghwa's head.
In another part of the school, Hongjoong walked in with his friends, Mingi, San, and Jongho. They were laughing and joking, making the start of the school year seem a little less daunting.
"Back to reality," San groaned. "Why can't summer last forever?"
"Because then we'd never graduate," Jongho replied, ever the practical one.
Hongjoong smiled, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling school. He had enjoyed his summer break immensely, but there was something comforting about being back.
As Seonghwa walked down the hall to his next class, he froze. There, standing by the lockers, was Hongjoong. For a moment, Seonghwa couldn't believe his eyes. It was as if fate had brought them together once more. His heart pounded in his chest, and he quickly ducked behind a corner, watching Hongjoong from a distance.
"What's up with you?" Yeosang asked, noticing Seonghwa's odd behavior.
"It's him," Seonghwa whispered, pointing subtly. "The guy I met in Busan. He's here.
Yeosang followed Seonghwa's gaze and saw Hongjoong. "Wow, small world. Are you going to talk to him?"
Seonghwa shook his head furiously. "I can't. What if he doesn't remember me?"
"Then remind him," Yeosang encouraged. "You have nothing to lose."
Soon they were in the classroom and seonghwa couldn't stop but continue to think about Hongjoong over she over again no matter how hard he tried. He poked the table wood with the pen in his hand and stared a a sheet of part in front of him. He eyed it quietly. He couldn't just approch him and tell him he liked him.
Instead, he decided on a different approach. He continued to stare at the sheet of paper in front of him. The pen in hand, and grabbed the paper and began to write down something with concentration not noticing the bell ring as he folded the paper on his hands standing up and walking out of the class with his friends.
