The school was alive with the usual hustle and bustle, students navigating their way through crowded hallways and bustling classrooms. The air was filled with laughter, chatter, and the occasional rush to avoid being late to class. For Seonghwa, each day brought a new wave of emotions and anticipation, especially when it came to writing his letters to Hongjoong.

One afternoon, Seonghwa found himself in the school library, a sanctuary of quiet amidst the chaos. He loved the serenity of the place, the way the sunlight filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow on the rows of books. But today, the library held a different kind of allure – Hongjoong was there.

Seonghwa watched from a distance as Hongjoong sat at a table, surrounded by books and notes. His brow was furrowed in concentration, and he occasionally bit his lip as he worked. It was a sight that Seonghwa found both endearing and mesmerizing. He couldn't help but wonder what thoughts and ideas were swirling in Hongjoong's mind.

With a deep breath, Seonghwa tore his gaze away and focused on the letter he was writing.

---

Dear Hongjoong,

Today, I watched you in the library. You were so focused on your work, lost in thought. It was a beautiful sight. I couldn't help but wonder what goes on in that brilliant mind of yours.

I'm trying to muster up the courage to speak to you in person. It's hard, though. You're so amazing, and I feel so ordinary in comparison. But maybe, just maybe, I'll find the strength soon.

With admiration,

Your Secret Admirer

---

Seonghwa folded the letter and slipped it into an envelope. He knew he had to be careful; the library was a quiet place, and any sudden movement could easily attract attention. As he approached Hongjoong's bag, which was casually placed on a nearby chair, he took a deep breath and slipped the letter into a side pocket.

Just as he was about to step away, he heard a familiar voice. "Seonghwa! What are you doing here?"

Seonghwa's heart leapt into his throat as he turned to see Wooyoung, Yeosang, and Yunho entering the library. Wooyoung's loud greeting had already drawn a few disapproving glances from the librarian.

"Shh, keep it down," Seonghwa whispered urgently, glancing nervously towards Hongjoong, who thankfully seemed engrossed in his work.

Yeosang raised an eyebrow, noticing Seonghwa's tense expression. "Are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost."

Seonghwa forced a smile. "Yeah, just... startled me, that's all."

Yunho grinned, seemingly oblivious to the tension. "We were just looking for you. We're thinking of grabbing a snack. Want to join us?"

Seonghwa hesitated, his eyes flicking back to Hongjoong. "Sure, just give me a minute. I need to finish something up here."

As his friends moved away, Seonghwa let out a sigh of relief. He was about to leave the library when he noticed Hongjoong standing up and stretching, clearly taking a break from his studies. In a split second, their eyes met.

For a brief moment, Seonghwa froze. Hongjoong's gaze was curious but not unkind. Seonghwa mustered a small, awkward smile before quickly turning and walking out of the library, his heart pounding in his chest.

---

Outside, Seonghwa caught up with his friends, who were already discussing their plans with enthusiasm. "So, what's up?" Wooyoung asked, nudging Seonghwa playfully. "You seemed pretty focused back there."

Seonghwa shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Just had some stuff to finish up."

Yunho gave him a knowing look. "Does this 'stuff' have anything to do with a certain someone we know?"

Before Seonghwa could respond, the school bell rang, signaling the end of lunch break. The hallways erupted into chaos as students hurried to their next classes. In the midst of the commotion, Seonghwa felt a strange mix of exhilaration and dread. The thrill of almost being caught, combined with the joy of seeing Hongjoong, made his heart race.

As they made their way to class, Wooyoung turned to Seonghwa with a grin. "You know, one of these days, you're going to have to tell us who this mysterious crush of yours is."

Seonghwa laughed, though his mind was already drifting back to Hongjoong and the library. "Maybe," he said, leaving his friends to speculate.

---

After school, Seonghwa couldn't shake the memory of Hongjoong's eyes meeting his. The way Hongjoong had looked at him, even for that brief moment, had left a lasting impression. He wondered if Hongjoong had any inkling about the letters or if he was still in the dark.

Meanwhile, Hongjoong walked home with his friends, the letter from his secret admirer safely tucked in his bag. As they chatted about their day, he found himself replaying the encounter in the library. There was something about the boy he had seen, something familiar.

"Hey, Hongjoong," San said, breaking into his thoughts. "What's on your mind? You seem a bit distracted."

Hongjoong smiled, shaking his head. "Just thinking about something. Or someone."

Mingi raised an eyebrow. "Someone, huh? Do tell."

Hongjoong chuckled, deciding to keep his thoughts to himself for now. "Maybe later. Let's get home first."

As the sun set and the school grounds emptied, the mystery of the secret admirer continued to weave its way through their lives, promising more twists and turns in the days to come. And Seonghwa, with his heart full of hope and fear, knew that the time to reveal his feelings was drawing nearer with each passing day.
