Chapter 18 of 27

Keep This To Myself

A Whisper Came Through118 words~1 min read

Sealed with a kiss,

My pining is confirmed to be favored.

The fear will never dissipate

In my lifetime,

But it can be coddled by you,

Nurtured by your hands and laughter.

Until one day, the bedroom in my heart

Burns down, along with all

My molded memorabilia.

I can hardly look you in the eyes,

Out of fear I will find something tangible.

But the likeness in you sees the likeness in me.

We walked the same halls,

Sat in the same rooms.

Now we hear the same noise,

And taste the same smoke.

It's naive to say it now, so I will keep it to myself.

But the lover in me sees

Everything, everything, everything.
