Ruan Xia and Song Tingshen had been married for four years, but they had never gone on a date, much less watch a movie together.
Song Tingshen didnât spend much time on entertainment activities to begin with. Every day, after he finished work for the day, he would go straight home to spend time with his son. He even rarely attended social business gatherings. Still, he had taken Little Wang out several times to see childrenâs movies.
The three of them were full from dinner, so they werenât interested in the ice cream, soda, and popcorn that was being sold in the theater. Mother Ruan had of course purchased tickets for a movie that was suitable for children to watch. The theater they were seated in was pretty much filled with adults bringing their children to watch a movie.
Little Wang felt as if the past period was like a dream. He was seated between his mom and dad. He pursed his lips and suddenly realized he wasnât envious of the other kids at all.
He also had parents that would watch a movie with him!
Ruan Xia had originally though she wouldnât be interested in this movie, but the Disney-produced movie exceeded her expectations. Although it was a cartoon movie, the plot was pretty good and adults wouldnât find it disagreeable. No wonder this movie had high ratings on Weibo.
After the movie was over, as they walked out of the movie theater, Little Wang was still immersed in the movie. Holding Ruan Xiaâs hand, he discussed the movieâs plot with her, âMom, the family of tigers sleep together at night...â
As soon as he said these words, Ruan Xia had an ominous premonition.
Little Wang doubtfully asked, âWhy doesnât dad and mom sleep together? Grandpa and grandma sleep in the same bed.â
This child finally realized there was something wrong with his parentsâ relationship.
In peopleâs traditional consciousness, it was only normal for a husband and wife to sleep together. Even if a married couple was going to sleep in separate beds, it normally wouldnât happen until they were in their 70âs or 80âs.
Ruan Xia didnât know how to answer this question, neither did Song Tingshen.
Could she directly say that dad and mom were only a married couple in name and they had no feelings for each other?
That didnât seem right to say.
Ruan Xia was a master deceiver, and she quickly came up with a good excuse. âItâs because mom is used to sleeping late and doesnât wake up until Uncle Sun is high up in the sky. Dad is worried about waking mom up in the morning, so he sleeps with you instead.â After thinking it over, she added, âSo, Little Wang, you should learn to be considerate like dad. Because you wake mom up every morning, mom has dark circles under her eyes!â
Little Wang was only a young child. It was easy to fool him. He pointed at himself. âItâs because I wake mom up? Thatâs why mom doesnât like to sleep with me?â
Ruan Xia stroked her chin. âThat reasoning works too.â
She didnât plan on lying to the child more than necessary. After all, he really was messing up her sleeping schedule.
Fortunately, she wasnât too grumpy when someone woke her up.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Song Tingshen had raised Little Wang very well. At the very least, Little Wang seriously considered this problem.
After they had gotten into the car, he sincerely apologized to his mom, âMom, itâs all my fault. I wonât wake you up in the morning anymore. But, can I still sleep with you? Mom smells so nice.â
Since he was meeting her halfway, there was no reason for Ruan Xia to refuse the childâs desire to be close to her. âOkay, but you have to keep your word.â
âOkay!â
