the pink lotion from the bathroom, I couldnât help but smile.
I enjoyed taking a shower with Jatix.
He was getting dressed in his room, and I finally felt like I had some privacy. The ache between my legs increased as I blow-dried my hair, thinking about what happened in the shower. Jatix mentioned going downstairs for dinner, so I wanted to look presentable.
I still wasnât sure what to feel about all of this.
This was officially the pack that I was sold to.
I felt self-conscious as I sifted through the outfits in the closet. I wanted something elegant to wear tonight. Three alphas and one delta would be watching my every move tonight. I had always wanted to be in a pack who adored me. I just never thought it would ever be in the cards for me. Every time an omega gave birth at Howlâs Honor Hospital, I would be starkly reminded of what I was missing. But sometimes, Iâd see a pack that wasnât so nice to their omega, and I would feel bad for the omega.
In this case, I wasnât sure if the pack would like me.
I didnât understand how I had kissed Jatix already, but he was an insistent alpha who never took no for an answer.
Even though Jatix was pretty weird, I started falling for him. The shower kiss was epic, and it left me panting for more. Or maybe I was being naïve. My omega instincts to let her alpha dominate was coming out.
I looked in the tall mirror next to the nest they had put together for me. I wore a thin white summer dress that wasnât too fancy for a simple dinner. It was strapless, and the dress stopped right above my knees. I hoped it didnât look too slutty. I spent forever in this closet trying to pick something out to wear. Iâm sure they wouldnât care what I wore as long as I was naked. I needed to stop freaking out.
I looked over at the nest in the corner, and I hesitantly made my way to it.
Pulling the curtain aside, I put my hand to my mouth as I softly gasped again as I gazed at how cute it was. I stepped in and stood on the bed in my bare feet. The mattress was so squishy and soft under my feet. Nothing like the thin paper I slept on at home. I slowly lowered myself and sat on the mattress. It felt like clouds under my body. I used to have a normal bed before Mom died. After she died, my dad frantically threw away anything that made me cozy. I never understood why.
âOh my god,â I exclaimed as I lay on it. Then, slowly getting more and more comfortable, my eyes started to close. The pink blankets were absolutely divine and scrumptious. Pulling it around me, I hugged the blankets tight to my body, scenting them with my perfume.
I lay there, absorbing the softness of it all.
âFind her Darius. Tell Keera itâs dinner time,â said Jatix as he set down the plates. I could tell he had a fantastic time in the shower, judging from the look of contentment on his face.
I wanted that.
I was jealous. That was for fucking sure.
âYeah,â I said, lifting my ass from the couch. It had been a long day in the sun this morning at the auction, and I was about ready to pass out. A flutter of excitement hit my belly as I walked up the stairs. Even though I disliked omegas, I couldnât squash the hope that went through me. I swiped my hand through my hair as I stood outside her door. I couldnât hear anything inside.
I knocked softly.
No answer.
I knew this would fucking happen.
I quickly turned the doorknob and burst into the room like a wild beast with piercings. I was about to shout her name until I saw her body curled up in the nest. I could see her body through the sheer pink curtains.
She was sleeping in the nest we made.
I felt like a fool bursting in there and suddenly felt terrible if I had woken her. I walked as quietly as possible towards her nest and pulled the curtain back. My heart softened as I gazed at her sleeping face. She was all bundled up in the blankets that we all had carefully picked out for her.
And it warmed my heart to see that.
She looked so cute, and I only wanted to lay next to her. Hug her and absorb her orangey scent.
I knelt next to her and stared into her face before I had to wake her up for dinner. Upon closer inspection, her face looked troubled. Her eyelids with shuddering, and tears were pouring down her cheeks.
Panicking, I quickly tried to wake her up by shaking her shoulder.
âWake up, Keera, itâs dinner time,â I mumbled.
Her eyes shot open, and they were red. She looked at me, horrified, and my heart sank. Omegas didnât like deltas. That was a fact of life. They only loved alphas. But then she was blubbering something, still staring at me, her eyes unmoving. She began screaming and I realized she was still in a dream world.
âNo, get away!â she screamed, punching an invisible person in front of her. Her eyes were still glazed over.
âKeera, wake up,â I said more firmly, shaking her arm. When she finally came to, she was breathing hard and looked at me with new eyes.
âOh, Darius,â she gasped. âIâm sorry. I had a nightmare.â
I was relieved she didnât hate me as she scooted over to me and laid her head against my chest. My heart ached for her as I protectively wrapped my arms around her, sitting in her nest. What in the world had she gone through? Was she dreaming about her father? I was gonna kill that bastard.
I rumbled deep in my chest to soothe her. To calm her racing heart and she leaned into me for strength, wrapping her arms around my waist. Her tears soaked through my white shirt, but I didnât give a fuck about my shirt getting wet.
This little omega was going through something that I didnât know. My alpha vibrations were soothing her at least. She stopped crying, and her breathing returned to normal. Her omega scent was no longer laced with stark fear.
âWhat were you dreaming about?â I asked slowly.
âI canât talk about it,â she whimpered. âI think Iâm too damaged to be here.â
âNo one can be more damaged than Jatix,â I said, trying to comfort her.
She curiously pulled away to look at me. I wiped her tears with the pad of my thumb.
âWhy? What happened to him?â she asked.
âHe was born to a psycho alpha mother. She didnât want a child with white hair, so she made his life a living hell,â I explained. âIâll let Jatix tell you the specifics, but Iâll leave it at that for now.â
Alpha females were notorious for being tough and not so very nurturing. They were the no-nonsense type.
âPoor Jatix,â she said, her brows furrowed in worry.
âEveryone has a dark past somewhere,â I said.
âWhatâs yours?â
âWell, for one, omegas never liked me,â I admitted. âBack in college, an omega girl pretended to like me to the amusement of her friends. The day she broke my heart was the worst. Ever since then, I stayed far away from omegas.â
âI would never do that to you,â said Keera in earnest, her scent rising.
My mouth quirked up in a smile.
âWeâll see. I came up here to call you for dinner.â
âOh,â she exclaimed, slapping her forehead. âIâm sorry I fell asleep.â
âItâs okay,â I said, hearing her stomach growl.
, she was cute. She was going to be my weak spot, I was sure of it. If anyone ever hurt her, so help me god. And if I saw her father again, he wouldnât live another day. After what I had seen at the auction today, he wasnât one of the good guys. He was one of the guys that I would hunt down in the streets to kill. âAre you ready to meet the other guys?â
âYes,â she said eagerly, a wide smile on her face.
