chapter three

Alex barged into the Salvatore house with a scowl on her face. Damon called her saying that Rebekah had decided to stay at their house since Klaus left her in Mystic Falls. she didn't understand why Rebekah didn't just come to her apartment, but Alex guesses she didn't know where it was. Alex was angry only because Damon woke her up and the heretic hated to be woken up.
"where is she?"
Damon greets her with a sarcastic smile, "it's great to see you too, long lost best friend. how have you been in these last 145 years?"
her eyes softened, "what I did was for the best, Damon. I need you to understand that"
Damon crosses his arms over his chest, "you died, Alex. Stefan watched you desiccate as the wooden bullet pierced your heart. we mourned you for years. how is that for the best?" he continued to press her, "were you just like Katherine and it all meant nothing to you? were you just using him like she did me?"
Alex vamp speeds over to Damn and stands right in front of his face to where she could feel his breath on her, "of course he meant something to me, Damon! I loved him! I think about him every single day. hell, i even checked up on the both of you from time to time. i had to make sure that you both were okay"
Damon's face hardened, "why didn't you talk to me at least? why didn't you tell me that you were alive? that you couldn't be killed?"
Alex steps back and takes a deep breath, "I didn't know I could until I woke up the next morning. alive, and on the run from my brother... Damon, if Klaus had known about you two he would've killed you. I couldn't let that happen"
Damon sighs. he knew that she was telling the truth. they both had the same sarcastic and reckless personality, but you can feel the sincerity dripping from her voice when she's serious.
"I just wish you could've told me sooner. when Katherine came back and you weren't there, I gave up on believing there was hope. we both did"
"I'm sorry"
Damon nods, not wanting to continue the conversation. he was angry that the girl he called his best friend chose her screwed up family that manipulated her over the two Salvatore's who would do anything for her. he walks into the living room, "Rebekah is upstairs" he says with his back turned to Alex. the heretic speeds up to Rebekah without another word.

"welcome back, seniors. let's turn out brains back on, starting with this country's original founders. the Native Americans" Alaric says starting off the class when Rebekah and Alex walk in.
"what about the Vikings?" Rebekah asks walking in and sitting down in the front row with Alex
"there no evidence that the Viking explorers actually settled in the United States. who are you?" he looks at the two confused. Caroline and Elena had shocked expressions on their face, Stefan just rolled his eyes, and all Tyler was focused on was Alex.
"I'm Rebekah and this is my sister, Alex. we're new and history is our favorite subject" Alaric nodded slowly and continued on with his lesson.
after all of her classes, Alex walked onto the football field and walked over to where the cheerleaders were stretching.
"has anybody seen Dana?" one of the girls asks. Alex smirked remembering that she fed on that girl after the prank night.
Alex walks up with a sly smirk, "sounds like you have an opening on the squad"
Caroline glared at her, "what are you doing here? you can't just come here and infiltrate all of our lives"
Alex smirked, "i'm only interested in yours. your spunk, your popularity.." she trails off and looks over at the main field where Tyler was practicing, biting her lip, "maybe even your boyfriend" she flashed a smile and walked away. the cheerleaders were doing tricks and now it was Alex's turn.
"hey, check out the new girl!" one of the football players yells and Caroline and Tyler look in that direction
"come on Alex, you got this!" one of the cheerleaders shouts.
Alex does a front ariel then a front handspring and lands it with a left leg split. everyone cheers for her and she looks at Tyler and winks
"damn. girl's got some moves" Tyler says smirking. he looks at his girlfriend then walks away.

at the bonfire the 'supernatural scooby doo gang', as Alex likes to call them, was in Alaric's classroom plotting a way to capture no humanity Stefan. Alex decided to join the plan, seeing as she wanted nothing to do with Klaus at the moment and she wanted Stefan back just as much as the others.
"i'll lure Stefan away from the fire. when he's distracted Alaric will shoot him" Elena says summarizing the plan
"can't Bonnie or Alex just Juju him?" Damon asks.
"i'm trying to keep Bonnie out of this. i don't believe that Stefan won't hurt her. and same goes for Alex. Caroline, are you covered?" Damon inaudibly scoffed at the comment on Alex. he knew better than anyone in the room that Stefan wouldn't dare hurt that girl no matter what version of him he was. and even if he did, she could protect herself perfectly well.
Caroline nods, "yes, I will make sure the old Forbes jail cell is prepped and ready"
Damon speaks up again, "you're forgetting a key player here. Rebekah. wherever Stefan goes, a blonde ponytail tends to follow"
"it's your job to keep her away"
"how? she's an Original. last time i checked, we're out of daggers"
"so then preoccupy her with your charm" Elena shrugs
"might have better luck finding a dagger" Alaric says causing Caroline to laugh.
"you ever not gonna be mad at me Ric?"
"doubtful"
just then Tyler and Alex walk in, "sorry we're late. what's going on?"
"we need you to raid your mom's vervain supply. enough to keep Stefan down for a while" Elena says towards the werwolf.
Tyler shake his head, "you can't do that to Stefan"
"why not? trust me Tyler, it's in his best interest" Caroline says confused.
"but it's not in Klaus'" everyone looks at him shocked except for Alex who rolls her eyes. she figured this would happen.
Caroline gives her boyfriend a look, "but Klaus is the bad guy, Tyler. why are you acting like some freaky hybrid slave-minion?" she asks raising her voice causing Damon to stand up.
"uh-oh"
"what?" Alaric says towards Damon
Tyler glared at his girlfriend, "Klaus made me who i am, Caroline. i owe him everything"
"of course" Damon scoffs causing Caroline to turn around.
"okay, can we cool it on the commentary, please?" she asks.
"what is going on?" Elena asks confused. Damon picks up a vervain shot. Alex knew this would happen, it's the reason she brought Tyler with her. she knew that he would try and stop then from get Stefan because of Klaus.
"i'm just gonna go" Tyler says slowly and walks away but Alex holds him back and Damon shoots the vervain into Tyler's neck.
"what are you doing?" Caroline yells walking over to her boyfriend.
"he's been sired" Damon says
"what?" Elena and Alaric say at the same time.
"sired. he feels loyal to Klaus because Klaus' blood created him" Alex sighs brushing her hair out of her face.
"loyal how?"
Damon looks down at the new hybrid, "he'll seek acceptance from his master. it's rare, but maybe not so much in hybrids"
"so how do i fix him?" Caroline asks concerned.
Alex grins, "get a new boyfriend, love," Caroline shrinks to the floor.
once everyone was out in the woods, Alex walked to Rebekah who was at the keg stand filling up her beer. Stefan came up from behind Alex and stole Rebekah's cup. he smirked towards the sisters before walking away, the wink he sent Alex's way not going unnoticed.
"what's got you frowning, dear sister?" Alex asks, but she knew exactly why Rebekah was upset. she knew her sister fancied the same boy she did.
Rebekah sighed, "i thought Tyler would be here"
Tyler woke up confused. he sat up and saw Caroline sitting in a chair across from him.
"what the hell? how did i get home?"
"i brought you here. you were being a d-bag" Caroline spats at him.
Tyler scoffs, "what's is your problem today?"
"my problem is you've been sired. do you even know what that means? it means that you put Klaus' needs first. he is your master now" Tyler looks at her confused.
"i'm not anyone's pet, Caroline. he doesn't control me"
"well something's controlling you! don't know why else you're acting like the old you" she says and starts walking away.
he snorts, "the old me?"
Caroline starts yelling, "yeah, the old you. the pre-werewolf you. the obnoxious you that I would never be friends with!"
Tyler stands up, running to her, "woah, wait. i'm sorry. i don't want to be that guy. i hated that guy" he says standing in front of her.
"you're a hybrid now Tyler. everything about you is heightened. so you have to be careful" he nods in agreement and looks into her eyes.
"i will. i promise. just don't hate me" he says and grabs her face in his hands, "everything i like about me is you" he says and kisses her. she kisses back and wraps her arms around his neck and his hands go to her waist.
Caroline pulls back, "there's one more thing" Tyler groans, "i want you to stay away from Alex"
his eyes widen, "what, why?" he asks taking a few steps backwards.
"she's trying to get to you Tyler, she wants you for herself!" she yells and he shakes his head.
"no, she's my friend. my only friend besides Matt. i understand that you're just trying to 'protect' me and all, but you can't tell me who i can and cannot hang out with" he yells back.
"god you're so blind. it's obvious that she likes you! just...just stay away from her" she sighs and Tyler scoffs.
"you're being ridiculous"
"are you serious? tell me Tyler, how do you feel about Alex Pierce?" she says walking towards him.
"i-i don't know, im mean yeah she's hot, and nice... i don't know, we kinda just bonded when we met. if felt good to have someone like that you know? we understand each other. she doesn't get jealous over the stupidest shit ever" he says glaring at Caroline. she takes a deep breath and laughs.
"that right there was you proving that you have feelings for her, and i can't date someone who likes another girl"
"what are you saying Caroline?" he asks softly.
"we're done, Tyler. enjoy having Alex as your new girlfriend" Caroline spats. she grabs her stuff and walks out. Tyler sighs and runs his hands through his hair.
Tyler goes and takes a shower and comes back into the room he was in earlier, only in a towel. he fixed up the couch and senses someone behind him and turns around.
"Alex? what are you doing here?" he asked confused, securing the towel around his waist.
"i have something for you" she smiles.
"what?"
she grins, "a little present," she goes to the balcony then comes back a second later with a girl, blood dripping from her neck. she puts some blood on her finger and tastes it, the savory taste makes her hum in delight.
"you should go" Tyler stutters, smelling the blood and fighting the urge to get a taste himself.
Alex frowns, "you sure? i think it's best to indulge in everything life has to offer" she grabs the girl's wrist then bites into it feeding on her. the temptation got the best of Tyler. he immediately vamp speeds over and feeds on her neck.
