bonus side chapter with important events in Aleksandra's past from years 1100-1560
FIRST AWAKENING
Aleksandra had just woken up for the first time in 100 years. the coven had kept her body safe and unharmed during the time she was asleep. but she didn't know how long she had slept. to her it was as if she had only blinked. one second she was in the middle of her village tied to ropes, and the next she was in a large hut.
she was confused, so many new faces, but none were her family. the new witches had surrounded the girl and she felt overwhelmed. she stood up and backed away to give herself some space from the unfamiliar faces.
"where am I?" she asked, "where is my family?"
the witches looked at each other. the poor girl had no idea what had happened to her. one of them approached her, "what is the last thing you remember?"
she thought for a moment, the memories coming back with every other word she spoke, "I, uh, I-I was with one of my brothers and my sister. our father tried to make us drink blood, and I was the only one who couldn't... and then there was my mother and the other village witches. they, uh, were chanting a spell I had never heard before and I grew weak... my mother, she told me that I would survive..." she perked up, "where is my mother?"
the eldest one frowned, "I'm sorry, dear. your mother is dead"
Aleksandra gasped and tears welled up in her vision, "no, no, no, she can't be. she's alive! my family is out there!"
another one of the elders spoke, "you've been asleep for a hundred years, your mother is not here anymore"
Aleksandra collapsed to the floor and cried. the elder kneeled in front of her and Aleksandra forcefully grabbed her arm, siphoning the magic from her. her hand glowed red and the elder gasped in pain. as the magic was siphoned into her body, a giant storm came over the town. the wind was powerful and the rain fell rapidly. the witches in the cottage realized it was the young girl and tried to stop her.
"get away from me!" Aleksandra screamed, pushing her hands out to powerfully force all of the witches out of the room made specifically for her. the storm grew more powerful and started to tear apart homes and other buildings.
Aleksandra sobbed, realizing that her family was gone. and it was all because of them. the witches. the ones who hated her for her unique power.
she then stood up, a spine chilling glare on her features, and she slowly trudged out into the village. the witches and towns people tried to detain her, but she was more powerful than them all combined. she felt so much sadness and anger. the coven had cursed her because she was different from them, forced her to live without her family. she wanted revenge.
lightning struck a home, causing it to erupt into flames. villagers scattered and screamed, trying to take out the fire. Aleksandra took this as an opportunity. she held her hands out in front of her and quickly approached the home.
"Ex Spiritum In Tacullum, En Terrum Incendium, Phasmatos Salves A Distum!" the fire spread all over the village, burning everything and everyone in it's path. villagers tried to attack her with spears and knives, but she raised her hand, twisting her wrist a closing her hand into a fist. all the villagers surrounding her fell to the floor, dead, with broken necks.
she continued to reek havoc on the tiny village until no one was left to stand, either being dead or too injured to move. the sight of the terror in each persons eyes was euphoric
Aleksandra took a deep breath at the scene in front of her. satisfied with her destruction to the village, she grinned wickedly and strutted away from the village into the woods.
IMMORALITY SPELL AND NEW LIFE
Bulgaria 1488
the travelers had finally found and taken hold of the coffin belonging to the youngest Mikaelson girl. the girl inside was meant to wake at any moment, and when she did, the travelers were going to use the gold dagger grasped in her hands to kill her.
while they prepared for this, another group of people were on their way to stop them. being the most dangerous vampires in the world gave the Mikaelson family many allies, and it also gave them to chance to finally get their youngest sibling back. Niklaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol Mikaelson were determined to free their sister from the curse their mother put her under, and thanks to Kol's connections to powerful witches, they could finally do just that. they knew it was risky to mess with travelers, but 400 years without their sister was torture.
the plan was simple. kill the travelers guarding the coffin, take their sister back to Kol and his witch friends, get said witches to undo the sleeping spell, and finally have their family back together. but things changed with Niklaus got word of a woman with the same face as Tatia in the area. this was the doppelgänger he had been looking for. she was the one who could free him from his curse. so Niklaus created a new plan of his own.
once the Mikaelsons had brought the coffin their sister laid in to the witches, they immediately began the reversal spell. Klaus knew that his siblings would be angry about what he was going to do, but he didn't care. he cared about himself and Aleksandra, and his plan was the only way to free them both.
after some time the spell finished and Kol dismissed his witch friends. the four Mikaelson siblings gathered around the coffin as they waited for their sister to wake up. moments later, she did just that.
dressed in clothing from a century before, the youngest Mikaelson awoke and was greeted by the very people she wanted most in the world. the first person she saw was Kol, her favorite sibling and the one she was closest to.
"Kol..." Aleksandra immediately sat up and wrapped her arms around her brothers neck. tears streamed down her face in joy as she clutched his jacket, "I knew you'd come find me"
Klaus chuckled from his spot a foot away, "don't give Kol all the credit, Aleksandra," the girl recognized that cocky tone all too well and turned to see the owner with a bright smile. Klaus, for the first time in a long time, smiled genuinely, "it's good to have you back, sister"
Aleksandra laughed as she wiped her tears away, "I've missed you all so much... I never thought I'd see you again"
"thanks to mother you're not the only one whose lived this long," Elijah spoke with Rebekah at his side.
Aleksandra hurriedly go out of the coffin and hugged the final two siblings in the room. but there was one missing her eldest brother Finn was not there. the brother she thought would be the first to greet her be so happy to see her.
the girl looked around the room and grew worried when she didn't see him, "where is Finn? why isn't he here?"
Kol rolled his eyes, "Niklaus stuck a dagger in his heart
Aleksandra felt her heart out of her chest as her eyes found Niklaus', "you killed Finn?"
Niklaus weakened under her gaze, he couldn't find the words to speak. she believed that Finn was permanently dead because of him, "he's not actually dead, Alek. I just... the ash of the white oak tree can put us to sleep. he's just asleep"
Aleksandra sighed in relief, "so you did it to protect him? is he dangerous?"
no he just got on my nerves, is what Niklaus wanted to say.
"yes..." is what he said instead, "he was angry at us, our world, I did what I had to do"
the Niklaus Aleksandra knew wasn't one to lie and scheme, so she believed what he said was true.
while Aleksandra talked with her siblings, one of the witches who had done the spell approached Kol. they went a few feet and away and whispered to each other. the witch handed Kol a paper with the spell they used on it, and told him something that shook him to his core. Elijah tried to listen in, but all he could hear was two words. Silas and immorality.
after talking to Kol and leaving him frozen in disbelief, the witch then walked over to the others.
"we have one more thing to do to complete the spell," she said towards the group, but mainly Klaus in particular.
"what else is there to do?" Aleksandra asked. Rebekah and Elijah were confused as well, they thought everything was done.
Niklaus cleared his throat, "of course... we're done, you may carry on"
Kol was shocked back into reality as the witch placed her hands on both sides of Aleksandra's head.
"stop this, now!" he yelled, trying to reach them and break the spell.
but it was too late. the witch's hands glowed as she muttered a spell, words like travelers. Aleksandrina. and Petrova. stood out the most.
the witch released Aleksandra and walked away. Aleksandra opened her eyes, memory blank.
"where am I? who are you you people?" she asked, eyes filled with fear.
Rebekah covered her mouth in shock, tears pooling in her eyes, "there's no way"
Niklaus was the one to start in front of her, his own eyes spilling tears down his face, "you must be lost, let us take you home, dear. but first, what is your name?"
"Aleksandrina Petrova"
BIRTH OF NADIA
Bulgaria 1490
"are you feeling any better Katerina? do you need anything?" Aleksandrina asked her sister who was laying in bed feeling ill from her pregnancy.
"i've already told you a thousand times Aleksandrina, i'm fine" Katerina smiled weakly.
she nodded, gave her sister a kiss on the forehead, and walked out of the room.
later that night Aleksandrina awoke to a scream. she jumped and ran to her sister's room.
"Katerina!" she yelled and as she arrived she saw her sister kneeling on the ground and clutching her stomach. she gasped and ran over to her.
"mama, father, help!" she screamed hugging her sister and her parents shortly run in.
"the baby's coming, get her on the bed now!" her mother said and walked over to her youngest daughter who was screaming in pain.
"you're gonna be okay Katerina" Aleksandrina whispers to her, clutching her hand.
hours of screaming and crying passed and the baby was born.
"it's a girl" their mother says holding the child. the sisters smile to each other.
"a girl" Katerina mutters trying to catch her breath. "please mama...let me see her" the mother tried to hand the baby to her daughter but stops once she hears a voice
"Woman don't! what are you doing?" her father says. all eyes are on him as her mother walks away with the baby in her hands wearing a frown. Katerina turns to her father a broken expression on her face.
"let me at least hold her once... just once...at least once" she begs as her father holds the baby and her sister walks to her father.
"forget it! you have disgraced this family!" her father yells and the older girl stands in front of him.
"father please, just let Katerina hold her child for a second!" she begs but her father shakes his head and grows angry.
"no! she will not hold this child and that is final! move out of my way" he says and shoves the girl to the side and she hits the wall with a loud thud. tears fall as she is shocked that her father would do such a thing to her.
"no father!... NO!" Katerina sobs as she watches her father walk off with her daughter.
"Katerina. it's better for her!" her mother says trying to hug her
"no, mama, please" she cries hugging her back.
Aleksandrina gets up quickly, surprisingly unscathed, and runs after her father. she follows him out to the front door where a couple is waiting.
"father... at least let me name her" the eldest Petrova daughter pleads.
the wife of the couple meant to take her niece smiles, "tell us what you have in mind, dear"
Aleksandrina becomes silent, trying to regain her breath. she looks at her niece in her fathers arms. such a beautiful baby.
she smiles to herself, then shows her beautiful smile to the three before her, "Nadia. her name should be Nadia"
THE DARK RIPPER
France 1558-1560
Aleksandra has been a free woman for 61 years while her brothers hunt down her former sister Katerina. for over a year, she has been living in the French court. people in the castle believe she is Mary, the Queen of Scotland's twin sister, and with that comes many benefits, so she keeps up the act.
no one knows of her supernatural abilities except her lover, Lucien Castle, who was the first person to be turned into a vampire by her brother Niklaus. he's a dark and handsome man, one that brings out the worst in Aleksandra. but she is too blinded by experiencing love for the first time to realize that all this man wants is power and blood.
Lucien has encouraged her to use dark magic recently. Aleksandra was hesitant at first, she knew the dangers of such magic, but his compelling eyes and the sweet tone of voice he used with her, she couldn't say no to him.
with every spell she performed, dark black veins decorated her skin. by now they stretch from the tips of her fingers to her face. and also with every spell, a sliver of her humanity vanishes, and the ancestors on the other side have more and more access to her mind and body.
the side effects of the dark magic enhance her speed, strength, hearing, and her thirst for blood. she cares about nothing other than Lucien and ripping someone's head off as she feeds on them.
and with his enhanced version of Aleksandra, Lucien uses her to take over the French castle. the two vampires alone killed the King of France along with 200 others, covering their tracks by Aleksandra using a spell to convince others that the victims suffered from a plague.
their path of destruction did not end with the capital. they spread all throughout France and the surrounding countries, killing everyone they deemed worthy to kill.
by 1560, a whole population's worth of people were killed by the hands of Aleksandra and Lucien. the power of dark magic had now completely consumed her.
"more... i want more!" is what she would say after ripping a body to pieces. blood filled her mouth and nearly covered her entire body. she was living in a state of euphoria.
her last victim was a middle aged woman in England. thr Mikaelson siblings had tracked them there. they chained Aleksandra up inside the house, and Kol compelled Lucien to run away and don't look back, to forget the past three years.
"LET ME GO, NIKLAUS!" Aleksandra would scream, fighting with all her strength to free herself from the chains.
"i'm sorry I could not protect you, dear sister," Niklaus said on the first of many days of her imprisonment, "but I will not let you go until I get my baby sister back"
Aleksandra chuckled with a smirk, "take as long as you want. you won't get passed them. they need me. I have to find the golden dagger! that is the only way you will the your boring, innocent sister you wish for"
Niklaus froze at the mention of the weapon. it had been gone since they woke her up over 60 years ago. he had never told her, or any of their siblings the reason that dagger was created...so how did she know it existed?
but the question that racked his brain the most...
did she know it was the only thing that could kill her?
