Clang!
As Arterion raised his hand, a transparent barrier materialized in the air, intercepting Ghislainâs sword.
âHm?â
Crack!
The barrier shattered under the force of the blade, which continued its trajectory. Arterion leaned back, narrowly avoiding the strike.
âImpressive,â he remarked, a hint of admiration in his voice. He prepared to retaliate, but the others had already begun their assault.
Whooosh!
Parniel, her expression a mask of fury, swung her massive mace directly at Arterionâs head. Ever since the dragon had denounced the goddess, she had been contemplating how to crush that arrogant skull.
He turned urgently toward Belinda, his expression uncharacteristically alarmed.
âWho are you? How do you know this techniqueâ?â
Before he could finish his question, the daggers, tracing paths of light, shot toward him.
Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!
Arterion dodged deftly, stepping back repeatedly. Gillian and Tenant closed in beside him, swinging their weapons.
Whoosh!
Both attacks missed as Arterion once again teleported away, reappearing closer to Belinda.
He needed to know who she wasâwas she a descendant, or somehow connected to his long-lost companion?
