The Alphaâs Hidden Heirs Chapter 83 SBonds æ Menu She shook her head. âEveryone thinks heâs our dad. Even my friendâs parents believe that.â
âWhat do you mean? Isnât he your dad?â I asked, my voice laced with urgency.
I was torn, unsure whether I should believe this little girlâs words. It seemed like she didnât fully understand the truth. But at the same time, how could Selene hide something so important from her own children?
Letting out a deep sigh, I shook my head. âDidnât Axel attend your parentsâ meeting?â
She gave me a small nod. âYeah, but that was only because Mommy had an exam that day. Uncle Axel told her not to worry and went in her place.â
âShe had an exam? Sheâs still studying?â
âMommy just finished school. You didnât know that?â
I had no idea. Selene had gone back to school? And she had even graduated? Memories surfaced- back then, she had given up her education to marry me. Her adoptive father had told me she had no interest in continuing school. I assumed she just wasnât a good student and never thought much about it.
While I was lost in thought, Luna mumbled something that caught my attention. âUncle Axel once told us to call him Dad, but Mommy stopped us. She said we shouldnât call another man our dad. He just loves us a lot, thatâs why he said it, but we shouldnât take it seriously.â
Her words stunned me. I lowered my head, looking her in the eyes. âThen who is your dad?â
Tears welled up in her big eyes as she stared at me. âHeâs not with us anymore. Heâs gone.â
I froze. âWhat?â
âMommy said our dad isnât here anymore. She told us never to talk about him. So, Leo and I donât.â
âHeâs... gone?â I echoed, her words rattling in my mind.
I sat up straight, my thoughts spiraling. What she said hit me hard. If Axel were really their father, Selene wouldnât have told them something like that. She wouldnât erase their father from their lives if he were still around.
Somehow, a weight lifted off my chest. I wasnât sure why, but knowing their father wasnât in the picture left me feeling... different.
âTell me more about your dad,â I urged her.
She immediately shook her head. âNo. Mommy said not to talk about him.â
I rubbed my forehead, trying to process everything. Luna looked sad again.
I got out of the car and walked around to open her door. Bending down, I picked her up in my arms. âLetâs go get some ice cream. No more being sad, okay?â
She clung to my neck tightly, as if afraid sheâd be lost again. I tightened my hold, making sure she felt safe.
As soon as we stepped into the ice cream parlor, people turned to look at us. Ignoring the stares, I headed straight to the counter.

= Menu Seleneâs frantic voice filled my ear. I didnât respond, only listening to the sound of her ragged breathing.
âWhy arenât you saying anything? Where is she?â she yelled.
âSheâs with me,â I answered coolly.
âGive me back my daughter! Why did you take her? Sheâs just a child, Kane. How could you stoop so low? Do you have any shame?â
Her accusations didnât anger me. I remained calm, listening to her.
What had Finn told her? That I had kidnapped her daughter? Did she really think I had nothing better to do with my life?
âDo you want me to return your projects? Tell me, Kane, what do âThe truth.â.
âWâWhat?â
you want?â
I glanced at Luna, who smiled up at me. I returned the gesture with a small smirk, but my tone remained cold as I spoke into the phone.
âI want the truth about your childrenâs father. Iâm sending you an address. Come pick up your daughter. But today, youâre not leaving until you tell me everything.â
