Chapter 440 Selene froze for a moment after hearing the Alphaâs words, her brow furrowing deeply.
âWhat are you saying?â she questioned, her tone sharp as her eyes bore into the man.
The Alpha hesitated, glancing nervously toward the others in the room, unsure whether his information was fully accurate.
Seleneâs mind raced. It had been years since she distanced herself from the Iron Crown Packâs company, and during her time there, she had never even heard of the Shadowveil Pack. Why, then, had her brother chosen to align himself with them? It didnât make sense, especially considering that he had only recently recovered from his illness. What could have possibly driven him to side with wizards?
Gamma Stormâs voice cut through her thoughts. âLetâs table this for now. Thereâs no need to dwell on the Iron Crown Pack at this moment. Weâll speak to them directly when the time comes,â he said, addressing the room with authority.
Selene nodded in agreement, though her gaze lingered on the Alpha who had brought up the issue. She couldnât shake the unease building inside her. The mention of her brother had rattled her, and she knew she needed to confront hi about this soon. But there was something else holding her back- she hadnât yet told him what Kan had done. She knew her brotherâs temperament. His love for her was fierce, and the moment he learned of Kaneâs betrayal, he wouldnât hesitate to tear her away from this pack and its Alpha. For now, she would keep quiet and focus on the matter at hand.
As the meeting progressed, Selene gave the gathered Alphas clear instructions regarding the companies that were merging with the packâs enterprise. Once everything was addressed, she drew the meeting to a close.
The Alphas rose in unison, bowing respectfully to her.
âDonât forget to have dinner before you leave,â Selene said as she stood. She had already made arrangements for their meal, ensuring they were properly taken care of.
Her presence held them spellbound. Every Alpha in the room was captivatedânot only by her commanding aura but also by her striking beauty. The black dress she wore clung to her figure, elegant yet modest enough to maintain her dignity. Still, her flawless features and undeniable presence were almost too much for them to handle.
A forbidden sense of admiration lingered in the air. They all knew better than to entertain such thoughts about their Luna. After all, they were well aware of who she belonged to. Even in Kaneâs absence, they knew the consequences of disrespecting his wife would be catastrophic. The mere idea of crossing that line sent shivers down their spines.
Selene swept out of the meeting hall, her hair falling neatly down her back to conceal the exposed skin of her dress. She hadnât dressed to provoke anyone, least of all the Alphas. But deep down, she knew why she had chosen this particular gown. It wasnât for themâit was to show Kane that she was no longer his to control, that she had slipped from his grasp entirely.
As she walked, Selene unlocked her phone, her mind still preoccupied with the revelation about her brother and the Shadowveil Pack. She felt an urgent need to call him, to hear his explanation for this alliance.

She entered the living room and sank into the couch, deciding she would see the Alphas off after dinner. With a sigh, she dialed her brotherâs number, but each call went unanswered. The line was unreachable.
Frustrated, she leaned back and stared at the ceiling before deciding to call Axel instead. He answered after just two rings.
âWhatâs up?â Axelâs familiar voice greeted her.
Selene took a calming breath before responding. âIâm good. How are you and everyone else?â she asked, keeping her tone light.
âWeâre fine. Your momâs been trying to reach you for two days. Where the hell have you been?â Axel replied, his tone mildly scolding.
Selene rubbed her temple, guilt flickering across her face. âIâve been busy,â she answered vaguely. âWhereâs your Alpha?â
âHeâs out of the pack for some meetings,â Axel replied.
Selene hesitated, debating whether to ask Axel about the Shadowveil Pack. But after a momentâs con sideration, she decided to wait and speak to her brother directly. âTell Magnus to call me when he gets back,â she instructed.
âGot it,â Axel replied.
With that, Selene ended the call. But as she lowered her phone, her peripheral vision caught something -movement. A shadow.
She turned sharply, her eyes narrowing as she noticed a silhouette lurking behind the couch.
Nyx was standing there, her expression startled.
Selene shot her a cold, piercing glare. âWere you eavesdropping on my private conversation?â she demanded, her voice sharp and unforgiving.
Nyx blinked, her stunned expression betraying her guilt. âMâMagnus? You were talking about Alpha Magnus?â she stammered, her voice trembling.
Seleneâs frown deepened as she studied Nyxâs reaction. âWhat about my brother? Do you know him?â she asked, her tone sharp and suspicious.
