Chapter 348 âYOU!!!â
My voice came out in pure shock. He let out a low chuckle and murmured, âToo adorable to react like that.â
I shot him a sharp glare. âWhat the hell are you doing here?â
âGoing on vacation with my family. Isnât it obvious?â
Get S E Menu His smug tone made my hands itch to smack him, but I forced myself to stay calmâuntil I saw a security guard loading my luggage into the trunk of the car parked outside my house.
I turned to my kids, my eyes narrowing.
âYou twoâwhy is your dad here?â
âMommy, Daddyâs coming with us too,â Luna chirped.
âWhat? Excuse me? Neither of you mentioned that little detail.â
Leo shrugged, shaking his head. âWe never said he wasnât coming either. Mommy, weâre happy Dadâs joining us.â
I could not believe Kane had pulled this on me. My frustration boiled over as I yanked the door handle, trying to get out.
âIâm not going anywhere with him.â
But the door wouldnât budgeâit was locked. My head snapped toward Kane.
âUnlock this door. Now. You and I are not traveling together. If the kids want you there so badly, fine. Go with them. But Iâm not coming.â
To my surprise, he nodded like he actually understood. For a second, I thought heâd step out and let me go alone with the kids.
I was dead wrong.
Instead of unlocking the door, he started the damn car.
âWhat the hell do you think youâre doing?â
âI know you wonât listen to me,â he said smoothly. âSo Iâm not listening to you either.â
With a smirk, he glanced at me in the rearview mirror. The kids, on the other hand, erupted in excitement.
âYes! Weâre all going together!â
âWoohoo!â
Their laughter filled the car, and despite my irritation, I felt my anger soften just a little. Their happiness was always my weakness.
For their sake, Iâd have to put up with this man.

Menu Letting out a slow breath, I leaned back against my seat and turned to stare out the window.
I should have realized something was up when Luna brought up leaving at night. If I had known Kane was coming, I wouldâve made sure they left without me. The last thing I wanted was to spend an entire vacation stuck with him.
Kaneâs voice broke through my thoughts.
âDonât you think Mommy is awfully quiet today?â
The kids turned to look at me. Lunaâs voice came out small.
âMommy... are you mad at us?â
I didnât respond or even glance their way. I needed them to understand that what they did wasnât okay, so they wouldnât pull something like this again.
Leoâs voice was soft but persuasive. âMommy, weâre really sorry.â
âIf you want,â Luna added in an adorably solemn tone, âwe wonât eat ice cream for a few days. Just donât be mad at us, please?â
I let out a sigh, finally turning to them.
âYou donât have to give up your ice cream. Mommyâs not mad. But next time, tell me before making plans like this, alright?â
Kane, however, didnât seem satisfied with my answer.
âSheâs lying,â he teased. âSheâs totally still mad. Doesnât look happy to me.â
I shot him a warning glare, my eyes locking onto his annoyingly handsome profile.
âOh? And what exactly do you want me to do? Burst into song and dance because Iâm so thrilled to be going on a trip with Alpha Kane?â
He laughed, flashing me a knowing look.
âIâd love to see that, baby.â
