Chapter 176 Meraz The moment the video ended, I shoved the laptop away with such force that it fell off the desk and crashed onto the floor.
âKane!â
Finnâs voice was sharp as he tried to grab my arm, but I yanked it away violently.
âHow can I be so stupid? HOW?â
I roared, my voice echoing in the room. It felt as though my chest was on fire, burning with the weight of the truth I had just uncovered. My thoughts spiraled, each one cutting deeper into my already raw heart Selene was innocent.
She hadnât drugged me. She hadnât trapped me. She hadnât schemed against me.
The betrayal I had felt for years wasnât hersâit had been her cousinâs.
âBring that bitch here to me. I will kill her!â
I yelled at the officials standing nearby. They immediately lowered their heads in submission, not daring to meet my eyes.
I ran my fingers through my hair, trying to steady my breathing, but the truth was suffocating me.
Selene hadnât just been innocentâsheâd been a victim. A victim of her cousinâs manipulations, of her familyâs schemes, and of my wrath.
I punched the glass desk in front of me with all the force I could muster. It shattered instantly, shards flying everywhere. Pain shot through my hand as blood began to drip from the torn skin, but I didnât care.
âWHY?â I bellowed, my voice raw with anguish.
Finn and Storm rushed to me, grabbing my arms to stop me from destroying everything in the room.
âAlpha, please! Control your anger!â Finn urged, his voice firm yet calm.
Delta Derek stepped forward, his tone cautious but urgent. âKane, weâre in the company right now. You need to get a hold of yourself.â
I barely heard him. My mind was consumed by the truth I had just uncovered.
âDid you not hear me?â I growled, my voice venomous. âBring that bitch here right now!â
Theta Gideon stepped forward, his expression serious. âIâll find Seleneâs cousin,â he said firmly before turning and leaving the room.
As soon as he was gone, Derek broke the uneasy silence. âWhy would that woman drug you if she didnât plan to send Selene into your room?â he asked, his confusion evident.
Finn answered before I could. âItâs simple. She wanted to ruin Seleneâs reputationâsend her to an old manâs room to destroy her dignityâbut at the same time, she wanted to get close to Alpha herself.â

< Chapter 176 I tightened my fists at his words, the motion causing fresh blood to seep from my wounded hand And then Seleneâs words echoed in my mind:
âI thought you would kill my children.â
My eyes widened as a heavy realization settled over me.
Was she telling the truth all along? Was her fear of me the real reason she divorced me and ran away? Had she hidden my children from me just to protect them from me?
The weight of my guilt hit me like a tidal wave.
I lowered my head, my breathing uneven as my wolf growled inside me. He was furiousânot at her, but at me.
âYou were wrong!â he snarled, his voice ringing in my head. âYou hurt our mate! You didnât even try to find the truth!â
He was right. I had been wrong from the start. I had let my anger blind me, and in doing so, I had hurt Selene.
Finn, my beta and my best friend, pulled me back toward the couches and forced me to sit down.
âTake it,â he said, offering me a cigarette from a fresh packet.
I took it reluctantly, but what I really wanted in that moment was a bottle of wine to drown out the storm in my mind.
I stared at the cigarette in my hand as my thoughts continued to spiral.
âAll this time... I was hurting her for nothing?â I muttered to myself.
My wolf growled again, louder this time, reminding me of every moment I had ignored her pain, dismissed her words, and punished her for something she hadnât done.
I couldnât stay there any longer.
I stood up abruptly and began walking toward the door.
Finnâs voice rang out behind me. âWhere are you going? I canât let you leave in this state. I canât take the risk.â
I didnât turn to look at him. I opened the door and replied without hesitation, âI need to talk to her.â
Without waiting for a response, I stepped out of the room.
