CHAPTER 1266
Pursuing My Ex-Wife Isnât Easy chapter 1266
Nellie continued clutching her throat as she cried out to Nigel, âQuick, help Great -Granny get the water
out! â
Nigel froze for a moment, then shook his head. âItâs no use anymoreâ¦â
Great-Granny had been using this jug and glass for almost a year, and Celia was the one who had
prepared the water for her during this time. If Celia had intended to poison herâ¦then this day would not
have been the first day.
âWhat are you talking about, Joshua?â Celia, who was sitting on the other side of the sofa, could not
help but frown upon hearing this. She tossed the photos in her hand onto the coffee table and stared a
t Joshua with an accusatory expression. âWeâve been living in peace all this while, and I was just
pouring Granny Lynch and the children some water out of kindness. How could you accuse me of
poisoning them as soon as you drip some paint into the water?â
Joshua curled his lips into a smirk, then proffered the medicine to her. âAunty Celia, let me introduce
you to this. This is a drug testing substance that was provided to me by a famous doctor abroad. Itâs
formulated specially to detect the kind of poison that was given to Granny Lynch by the Landry family
many years ago.â
With that, he poured a glass of water from the water dispenser machine next to him and put a drop of
the poison testing substance into it.
However, the water did not change color at all.
The color drained from Celiaâs face as she stiffened.
However, she still did not want to admit the truth. â Who knows if this is the same substance that you
put inside Granny Lynch and Nellieâs glass? Donât think that you can scare me with some color-
changing paint! â
âThatâs right.â Michael scoffed and chimed in, âI donât even know where you got this paint. Didnât Luna
put a few drops of this into the soup last night? The color was much darker than the color of the water
just now.
âWhen I saw the greenish hue, I thought it was some special condiment, but there was no taste to the
soup at all.
âIf this paint can really detect poison, then why am I fine right now? itâs already been 24 hours since I
drank that entire bowl of soup.â
Adrian immediately widened his eyes upon hearing this. He said in a shaky voice, âMichael! Youâ¦you
drank the soup that Luna poured a drug-testing substance into?â
Michael glanced at Adrian and Celia, who were as pale as ghosts, and said, âWhy are you so worried?
Iâm fine.â
âWhat do you mean, youâre fine?â
It was clear that Michael had drunk the soup that Aura had poisoned.
Celia was agitated by this and immediately dragged Michael out of the room. âCome! Go to the hospital
with me! â
âIâm fine, really! â
âYouâre fine now, but this is a slow-acting poison. Itâll only take effect when itâs achieved a certain
concentration in your body after a while! How can I be sure that the poison wonât take effect inside you
without undergoing a checkup? lâll be worried sick! â Celia cried and brought Michael out of the room.
Their voices grew further and further away. The entire living room fell into silence.
As soon as Adrian lifted his head, he met Granny Lynchâs furious gaze.
He let out an awkward cough and said, âUm, Iâll go check on Michael, too.â With that, he tried to RêAd latðSt chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
escape.
However, Nigel stood up and blocked his path. â Granddad, it seems like youâve known all about the
poison that Grandma Celia put into the water all along. Donât you think you should stay and explain
what your entire family is trying to do to Great- Granny and Daddy?â
