ELEANOR
The moment my hand was free, I swung my fist at him. Surprisingly, I punched him in the nose, which started bleeding as he stepped back.
I took this as my chance and tried to run. The chains on my legs made it so I could only really hop, and the rogue was faster. He grabbed my hair and dragged me toward him.
âI thought I would be nice to you. But it looks like thatâs not going to work,â he said in a dangerously calm voice.
He dragged me by my hair and banged my head on the concrete wall several times until I felt my head start to spin.
Blood was oozing from a cut in my forehead, obstructing my vision. My head was pounding while my eyes moved in and out of consciousness.
He quickly chained my hands together and locked them before throwing me to the floor. I looked at him to see that he was fumbling with his belt, and a cold shiver ran down my spine.
âPlease, donât.â I began crying and begging him. âIâ¦Iâm pregnant,â I blurted out, and this made his hand momentarily stop.
âFor the sake of my baby. Please let me go,â I said, and for a fleeting moment, I thought that there was some amount of humanity left in him, but I was wrong.
A lustful smile appeared on his face. âThis will be fun,â he said as he grabbed my hair and made me look at him.
âNow I can see your miscarriage as well,â he said and dropped my head.
Sobs shook through my body as I wondered how anyone could be so heartless.
He managed to remove his belt, and when he was about to remove his pants. I got up from the floor and tackled him using my head, while fumbling to hit him in the balls. A look of pain crossed his face as he held his family jewels, and then the door to the room flew open.
Both the rogue and I looked up in alarm, and I saw a stranger standing there.
My head was already pounding, and I was not able to think straight.
âWhat the fuck!â the rogue yelled as he fought the intruder.
I quickly moved back, pressed my back against the concrete wall, and pulled my legs closer to my chest.
I heard a lot of banging and growls when everything became silent again.
Soon, the same guy walked in toward me. âMiss Amato?â he spoke gently while I avoided his glance.
My heart was beating against my chest while my entire body trembled in fear.
âAre you hurt anywhere?â he asked me, but I didnât speak a word.
My eyes were threatening to close, but I was afraid that if I fainted now, something might happen to me or my baby.
The man moved toward me, quickly unlocked the locks, and removed the chains that were wrapped around my hands and legs. As the man took a step back, someone else walked into the room.
âEleanor?â The voice of my mate made fresh tears roll down my cheeks.
His T-shirt was soaked with blood, but there was a relieved look on his face.
âXavier!â I choked out, and soon he came and took a seat next to me and pulled me toward him. I wrapped my arms around his waist while he stroked my hair.
âYouâre safe now. Youâre safe.â He kept repeating those words, and that was when I finally allowed myself to slip into darkness.
BETA XAVIER
She fainted in my arms, and I knew I needed to get her to the pack hospital as soon as possible.
A warrior walked in with the T-shirt I asked for. I quickly made Eleanor wear it and then carried her out of the building.
âBeta Costa, we have killed all the rogues, and Mr. Amatoâs wife is dead as well,â one of the warriors informed me.
âGood. What happened to Eleanorâs stepbrother, Jacob?â
âWeâve taken Mr. Amato to the pack dungeon along with Avery,â he answered, and I nodded my head as I climbed the stairs.
âBeta Costa, should we kill Benjamin and Chantelle?â he asked me, sounding hesitant.
âNo, take them to the dungeon as well. I want to see the life slip from their eyes,â I told him, and he nodded his head and walked away.
I walked back outside, and a warrior had already brought my car.
âYou drive,â I told the warrior, and he nodded his head and made his way to the driverâs seat while I got into the back with Eleanor.

âPlease put her on the stretcher, Beta Costa,â one of the nurses said as she saw me bring Eleanor inside.
I quickly placed her on the stretcher, and they wheeled her into the emergency room. I was pacing up and down the corridor when I saw Ivan standing in front of a closed door.
âIvan?â I called out, which made him turn around to look at me.
âHow is Rebecca doing now?â
âThey were able to stabilize her. The doctor said that she was out of danger, but it would take some time for her to wake up.â
âDonât worry, sheâll be okay,â I reassured him.
âI heard that Eleanor is in the hospital. Is everything all right?â he asked me, sounding concerned.
I nodded my head. âYes, she fainted, but I also wanted to make sure that everything was okay,â I told him.
âBeta Costa.â I turned around when I saw a nurse standing there.
âYes.â
âMiss Amato is shifted to a room, and the doctor would like to have a word with you,â she said.
I nodded my head and walked to where Eleanor was. As I entered the room, I saw the doctor there.
âBeta Costa, did you know that Miss Amato was pregnant?â she asked me.
I nodded my head. âIs the baby all right, Doctor?â
