David Jones casually stuffed the Turtle Dragon Egg into Rossetti Lindwoodâs arms.
At this moment, Rossetti seemed a little embarrassed and kept thanking him, making Greenox, who was driving in front, envious.
The competition in Umbral was intense. Ordinary Ghosts, even if they had the chance to worship a powerful master, would have to compete with their fellow disciples for years of diligent service to their Teacher and obtain an entry-level technique.
Before Greenox became a disciple, he worked tirelessly and followed his Teacher through life and death for ten years, even having a close encounter with deathâs door, before receiving the Monarch Body Cultivation Technique called Copperbull Refining Technique from his master. As for receiving treasures, they were out of the question.
After all, it was only natural for disciples to serve their Teachers.
In Umbral, disciples would mainly present treasures to their Teachers, while the idea of Teachers giving treasures to their disciples could only be dreamt of while asleep.
At this moment, if it wasnât for his clear understanding of his own status and talent, Greenox would have long bowed down and asked Healer to take him as a disciple!
âThis Turtle Dragon Egg should hatch within half a month. To prevent it from not recognizing you, youâd better use ghost force to nurture it during this time so it becomes familiar with your breath and can be raised as a pet.â David Jonesâ reminded.
Pet? Rossetti blinked, not quite understanding.
âYes, the growth period of the Turtle Dragon isnât particularly long among the Hybrid Dragon species, but itâs not short either. It takes at least several decades to reach adulthood. Until then, apart from being a decorative pet and a heavy eater, it has no other use to you.â David Jones explained.
Umbral didnât have the Trainer civilization, so they couldnât shorten their petsâ growth period like Trainers, who used Arcane Star contract positions. Instead they had to rely on precious external alchemy, Pet Resources, and time to slowly raise their pets until they naturally grew up.
Due to the high input cost, only a few powerful Ghosts with a solid foundation in Umbral would consider cultivating pets, otherwise, most resources would be spent on the clans, in order to prevent their forces from being exterminated and the pet they worked hard to raise from becoming a wedding dress for others.
âWait, arenât I a Trainer myself?â David Jones looked at Rossetti with a playful glint in his eyes.
Who said that a Ghost Deity who reincarnated could only practice their Body Cultivation path and not the path of training? His disciple had such a high aptitude that he might be able to cultivate a never-before-seen Immortal Trainer.
Thinking of this possibility, David Jonesâ eyes became more fervent.
The only thing he needs to worry about now is whether Rossetti will have the risk of losing control.
Just then, the God Egg in David Jonesâ Origin Star Space quivered slightly, and a mysterious and profound knowledge flowed into his mind like water.
[Holy Oath]: An equal Contract formed between ancient sacred beasts and humans. Through the inheritance and modification of powerful beings, ordinary powerful beings can form a protective Contract to fight shoulder to shoulder with God Spirits.
After signing the Contract, both parties can randomly select and enhance one of the other partyâs attributes (including hidden ones) to share part of their talent.
Note: After the successful Contract, both parties will become Contract Comrades and can communicate mentally.
In contrast, comrades cannot harm each other and can resist any negative, tainted effects their allyâs talent brings.
When Contract Comrades join forces to fight, their power will be enhanced according to the Contractâs will, their power increasing significantly, with a certain probability of activating an infinitely powerful Sacred Technique.
(The Sacred Technique is the power bestowed by God Spirits to heroes, a power that can quell the chaos of the world!)
Looking through the knowledge in his mind, David Jones revealed a touch of disbelief. This item was just an upgraded version of Pet Bond Coordination! Although it was a bit too intense for David Jones to comprehend.
âDo you also plan to sign the Holy Oath with me?â David Jones seemed to have noticed and conveyed his thoughts to the God Egg in his Origin Star Space. However, the God Egg did not respond and continued to be dormant.
David Jones sighed.
Without a doubt, the Holy Oath bestowed by the God Egg would perfectly solve Rossettiâs problem and avoid the possibility of the master and disciple becoming enemies in the future.
Teacher, whatâs wrong?â Rossetti asked with concern.
âItâs nothing.â
David Jones shook his head, suppressing his inner thoughts, and then looked into Rossettiâs eyes.
âDo you really want to become stronger?â
âYes, I want to become as strong as you, Teacher!â
Newbies who are easily abandoned, Rossetti found it difficult to find a teacher who could accompany her for the journey. She didnât want to be abandoned again.
So becoming stronger was her only choice.
âIn that case, I have a Contract for you. You can choose whether or not to sign
it.â                       6
David Jones placed his finger on Rossettiâs forehead, under her trusting gaze.
It took a while for Rossetti to digest the information in her mind. As she looked into David Jonesâ eyes, she nodded without hesitation, a genuine smile on her face.
Rossetti didnât pay much attention to the effects of the Holy Oath, focusing only on the Contract Comrade aspect.
She didnât care much about the Teacherâs title, just as she had randomly called David Jones her father.
Rossetti just wanted someone to accompany her for the journey, to calm her heart down and not be driven by the destructive desires in her mind.
Itâs no wonder then that she was overjoyed that the Holy Oath could perfectly fulfill her wish.
Seeing Rossettiâs agreement, there was no surprise on David Jonesâ face.
After all, the Holy Oath imposes almost no restriction on Rossetti. Even her talents could be enhanced.
For a power-hungry person like Rossetti, there is no reason to refuse, unless
she plans to betray her master right now!
âVery well, the Contract process is simple. Iâll lead, and you just donât resist.â
David Jones paused the opening ceremony in the carriage and decided to form the Holy Contract with Rossetti first.
He also wanted to know what kind of talent he could obtain through this Contract, and whether he could become a hitherto unknown triple-talent holder.
He asked Greenox to find a vacant grassland to stop, and David Jones began to communicate with the God Egg in his mind with his thoughts.
Thatâs right, the Holy Oath doesnât require any Pet Resources. Itâs a Contract that can only be formed when a god uses divine power and the power of heaven and earth.
âRumbling!â
As David Jonesâ voice fell, the God Egg in his Origin Star Space suddenly erupted with an overwhelming divine power that was hard to look straight at.
The heavens and the earth trembled, as only divine rule could connect David Jones and Rossettiâs souls quietly, which only God Spirits can fully control.
However, this vast divine power seemed to have touched something deep within Rossettiâs soul, an endless darkness enveloping her. Her face showed some pain due to the boundless energy conflict.
âDid it fail?â David Jonesâ eyes narrowed.
Seemingly provoked by his doubt, the God Egg became more serious.
The next second, an even greater force of divine power shattered the darkness around Rossettiâs body, successfully forming the Holy Contract.
